wow. finally can settle down for a while and type out a blogger entry!:D yeah! hahahaa:D i feel like a busy person. so odd. it's the holidays!
haha:D
anywayz, had pm at rc today:D yeah!
then learnt how to play G, D(or izzit C)and E minor on the guitar... can't quite remember it now... hmmm. can only remember G. hahaha:D Sara says if i've learnt guitar i can teach her. hahha.
gosh. work. work is sometimes not very appetizing...much prefer office jobs now...though office jobs can be boring:P
wellus. was looking through. see first. think i prefer to do my jobs alone. can't multitask. talk to me while i'm working and i get distracted. alone is good. for working.
and i don't know what a resume looks like. at all.
maybe i shouldn't go and work. this is getting troublesome.
hahaha:D
i miss school! i want to learn and learn and learn. and learn and learn somemore.
yeah!
hahha. so intriguing. went to concourse with sis and jits today...turns out that yun's working at concourse! at american express! hahaha. intriguing.

oh! lots of blessings from God too:D hahahaha:D kim's fever was gone after praying for her, and alvin's mum got transferred to a normal ward!
and the weather for mega games day was wonderful! thank God!
think God convicted a lot of our hearts during this east chalet. holding onto the promises! amen!
gosh. just slept for 6 hours after returning from east chalet!:D hahaha.

Investing in a worthwhile cause...

I would rather stumble a thousand times
Attempting to reach a goal,
Than to sit in a crowd
In my weather-proof shroud,
A shriveled and self-satisfied soul.
I would rather be doing and daring
All of my error-filled days,
Than watching and waiting, and dying
Smug in my perfect ways.
I would rather wonder and blunder,
Stumbling blindly ahead,
Than for safety's sake
Least I make a mistake
Be sure, be safe, be dead.

Nov 06

-with all my heart, i long to feel You
with all my soul, i long to seek You-
i vaguely remember singing this song yesterday. haha.
yeah!
the internet is distracting. so i shall blog offline. so strange. typing in notepad now. lots more time i guess.
yeah. met lots of people today. hahaha. went to starhub to study with jits and eesiew and twin. twin went to buy something, came back and said to me 'if i told you who i saw, you won't be sitting here anymore'. hahaha. she saw junting. ah well.
so the four of us went to ka jiao her and sharon (they were having shepherding)...ah well. quite interesting. and then carrie arrived. and we went back to studying. oh. saw a sister called xuelian who arrived too early for pm so invited her to join us. hahaha. saw jason too.
when we were leaving, jt has changed her sheep. haha. mingxiu was there instead. yeah!:D
service was interesting. new songs! hahaha. and we were on our first part of a new series. how exciting!
had c-e-w meeting. very exciting things happening. hahaha:D anyway, met joseph and carrie on the way to the mrt. farnie.
poor jasmine was very sick. hope she'll rest well at home:)
yeah. then went to find steph to pass her her stuff. met this former nanyangal (oh no! i can't remember her name) and someone called jessie (yes. another jessie.)
-i long to hide in the shadow of Your wings-
should i work in december? hmm.

Nov 07

i found another ants' nest...in an uncovered hole left behind due to changing of my windows. how disastrous.
studied with joycelyn at macs today. my sister was supposed to join us but she couldn't wake up:P her mum joined us for a while. haha. quite funny. she bought one whole meal and ate only the burger, leaving the sundae, the drink and fries to us. even bought two apples. healthy living!
hahaha. quite funny.
yeah well. did nyj paper, half of cj's paper, my srj is with jits and more bio stuff. ammonia to nitrites to nitrates. yes. by nitrobacter. izzit? let me check. yes. i'm correct. nitrifying bacteria, of which an example is nitrobacter. then denitrifying bacteria will convert nitrates to nitrogen gas. brilliant creatures.
i can't remember my differential equation, nor can i remember my newton-rhapson (which IS disastrous 'cos it's the only question i can definitely do)
exhausted. hahaha. but joyful:D looking forward to exams:)

Nov 08
ah. studied with twin and jitsy and michael (who took a long time to travel from pasir ris to bukit timah) at bukit timah plaza, at the place beside kfc. hahaa:) quite an empty place...few people seem to venture there. quite a tempting place to eat though...food smells everywhere.
was quite disturbed in the morning over a dream i had...then the HS prompted me to drop it and don't be bothered about it, for as long as i check my own heart constantly and look to God, it would not be an issue at all.
yeah. anyway:) quite cool:D haha.
oh yes. i've developed a phobia of singing. it's all twin and jitsy's fault. they kept laughing whenever i started to sing while listening to the cd that sengkim burned for us. if i never ever sing again, it's because of the both of them. they traumatised me.
hahaha:D
oooh. 2 weeks and 1 day before the end of As! yeah. cool! i think i'll miss studying. so sad.
ah well.

Nov 11
studied with twin and shuyi at kap macs today:) heh. quite a nice place to study, though time was short 'cos i reached there at like 4pm. haha. finished reading 'the cartoon guide to economics' which wasn't very enlightening but proved to be quite interesting.
saw the central e guys. and knew a new person called chewie. hahaha!:D shuyi's friend:D the name's so interesting:)
i haven't bought my slippers and my white shirt. gotta do it tmr.
hmmmm.
hope the uls come back soon. hahaha. then she can get confirmation, so that i can get confirmation from her:)
was at timothy's house on tues and got michael to read to me about guan's msg posted on the tagboard. a formal gathering? hmm. okay.
i'll inform the rest of the teachers and discuss with them or something. dunno how to contact mrs yak though. hahaha.
yeah:D less than 2 weeks before the As end. hahaha. the As are sapping the energy out of me. but it's okay, i can draw strength from God!:D
-there is joy in the Lord
there is love in His Spirit
there is hope in the knowledge of Him
there's a fountain that flows
like a river from heaven
abounding in love to my soul-

Nov 15
one week and three more days to the end of As. hahaha:D
anyway, tried smsing miss lee to ask if the teachers will be able to come, but she said that most of them will most prob be out of the country by the end of the month..so wellus. i still haven't thought of the plans yet. hahaha:D maybe we'll just end up at the steamboat buffet place (yet again! so boring!)
haha. there've been multiple requests for basketball. yeah.
anyway, quite fun these days. swam with jits last wed, then played table tennis with xiangyu and twin (never played with guan.hehehe). twin has the potential. hahaha. i'm losing my touch.
yeah:)
studied yesterday with joycelyn..heh. i think we like to distract each other. then hongyao joined us at 7++.
oh! if u wanna study alone, go to marine parade lib starbucks and kapok the huge sofa there...hahaha. the one near the counter. very nice place to study 'cos the music's just over ur head and it's supremely comfortable and bright and nice smelling and you'll feel cozy, yet in that alert state of mind to enjoy your studying. i shall restructure my room once the aircon and the door comes.
i've just discovered more mini occupants in the same room as i am. hahaha. maybe they'll provide amusement for the cat. thinking of ways to kill the mini occupants though. they seem to like to wander into my room before going out to the living room. how disastrous:)

nov 16
interesting day today.
got out of house at 12.30pm, but reached school at the ultimate late time of 1.45pm. gosh. the bus was dragging its wheels. i thank God i'm not late. just in time to see everyone going up to put their bags. whew.
econs paper today. hahaha. forgot to bring my jacket, but surprisingly didn't freeze to death:D God made the aircon blow at a nice temperature. it was very cold, but it was a very comfortable cold (to me. michelle, who was in the same predicament as me, said she has no blood in her hands for the last essay) and cleared my brains very nicely to think faster. no brain freeze for me. haha.
heh. i wanna share this though i think some people will kill me after i do share it.
i didn't really study a lot for my econs, was actually quite comfortably spotting... actually i didn't even spot. just that somehow or another, i felt no importance in studying for anything else except for the macroeconomic probs and policies and externalities. (of course i read through some of the others...like protectionism and what-nots, but those were only flipped through...) i'm convicted that it's the prompting for the HS and really, guess what came out? hahahaa.
first question was about externalities (totally.), forth question was about national income multiplier (which i know nothing about, except that it's influenced by mpw, which is made up of mps and mpm...know this 'cos it was in the macro prob and policies notes and some other stuff which i've only read once or something dropped into my mind) and fiscal policy(woohoo!), fifth question was about money supply and monetary policy and the last was about macroprobs in Singapore due to a falling exchange rate. i did 4,5 and 6 'cos the first question required more extensive thinking and not a mere regurgitation of the points i've learnt. but really thank God! to have studied a mere portion and have these portions coming out in the exam, i don't know what to say.
actually after properly studying about the macro probs and policies, i do find these questions so much more interesting and more fun to do than the microeconomic problems. those are so... narrow! so boring. macro is so ...case-study!is so... real-life, so intriguing how everything is nicely interwined together. a nice complex network of what happens in the world around us. i am starting to enjoy econs.

Nov18
just watched singapore idol...hehe. i think i'm starting to know why sylvester has a large fanbase...he's very sincere. thought he did 'kiss by a rose' very well..dunno why the judges didn't quite like it except for dick lee. hahaha:D it was superb. the starting was superb anyway. haha. but he's gotta work on his vocals.
and taufik! he seemed a little out-of-sorts today. no idea why though. hmmm. yet the judges seemed to like him. but it's so obvious he's a little out-of-sorts. wellus.
of course, olinda. i support olinda...but guess pple dun seem to like her image. no idea why either O_o people are just strange. ah well:) olinda has a strong voice! she reminds me a tad of fantasia. hah.
yeah! studying bio is so exciting:D hahaha.
oh! saw munbbill and hanjie at bedok library today when me, jits and michael went to study there after cg. heh. didn't even notice them till jits proded me and told me tt they were saying hi to me.
and saw mrs kuan with michelle! hahaha:D as usual, i walked past her and it wasn't till mrs kuan tapped me on the shoulder and jitsy exclaiming 'mrs kuan!' that i realised tt it's her. oops.
delifrance is always a nice place to study. hahaha. and mocha shall be my favourite type of coffee;)

nov19
yikes. cancel sign in didn't seem to work so fast O_o
oooh. so many reunions after exams. hahaha. can meet up with the nygep pple, meet up with the epirotes pple, meet up with dancing, steph, corinne, liting, lydia, desiree and rux to go out together (we must, k?:D), meet up with goodness knows who else. maybe the 03S11B pple. hahaha.
four papers more. four delightful papers. econs and bio.
i miss kimhong actually (my primary sch classmate cum og-mate). haven't really kept in touch with her since last yr. hahaha. she's like the most unassuming person i know. glad tt we're meeting up soon:)
and all the rest of you pple who have gone in non-existence ever since the start of prelims, hopefully you'll reappear. hahaha.
yeah wellus. i'm talking nonsense here. hahaha. shall go and enjoy my growth and repro notes:D so interesting!
oh. no. i forgot the scientific name of yeast. saccharomyces what? saccharomyces cerensiae. haha. all the funny names which are quite a delight to pronounce.. like. spirogyra. which is an unbranched filamentous green alga. hahaha! i remember! hahaha. nvm. dun mind me. btw, alga is the singular form of algae. yeah. do u noe escherichia coli which lives in our intestines can mulitply up to 20 times per min (or izzit per second? should be per min). so can you imagine the number of e.coli is in ur intestines right now?:D:D:D
thank God we didn't have biotech for option. i'll just be bored to death.
hahaa.

---
awww. so sad. olinda got out:P
she got good vocals. anyone caught her wearing the miniskirt in 'footloose'? hahaa.
anyway. anyway. anyway. jits says tt singapore idol is messed up. i think so too. wellus.
couldn't really study well today. extremely restless. what a waste of time. oh! saw sharon in the macs at toa payoh central while i was looking for a toilet. hahahha.
ohoh!
i heard EIC on power 98 on maggie's show today. the guys are fab! haven't heard good acoustics for a long time. hahaha. they're having a concert on the 24th of dec at the studio in esplanade...high chance i'm not going. it's only $25 btw. wellus. everyone should try listening to them. they totally blew the listeners away this afternoon, including me. really good!

nov24
oh look. tomorrow's the last day of As for me:D hahaha. how exciting.
went to make my atm card today...much easier to withdraw money next time. new system in house. mum deposits money, i withdraw. guess who thought up of the idea?:)
yeah well.
muscles ache now.
i do miss basketball afterall. hahahaha.

nov27
-i wanna be a reflector
i wanna shine with Your glory
i wanna let the whole world know that You're living in me-
hehehe. has sms in the morn yesterday. intriguing. hahaha. sms led to sisters' sharing today during dinnertime which was quite interesting:)
yeah! and then went with jits after sms to Times and read books! rather. read half a book due to the lack of time. hahaha. and we proceeded to somerset to meet qing and nina but well..both of them were... so me and jits went to the toilet, then to mount zion which recently opened at somerset to look around. hahaha.
qing showed us her multiple pictures of *a-hem* her object of attraction - tay ping hui. hahaha. hah. tph reminds me of ceilings and beds and what-nots. which reminds me tt i still owe fungi mark wahlberg. oh dear.
yeah. the four of us went to the bowling place above cine...went to the wrong storey and found ourselves in front of ktv.. hahaha. then heard that the bowling alleys are under renovation (!!!) and checked them out. wellus. they were really under renovations. so sad. haha.
then we proceeded to pizza hut to eat! yeah!
and weez and huiyuan and jane joined us later! and qing left 'cos she wanted to go to john little first, then to library, then to i can't remember where. then after dinner, we saw trace and yengyong!
u know wat? i couldn't quite recognise yengyong from the back now. i saw trace and then i was like, 'who's tt caucasian girl beside her?':P hahahaha. guess what yy did to her hair O_o
yeah. then i ran out of plans of what to do. hahaha. so we walked. and parted at the traffic light. then walked yy and trace to meet arya and i can't remember his name and then we went home! (me and jits).
yeah. today.
went to nina's house to learn rollerblading! hahaha. so interesting. i fell multiple times of my butt. hahahaha. and i'm quite scared of going fast. wellus. nina said i improved! yeah! by the way, we rollerbladed to the cemetry near her house. quite a nice cemetry if i must say. a scary slope though. and mosquitoes which are too friendly:)
then lunch:D which consisted of pratas! the prata person cheated our money!
then service! hahahaha:D service was full of surprises. i never cease to be amazed at the testimonies shared. really cool!:D hahaha.
then dinner. wellus. dinner was a time of fellowship!
then me and joycelyn and jingting and shimin went to walk around... heh. sent shimin off and saw sharon and hongyao and bowen and joseph and derek's friend (oh no! i forgot his name again!) and i really can't remember who else. hahaha.
then saw tom and hongyao again while waiting for jiali and jas outside john little. haha. tom is a very friendly brother to his brother (harry)...he keeps asking us to go and 'bug his brother'. yeah wellus.
heh. and the rest of the night passed in an interesting fashion. wellus;)
then saw chiew! hahahaha. actually i thought i saw chiew. then i shouted her name. then she never turned. so i thought i saw wrongly and decided to walk behind her to try to see her face. then saw jon, who pointed me to chiew. ahhhh!
intriguing.
then mrt! gosh. my arm is feeling a bit tired from all the typing. thought i'll have no company for my train. hahaha. then the ys pple appeared. and jolene (is tt how u spell her name?)appeared and yeah! i had jolene, xiao wen and jerlyn for company! hahaha.
still looking for a job. oh! i forgot to mention!
sihui came today!:D:D:D hahahaha. okay. nvm. hahahaha. 'cos usually she can only come on sunday mornings 'cos of her family...but today she could come for youth service!:D
i can't think of a place to go for our gathering. gosh. i shall wreck my brain tonight!:D

clearing up my hotmail inbox so that it won't get flooded even if it's not checked for some time. found this:)

Want a Donut?

There was a certain Professor of Religion named Dr. Christianson, a studious man who taught at a small college in the Western United States. Dr. Christianson taught the required survey course in Christianity at this particular institution. Every student was required to take this course his or her freshman year regardless of his or her major. Although Dr. Christianson tried hard to communicate the essence of the gospel in his class, he found that most of his students looked upon the course as nothing but required drudgery. Despite his best efforts, most students refused to take Christianity seriously. This year, Dr. Christianson had a special student named Steve. Steve was only a freshman, but was studying with the intent of going onto seminary for the ministry.
Steve was popular, well liked, and an imposing physical specimen. The starting center on the school football team, he was the best student in the professor's class. One day, Dr. Christianson asked Steve to stay after class so he could talk with him.
"How many push-ups can you do?"
Steve said, "I do about 200 every night."
"200? That's pretty good, Steve," Dr. Christianson said. "Do you think you could do 300?"
Steve replied, "I don't know... I've never done 300 at a time."
"Do you think you could?" again asked Dr. Christianson.
"Well, I can try," said Steve.
"Can you do 300 in sets of 10? I have a class project in mind and I need you to do about 300 push ups in sets of ten for this to work. Can you do it? I need you to tell me you can do it," said the professor.
Steve said, "Well... I think I can... yeah, I can do it."
Dr. Christianson said, "Good! I need you to do this on Friday. Let me explain what I have in mind."
Friday came and Steve got to class early and sat in the front of the room. When class started, the professor pulled out a big box of donuts. Now these weren't the normal kinds of donuts; they were the extra fancy BIG kind, with cream centers and frosting swirls. Everyone was pretty excited it was Friday, the last class of the day, and they were going to get an early start on the weekend with a party in Dr. Christianson's class.
Dr. Christianson went to the first girl in the first row and asked, "Cynthia, do you want to have one of these donuts?" Cynthia said, "Yes."
Dr. Christianson then turned to Steve and asked, "Steve, would you do ten push-ups so that Cynthia can have a donut?"
Steve said, "Sure," and jumped down from his desk to do a quick ten. Then Steve again sat in his desk. Dr. Christianson put a donut on Cynthia's desk.
Dr. Christianson then went to Joe, the next person, and asked, "Joe, do you want a donut?"
Joe said, "Yes."
Dr. Christianson asked, "Steve would you do ten push-ups so Joe can have a donut?" Steve did ten push-ups; Joe got a donut. And so it went, down the first aisle, Steve did ten push ups for every person before they got their donut. And down the second aisle, till Dr. Christianson came to Scott. Scott was on the basketball team, and in as good condition as Steve. He was very popular and never lacking for female companionship.
When the professor asked, "Scott do you want a donut?" Scott's reply was, "Well, can I do my own push ups?"
Dr. Christianson said, "No, Steve has to do them."
Then Scott said, "Well, I don't want one then."
Dr. Christianson shrugged and then turned to Steve and asked, "Steve, would you do ten push ups so Scott can have a donut he doesn't want?"
With perfect obedience Steve started to do ten push ups.
Scott said, "HEY! I said I didn't want one!"
Dr. Christianson said, "Look, this is my classroom, my class, my desks, and these are my donuts. Just leave it on the desk if you don't want it." And he put a donut on Scott's desk.
Now by this time, Steve had begun to slow down a little. He just stayed on the floor between sets because it took too much effort to be getting up and down. You could start to see a little perspiration coming out around his brow.
Dr. Christianson started down the third row. Now the students were beginning to get a little angry. Dr. Christianson asked Jenny, "Jenny, do you want a donut?"
Sternly, Jenny said, "No."
Then Dr. Christianson asked Steve, "Steve, would you do ten more push ups so Jenny can have a donut that she doesn't want?" Steve did ten; Jenny got a donut. By now, a growing sense of uneasiness filled the room. The students were beginning to say "No" and there were all these uneaten donuts on the desks. Steve also had to really put forth a lot of extra effort to get these push ups done for each donut. There began to be a small pool of sweat on the floor beneath his face, his arms and brow were beginning to get red because of the physical effort involved.
Dr. Christianson asked Robert, who was the most vocal unbeliever in the class, to watch Steve do each push up to make sure he did the full ten push ups in a set because he couldn't bear to watch all of Steve's work for all of those uneaten donuts. He sent Robert over to where Steve was so Robert could count the set and watch Steve closely. Dr. Christianson started down the fourth row.
During his class, however, some students from other classes had wandered in and sat down on the steps along the radiators that ran down the sides of the room. When the professor realized this, he did a quick count and saw that now there were 34 students in the room.
He started to worry if Steve would be able to make it. Dr. Christianson went on to the next person and the next and the next.
Near the end of that row, Steve was really having a rough time. He was taking a lot more time to complete each set.
Steve asked Dr. Christianson, "Do I have to make my nose touch on each one?"
Dr. Christianson thought for a moment, "Well, they're your push ups. You are in charge now. You can do them any way that you want." And Dr. Christianson went on.
A few moments later, Jason, a recent transfer student, came to the room and was about to come in when all the students yelled in one voice, "NO! Don't come in! Stay out!" Jason didn't know what was going on.
Steve picked up his head and said, "No, let him come."
Professor Christianson said, "You realize that if Jason comes in you will have to do ten push ups for him?"
Steve said, "Yes, let him come in. Give him a donut."
Dr. Christianson said, "Okay, Steve, I'll let you get Jason's out of the way right now. Jason, do you want a donut?" Jason, new to the room hardly knew what was going on.
"Yes," he said, "give me a donut."
"Steve, will you do ten push ups so that Jason can have a donut?"
Steve did ten push ups very slowly and with great effort. Jason, bewildered, was handed a donut and sat down.
Dr. Christianson finished the fourth row then started on those visitors seated by the heaters. Steve's arms were now shaking with each push up in a struggle to lift him against the force of gravity. Sweat was profusely dropping off of his face and, by this time, there was no sound except his heavy breathing. There was not a dry eye in the room.
The very last two students in the room were two young women, both cheerleaders, and very popular. Dr. Christianson went to Linda, the second to last, and asked, "Linda, do you want a doughnut?"
Linda said, very sadly, "No, thank you."
Professor Christianson quietly asked, "Steve, would you do ten push ups so that Linda can have a donut she doesn't want?"
Grunting from the effort, Steve did ten very slow push ups for Linda.
Then Dr. Christianson turned to the last girl, Susan. "Susan, do you want a donut?"
Susan, with tears flowing down her face, began to cry. "Dr. Christianson, why can't I help him?"
Dr. Christianson, with tears of his own, said, "No, Steve has to do it alone, I have given him this task and he is in charge of seeing that everyone has an opportunity for a donut whether they want it or not. When I decided to have a party this last day of class, I looked at my grade book. Steve, here is the only student with a perfect grade. Everyone else has failed a test, skipped class, or offered me inferior work. Steve told me that in football practice, when a player messes up he must do push ups. I told Steve that none of you could come to my party unless he paid the price by doing your push ups. He and I made a deal for your sakes. Steve, would you do ten push ups so Susan can have a donut?" As Steve very slowly finished his last push up, with the understanding that he had accomplished all that was required of him, having done 350 push ups, his arms buckled beneath him and he fell to the floor.
Dr. Christianson turned to the room and said. "And so it was, that our Savior, Jesus Christ, on the cross, cried to the Father, "Into thy hands I commend my spirit." With the understanding that He had done everything that was required of Him, he yielded up His life. And like some of those in this room, many of us leave the gift on the desk, uneaten.
Two students helped Steve up off the floor and to a seat, physically exhausted, but wearing a thin smile. "Well done, good and faithful servant," said the professor, adding "Not all sermons are preached in words."
Turning to his class the professor said, "My wish is that you might understand and fully comprehend all the riches of grace and mercy that have been given to you through the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who spared not the only Begotten Son, but gave Him up for us all--for the whole Church, now and forever.'

Don't leave the donut uneaten.
hello hello! i'm back online again.
hahaha.
supposed to not use the comp till today. but gwen said she saw me online yesterday...so i guess i did come online:D hahaa. which means i didn't fulfill the 'not using comp until today' thing.
i can't remember anything O_o
ah well:)
anyway, i've got lots to blog about. hahaha:D
gp paper was quite a delight to do. was choosing between qn 1 (society focusing on young at expense of old), qn 6 ('Is recycling the answer to the problem of waste?') and qn 11 ('how important is religion in society today?') was writing out the outline for 11 when i realised that i'll do a lot of analysis which will prob cause me to go everywhere at everytime. so i did 6! hahahaa. okay. oh! huiyuan did 6 too! hahaha.
anyway. compre was okay. choice vs destiny. so interesting. quite fun to do too:)
oh! let me share about my traumatising experience yesterday:P
was in the bathroom happily showering, when i suddenly felt pain on my soles... then i was thinking..could it be that the heater has gone mad? then i thought, can't be..'cos my head feels okay and it's only my soles that are dying from the scalding water. turns out that it's the first round of water from the washing machine:P i hopped around and nearly died. hahaha. had to jump to the far side of the bathroom, switch on the tap there at full blast to prevent the washing machine water from reaching me and scream for my mother ('cos my bathroom seems to be strangely sound-proof after renovations )_( maybe it's to reduce noise pollution when pple sing):D hahahaha. gosh. so traumatising. my soles remained happily red even after the bath.
yeah.
then got a call from junting. hahaha. she called all the j2s but only jitsy and i picked up the phone. yep.
why is everyone talking about universities? i'll prefer to leave thinking about the choice of uni to after As!:D yeah.
-uni uni, don't run away from me
uni uni, a hard choice, can't you see?
uni uni, why's everyone talking about u now?-

please help pass the word around. i only have the numbers of 20++ pple. hehe.
that's all for now. if anyone wants to help me in preparation, please ensure your papers do not end later than the 26th. which means that all humanities S paper pple are out. muahaha:D

i received more smses from pple i didn't expect! haahha. another two actually. hahaa. how exciting:)
one from michael. haha. not our mj michael. but from da michael. former UL:)
one from eesiew. hahaha too. she asked me an econs question. thank God i knew how to answer. or else i'll just faint. haha.
gosh. gp on thurs. gosh. gp on thurs. gosh. gp on thurs. gp discussion for all j2s at freedy's house on wed. time to be confirmed. venue is his condo's function room. which is somewhere opposite nyj. which is in our area! yeah. or if it's the other condo, then it'll be in orchard area! who wanna come?:D let's all aim for an A together!
i'm in a singing mood. haha. figured out a tune for 'desert oasis' (finally!) but i forgot how to sing it:P hahaha.

gosh. today has been an unexpected day. hahaha.
just received smses from two people i don't expect to receive smses from at all. one is genevieve..this girl from chij punggol (lady of our nativity) whom i was tutoring in (yes. in all subjects...) maths last december:) i kinda became like her nanny.. play with her, eat with her, walk her home..haha.
then the second person's mun bbill. hahha. i wasn't just surprised, i was.. pleasantly surprised. hahaha. okay. just a diff in the words used:)
studied with joycelyn today. hehee. so funny. got to listen to the songs which sengkim burnt for us:) saturation kinetics like to set in after a few hours of studying. how absolutely disastrous. oh. there were two frens of joycelyn whom we met. there were super lame! gosh. nearly couldn't stand it at first. haha. but quite interesting in the end. i call them the yellow sisters:)
hmm. what's up with all the sec 4 pple. my sister's still studying away. joycelyn and alvin are both too excited to sleep. like huh? paper tmr!
oh. wait. my sister doesn't have any papers tmr. oops.
speaking of papers. i've decided to go for the mock paper mr ho is setting tmr. oh dear. and i haven't touched maths for like. one ENTIRE WEEK? oh dear.
i've gotta stop the bad habit of sleeping at 4.45am every morning. gosh. keeps losing track of time.
so many decisions to be made in the next few months require planning at this moment. so interesting. hahaha.
by the way, for those who haven't had the chance to try it. taking a stroll around at 2am is rather invigorating.
-as i breathe in the breath of life that fills my heart
You are my all consuming fire-
of course, if you intend to try that. don't walk around alone. do drag out your sister or brother to go with you. night air makes for excellant company in another. the silence that abounds is more than often filled with cheery talk and joyful laughter.
what an interesting sound the word abound makes.
'where sin abounded, grace did much more abound'

hehe. i'm delighted with bio. believe it or not, my knowledge of biological molecules were kept at a minimal until these two days! wow.
yeah:)
haha. i can't wait for uni. then i can take lit again. yeah! was looking through merchant of venice... bassanio and antonio and shylock and 'in soothe i know not why i am so sad'! hahaha.
yeah well.
-yeah yeah yeah-
hahaha. jiali danced for service today. intriguing.
oh! and sengkim burned a cd for everyone to encourage them for exams! hahaha. lots of songs inside. just tt i can't listen to them:D *grInz* how fun.
from mingxiu and carrie:)

*~A Student’s Prayer~*

Lord, grant me a quiet heart,
before exams start.
Lead me to use my leisure hours,
to invigorate my powers.
My mind from daydreams liberate,
give me the will to concentrate.
From all distractions set me free;
that in my studies I may be
a student with a sole fulfilment,
to make my work a sacrament.
From my faint heart in love expel,
all failures fears that therein dwell.
And from my pillow drive away,
all dark foreboding of the day.
Help me in faith to rest so deep,
that I may have untroubled sleep.
While notes and lectures I prepare,
may I not lost my zest for prayer.
And may I not forget to look,
for guidance in Thy Book.
And may I ever grateful be,
to all who daily pray for me.
While for myself I intercede,
for other students too I plead;
so may exams find
each one alert in heart and mind.
Thus inward joy and peace possessing,
May exams prove a source of blessing.
Amen.

gosh.
the world is so messy these days.
anyway.
it really was a double titration.
gosh.
and i was hoping that it wasn't.
so that at least i can continue to trust in the honesty of the teachers in other jcs.
apparently not.
it is a double titration:P
guess bio prac must have been unfair too.

Wednesday, October 27, 2004

thank God i dun have chem prac tmr. feeling a little under-the-weather.
oh! i wanna commend the transitlink office:D hahaha. they're very nice pple. 'cos i was on 26 and i was feeling a little yah... feverish so i decided to sleep on the bus. then... i didn't realise that my wallet has slipped down the side into the small crack by the seat...hehe. got off the bus, couldn't find it and i was like 'gosh. dun tell me i lost my wallet too.' hahaha..then i decided to ask if i can go up to 26 to check again 'cos i had a sneaking suspicion that i left it on the bus. hehe. they were like 'okay! let's quickly go up the bus to check before the bus goes off again'...:D thank God for the pple in the transitlink office. hehe.
so intriguing. a brother called jimmy came for cg today. hahaa. he's very open about his life.
so strange. jiali was like leading most of the roles today. hahaa. quite funny. spread out amongst her, joce and jingting i guess. xin ku ta men le.
restructuring again. a minor one. i keep forgetting that we're the central east cg:P hahahaa. so blur. so now instead of being with the rest of the vj and tj pple, me, jits, joycelyn and michael will be in one cg. gosh. the study caregroup!
-Your hand lifted me up, i stand on higher ground
Your love opened my heart, and made this valley sing
You have turned my mourning into dancing
You have turned my sorrow into joy-
hoho. studying is so tiring. but i found good books in the library:) when econs get indigestible, bio makes studying palatable once more!
-i'll give You praise for You deserve it
i'll give You praise for what You've done
i'll give You praise for You are able
i'll give You praise till i overcome

i'll give You praise when the sun is shining
i'll give You praise in the dark of night
i'll give You praise when the battle rages
i'll give You praise till it works out right!-

let me share something joyful:)
i jumped by 2 grades for maths mock paper! hahaa. still not very good. but it's the first time my grades ever jumped:P God is good!
ooooh. nice lyrics are back:) there's a review on darren's new album and they said it's the most exciting yet. except for the song 'popular'...look at this:) i've never heard the song before but read it out and feel the beat!
'I've got a burning desire
It feels like a fire burning deep in my soul
You know its out of control
I feel the temperature rising
I think I'm capsizing
Going out of my brain
I think I'm going insane

I wanna be the crick in your neck, trip in your step
Face in the crowd that you never forget
You're never gonna get rid of me
Have to be removed forcibly
I made it my mission tonight
Scoping your vibe
Getting some digits in the 4 1 5
Don't want someone to make love to me
I Just friends and then well see

Right Dead Back On It
I know where you belong
And you just keep me holding on
Right Dead Back On It
I'm feeling you so strong
So tell me how could this be wrong

Just go to work on me...
I'll go to work on you...

Definitely I feel attraction
Chemical reaction
But how many times have i been fed this kind of lie
You need a certain kind of man
You need to have the upper hand
I do not think they understand
I am not through with my demands

I need personality please
Intellectual breeze
Ease of conversation, not a sexual tease
Somebody devoted to me
Stacked with sincerity
But you dont know me
But i know it feels
Take a chance on something baby
Show me how you feel'

hahaha:) oh. and look at these lyrics in 'void' ...
-Just like a spinal chord
Severed and broken but the spark still tries-

and these lyrics sound like they'll sound quite nice:D
-Waking up from a coma (tossing, turning)
Sweat has covered my body (my mouth felt dry)
My life flashing before me (nothing much to say)
Still it was so boring (did you hear me sing?)
Only I could adore you (the wind through the trees)
Silently barking orders (rushing up to me)
This is only beginning (don't anger the sea)
Oh, the wave's crashing higher and higher on me-

oh. and these lyrics sound so disastrous:
-Cynical, jaded, faithless, disappointed, disillusioned, used
If I could take back all my sweat, my tears, my sex, my joy I would
My time, my love, my effort, passion, dedication
In case of mistaken identity I gave these things to you
If I sound angry, bitter, sad, infatuated, it's the truth
Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, just a few
Stages of acceptance that it's really over
It's just so complicated and I'm stupid for believing in you-

ah well. wanna contrast two songs here:) so here goes:) both by darren as well:)
'darkness' - Darren Hayes

Been spending so much time underground
I guess my eyes adjusted
To the lack of light
I got
Covered in darkness
Covered in darkness

I have been waiting
Always waiting for something new
Happiness has always ended
In the blink of an eye
There was no one attending
No one attending

It doesn't really matter where it all began
All I know
I got covered in darkness
Covered in darkness
Ever wonder why I never really truly connect
Although my eyes are open
I can hold your gaze
But I am never connected
Never connected

I am famous for my generosity
They say I am the kindest
But it is easier to
Give than receive love
Give than receive love

It doesn't really matter where it all began
All I know
I was covered in darkness
Covered in darkness

Turning pages over
Run away to nowhere
And it's hard to take control
When your enemy's old and afraid of you
You'll discover that the monster you were running from
Is the monster in you

Better to hold on to love
Better to hold on to love
Change will come

It doesn't really matter where it all began
All I know
I was covered in darkness
Covered in darkness

It doesn't really matter where it all began
Cuz all I know
I was lost
I was lost
No, no

It doesn't really matter where it all began no no
All I know
I was lost
I feel lost
Lost
No...

and the contrast...

'Light'--- Darren Hayes

The light, it flickers
Your light, travelling down so deep
Illumination

I have been cold, I have been blind
You have come to change my mind
I can put my faith in you

The light, it blisters
Your light, coming down so bright
Transformation
Turn it up, give me some room to grow
Turn it up, give me that sense to know

I have been cold, I have been blind
You were sent to change my mind
I can put my faith in you

For something ordinary
It's so extraordinary
I trust, I put my faith in you
In you
In you, in you
In you, in you

The light, it glitters
Your light, when I stand this close
It's almost blinding
Turn it up, give me some room to grow
Turn it up, give me the sense to know

I have been changed, I have become
I have flamed under the sun
I'm the reflection of you

For something ordinary
It's so extraordinary
I trust, I put my faith in you
In you
In you, in you
In you, in you
In you, you, you

For something ordinary
It's so extraordinary
I just, I put my faith in you
In you
In you, in you
In you, you, you

It flickers
It blisters
It glitters

In you, in you
In you, you, you
You are

ooh. what a shocking night. hahaha. was browsing through bAa's blog (my bball buddy in nyj!) and got a few shocks of my life:P
anyway, here's what i got from her blog:)
'What life skills are you trying to teach to your players. Below are somepositive messages that I try to teach and emphasize to my players.
1. Make Christ and His teachings the foundation for your life. Your goal is tolive a Christ-centered balanced life.
2. Act like a Winner. I can't stress enough the importance of handling yourselfat all times with class and integrity, especially in the tough times that truly test everyone and usually bring out our worst instincts.
3. Always be positive. Positive people can take on the world.
4. Be committed to hard work. Hard work is not always fun, but it's the priceyou must pay to be more successful. The harder you work, the tougher it is to surrender. 5. Be nice. Treat others the way you would like to be treated.
6. Avoid having to be right all the time. Your goal is to connect with people, not defeat.
7. Be committed to doing things the right way. Remember that perfect practice makes perfect.
8. Smile! In every culture it is the light in your window that tells people there's a caring, sharing individual inside.
9. Learn to stay relaxed and friendly no matter how much tension you're under.
10. Write down your goals and review them often. When you fail to plan, you are planning to fail by default.
11. Focus all your attention and energy on the achievement of your goals.
12. Don't put things off. Get in the habit every day of doing the more unpleasant things first... If you tell someone you're going to do something, then do it.
13. Eliminate the word quit from your vocabulary. If you want to be successful over the long haul, you must be willing to stay the course... People, who won't quit, don't.
14. Learn from your mistakes. There are four things you should do with a mistake: 1) recognize it, 2) admit it, 3) learn from it, 4) forget it.
15. Be able to admit your weaknesses and establish short-term goals to overcome them.
16. Dress and look your best at all times.
17. Respond with a simple, courteous "thank you" when anyone pays you a compliment for any reason.
18. Sit up front in the most prominent rows when you attend class, meetings, etc.
19. Replace the word "can't" with "can," and "try" with "will" in your vocabulary.
20. Be on time. Always try to be at least ten minutes early.
21. Thrive on pressure. The more you prepare the better able you are to handle pressurized situations. Pressure often brings out extraordinary results.
22. Develop a study routine. Discipline yourself to study 1 to 2 hours a night.Your grades/ performance reflect the amount of time you are willing to invest.
23. Stay humble. Respect and recognition comes from personal sacrifice, hardwork, and the grace of God.
haha. look what i saw:P
'Besides MOE has admitted that GEP's main purpose is eugenics - getting us to marry each other is their goal. Please counter this evil plan by marrying the most retarded person you know. Thank you.'
lala.
'eugenics n [sing v] science of the production of healthy intelligent children with the aim of improving the human genetic stock.
great. just what we need. A breeding plan.'
more comments:
'And about the GEP eugenics thingy, YES... its evil machinations must be exposed and
halted, before it is too late...! I can only say "The meek shall inherit the earth".'
yesh!
There's a lighthouse on the hillside that overlooks life's sea.
When I'm tossed it sends out a light that I might see.
And the light that shines in darkness now will safely lead me home,
If it wasn't for the lighthouse, my ship would sail no more.

And I thank God for The Lighthouse, I owe my life to Him.
Jesus is The Lighthouse and from the rocks of sin
He has shown the light around me, so that I might clearly see.
If it wasn't for The Lighthouse, Where would this ship be?

:)

i love the way You love me how You turned my life around
set my feet to dancing it's in You that i have found
a ???? .......of wondrous love
i love the way You love me!:D

heh. drinking JJ's Hawton drink now (san1 cha1 shui3)..tastes horrendous. hahaha:D quite disgusting. and it's a product of singapore! gosh. if all the companies in singapore try to be unique and produce drinks like that...i have a feeling that our bop deficit will get even worse. hahah:D
a very distracting day today. hahaha. had jits and joycelyn over to my house downstairs study room to study but well...i think it's quite a disastrous combination to put the three of us together. coupled with the fact that it's an afternoon! i can't study well in afternoons! makes me sleep! hahahaa. but evening came and jitsy went and it got much better. hahaha:)
gosh. joce just asked me a respiration qn. which reminds me. i can't remember anything about respiration! disastrous. hahaha:D
there were three girls in the study room imitating someone else and pretending to be really depressed over something when they weren't:P so naughty.
'bedshaped'--- keane

Many's the time I ran with you down
The rainy roads of your old town
Many the lives we lived in each day
And buried altogether
Don't laugh at me
Don't look away

You'll follow me back
With the sun in your eyes
And on your own
Bedshaped
And legs of stone
You'll knock on my door
And up we'll go
In white light
I don't think so
But what do I know?
What do I know?
I know!

I know you think I'm holding you down
And I've fallen by the wayside now
And I don't understand the same things as you
But I do

Don't laugh at me
Don't look away

You'll follow me back
With the sun in your eyes
And on your own
Bedshaped
And legs of stone
You'll knock on my door
And up we'll go
In white light
I don't think so
But what do I know?
What do I know?
I know!

And up we'll go
In white light
I don't think so
But what do I know?
What do I know?
I know!

very inspired by today's stewardship teaching...and fired up 'cos of pastor jeff's teaching. and God really probed in my heart an area which i have been holding on to far too much:P my computer time.
it was a great time just praising, worshipping and adoring the Lord today. just Him being the -centre of our focus-!:D hahaha.
-You're my rock yeahyeah
You're my refuge
You're my hope yeahyeah
and my future-
really wanna mean what i sing
-as a pleasing sacrifice
Lord i offer You my life-
what am i doing being awake at such an hour? all thanks to the dear adorable resident mosquito:P
trying to justify why mosquitoes are on earth. here are a few reasons:
1) to provide as a food source for lizards (either in the house or in the wild ---not that there's much 'wild' in singapore to talk about:D)
2) to act as an alternative source of blood transfusion. or plasma transfusion. or goodness knows what kinda transfusion
3) to spur us on to think creatively (eg. thinking of why they exist)
yeah:D
let me try to go back and sleep. zZz.

"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me..." (the Apostle Paul in Philippians 1:21-22, niv).

Several years ago one grandmother I know sold off the old family home, pulled up her roots, left many of her friends and activities behind, and moved to a retirement village in another town. She had been healthy and energetic all her life, but in the last year after her move she aged considerably and developed a terminal illness.

At age 65 another friend of mine retired from being a full-time minister of a large church and set up a full-time counseling center and wrote his first book. His book became a bestseller and he has since written ten more. At age 80 he had slowed down but was still counseling and writing.

What made the difference between these two people? Like many elderly people who retire or move to another place, the first person suffered deeply from the loss of friends, her home of many years, and the activities she was used to. She became lonely and life for her seemed to lose its meaning. She had no real purpose to carry her through this time of major change and readjustment.

The second person, however, had something to live for long before his retirement. He just continued it after "retirement."

Loneliness, emptiness, and boredom are all a very real part of modern man's dilemma. They are indicative of our failure to find meaning and purpose for living and they show up in the high divorce rate, the alarming abuse of alcohol and other drugs, and in the high depression and suicide rate.

In America, for example, the most affluent country on earth, some 40,000 people take their own lives each year while it is estimated that ten times that number attempt
to. That means in our country one person out of every 6,000 commits suicide each year. And there are countless others who, while living in the midst of abundance, to quote Henry D. Thoreau, live lives of "quiet desperation."

The tragedy in life, however, is not death, but rather, as Albert Schweitzer once said, "what dies inside a man while he lives." A person dies inside when he has no meaningful purpose outside of himself for which to live."

"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might" (Ecclesiastes 9:10, niv).

It is purpose--not wealth or success--that makes life worthwhile. Purpose makes even drudgery acceptable and is an immunization against many sicknesses. How then can we
find more meaning and purpose to life? The following tips can help:

Getting out of yourself. Another grandmother I know had a large family to bring up and was widowed rather reasonably early in life. She had her share of heartaches but never allowed these to get her down. She lived a full and active life and had a wonderful gift for passing on cheer to those around her. Her secret was helping other people. She was an active member of her church and had a deep conviction that
one of the basic purposes of the church was to help people less fortunate than herself.

No matter how busy we are or how many problems we have, we can all find little ways to bring cheer to those around us--like bringing home a rose for your wife, a special
treat for the children, a favor for a neighbor. Visit someone who is shut-in. Write a note, use your telephone, or send an email to tell a friend you appreciate him or
her. Words of encouragement and acts of kindness do wonders for both the giver and the receiver.

A vital part of finding happiness and contentment is found in discovering something more important than yourself to believe in, by helping others, and by directing your
thoughts and actions towards them. Egotists are seldom happy.

Love and friendship are also essential for giving life meaning and purpose. Without wholesome relationships, which give us a sense of belonging, we live as islands alone in a very large universe.

So take time for friends. They are a priceless asset in life. "Do you want to make friends?" asks Dale Carnegie, who gives the following advice. "Be friendly. Forget
yourself. You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you."

And remember, as another has said, "the person all wrapped up in himself makes a mighty small package."

"Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint" (Isaiah 40:31, niv).

Another way for enriching your personal life is by investing your life in a worthwhile cause. Everybody needs something to live for that is bigger than him or herself--a noble or worthwhile cause into which he can put his best efforts.

A few years ago I was going through a particularly difficult time. Had it not been for both my work and an outside project, I'm sure I would have cracked under the
strain. My work is helping people discover broader personal and spiritual values and my outside project was building my own home--both worthwhile causes.

A creative use of one's talents is also essential for giving meaning to life. God gave us all talents to use. When we aren't using them, we feel unfulfilled.
One man I know was very successful in his work but he was feeling very unfulfilled in it. He felt his job was too small and that he wasn't using his best talents. So he took the risk, quit his job and went back to college to train for the work he really wanted to do. He struggled for several years but today he has built a work that is helping many people and this has greatly enhanced his purpose for living.

This is why I believe it is important to discover what your best talent is (or talents are), get the training you need to sharpen that talent, and find a place where you can use it--either in your job, in a hobby, in your church, or with a volunteer organization. God's purpose for your life will definitely involve the use of your gifts and talents in ways to help others.

Faith, hope, and charity. The poet Goethe lists nine requisites for meaningful living. They are as follows: "Health enough to make work a pleasure. Wealth enough to
support your needs. Strength enough to battle with difficulties and overcome them. Grace enough to confess your sins and forsake them. Patience enough to toil until
some good is accomplished. Charity enough to see some good in your neighbor. Love enough to move you to be useful and helpful to others. Faith enough to make real the things of God. Hope enough to remove all anxious fears concerning the future."

There is, I am sure, no greater way to increase your hope for the future and enrich your personal life than by learning to love others more fully, by developing a vital
faith in God, and discovering and fulfilling your God-given life purpose. Why not tell God right now that you want to do that and confirm your decision by becoming more involved as a volunteer in community service, a mission organization, and/or in your church or chapel. If you are not involved in a local church, ask God to help you find the church that is right for you.

my kitchen currently has no cupboards:D it has no plate, no spoons, no detergent. it has only one sink, one mirror and one refrigerator. hahaha:D and once again, my living quarters is confined to my dear adorable messy room:D and my desk has no light. hahahha.
just came back home. hahaha. what a tiring day:)
was on the bus with grace on the way home...with another of her band friend. corny pple! nice talking to grace 'cos haven't talked to her for some time. hahaa. she's funny. cracks me up. i was asking her how melody is...and then she was like sharing about how melody is staying in the same hostel house with some singaporeans (she's in australia now...) and the singaporeans are like...really pampered at home. haha. so there was this girl, she was trying to cook an egg, she switched on the stove, put on the pan and cracked the egg. what's missing? the fire! and she insists that gas can cook an egg.
and another girl, she came home and then she was like 'why's there so much gas? who's trying to kill us? who? who??!'
i was like. oh gosh! hahaha. it's quite amusing the way she narrates it. and her band friend stays at bukit timah. i didn't know..so i asked him where he stays. and he was like 'very near toa payoh' and i was like 'wherE?' and he said 'bukit timah..very near. just across the road.' and then i was like 'across the road?' and he says 'yah. PIE':P
oh! and david yeo stays at the unit beneath grace...and sylvester used to go to david's house and they'll sing the whole block off. hahaha:D
and of course. we both agree that jeassea is good. *nods to self*
anyway. i feel so bad! hahaha. i borrowed jiali's maths promos paper to practice...and i couldn't find it this morning to return to her! hahaha. and in using up the time to find it, i was still stuck at home at 8am. hahaa. and i was supposed to meet mr chan at 8.30am. hahaha. changed the appointment to 9.30am. then i missed the bus... and reached school only at... 9.50am 'cos i thought i could take the dustbin way but it was locked. hahaha:D
oh! writing an econs essay in merely 35 mins can get you 16 marks! but mr chan says my macro essays seem to have the points...but is not direct enough. like i have the points but it's kinda faint, there but not there, enough to get me through but not a good grade. gotta improve!
and then there was bio. bio was good. refreshed my memory. hahaa. combination of august cum mrs teo cracks me up too. and then i decided to sit in for gp 'cos i tend to remember what i hear better. yeah. got mr lee to evaluate my essay too:P he says that i should be chewing an a grade by now. but 'cos i'm very naughty. never follow what he says in class. thus my scope and balance still needs practice. ah well. i realise i tend to be micro, not really macro. which is BAD. with a huge capital B! italicized and bold. with flashing neon lights around it.
anyway. it's quite tiring 'cos econs was 30mins (to get mr chan to discuss and mark my essays!), bio was 2 hours and gp was another 2. gosh. my brain. hahaha. saturation kinetics.
just came back from my 7-11 trip:D to get mashed potato and 100-plus and pretzel bits and mashed potato again and coffee. to keep me up to finish up my 2 econs essay and maybe study even more! hahahaha. saw yewluck...heh. he said hello before i even realised he was there. strange. 'cos in school we dun say hi to each other. hahaa. i asked him if he was studying till so late. he said he just came back home. hohoho.
out of impulse and curiosity, i went to http://xiaxue.blogspot.com and nearly fainted. it was worse than mr lee seemed to have described. haha. dun go. she'll just remind you of the queen in snow-white and the seven dwalves.
neighbours came to my house just now to look at the finished toilet. house felt like it's under display. hahaha:D

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.
So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full.
They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full.
The students responded with a unanimous "yes."
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided,I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things - God, your family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else - the small stuff."
If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room >for the pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you."
"Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18 holes once in a while. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first -the things that really matter."
"Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked," he said. "It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a cup of coffee with a
friend."
cat's sleeping in my room right now...hehehe. bathroom and toilet are done! yeah:D finally! hahaha. still no lights nor heater though:) and still no kitchen:D hahaha:D it's like the only purpose for the kitchen is to bathe and go to the toilet.
was on the bus when i saw vj girls and one of the girls was sitting in a very odd manner and when she opens her mouth, gosh. lots of. hmm. dirt. pretty girls with a foul mouth turn pple off. it's like polluting the language itself. it's already bad enough that we don't really have a strong command of how the language goes (which is really quite sad. hahaha:D but i guess it can't really be helped. i would love to learn more about different languages)...but to actually further destroy it. sigh. and it doesn't even sound nice:P it's like adding dirt to a beautiful piece of art.

heh. we came to the end of the Acts series yesterday!:D sparked off a lot of thinking. the race. really hope to see everyone ending the race together too:) that we can say for certain that we WILL see each other for eternity. that truly, a friend's a friend forever if the Lord's the Lord of them. race on. for no obstacle is too great when Jesus is with you.
studied with joycelyn today. think i'm very distracting. hahaha. forgot to bring my dear adorable econs tys so can't do my econs essay. did maths and bio:) can't wait for maths session with mr ho to clear up complex numbers and stats. wrote a lot of nonsense/non-nonsense on joycelyn's paper. upside down. my upside down handwriting is really improving.
the cat which keeps coming to my house for food and shelter is VERY NAUGHTY. she was in the house, then i was patting her. then i saw a flicker of shadow going past the door and i was like 'eh? what's tt?' then i saw ANOTHER CAT (black and white) outside the door. gosh. then the cat which keeps coming to my house saw and ran outside to scratch tt cat. so bad! cat fight:P had to really restrain the cat which keeps coming to my house. and she was growling away. naughty cat.
i really like my new windows. dun have to open them to see the scenery outside:) silent barrier.
this is my class:D

this is from mr ho. hahaha. hohoho merry christmas:D encouraging?:)

'hmmm, can't remember if i said this... BUT, yes, it's good to try your best for A level preparation. Many of you are also gearing towards an A for Math. Good! BUT, fact of life is, not all of you will get A's. So be realistic. Don't be disappointed too if that happens to you. 5 years down the road, who cares what your results are. Believe me when I say that while I may be disappointed FOR you, I will NOT be disappointed WITH you. Ok? 'cos now and then I will have students coming forward (esp during release of A level results) to 'apologise' for 'disappointing' me. ??? All of you are individuals and results don't say much about u.'

yeah! i'm back home!:D hahahaha. how fun:D hahaha. i have my own room back! okay. and new windows:D *peers at windows* new restructure room after As. that's good.
farewell assembly yesterday! another 2 years gone, just like that. wow. i thought i'll never see this day, but it has already come and go. quite an amusing presentation put up by the fac caps and the bands and anu and his friend. haha. and draco is the champion house of the year! hahaha. my class is extra proud 'cos we're supposed to be a strong class:D hahaha.
mass dance was a little disappointing 'cos they didn't start with whiney whiney. whiney whiney brings everyone together..ah well. and they didn't have neutron dance...so sad. hahaha. we were hoping to dance our hearts out for the last time but ah well.
mr chan was very funny during the ct session. he was like 'must look at all of you one more time' haha. and then he went 'i won't miss you all now. i'll miss you all when you're gone.' awww. he says we're the naughtiest class he's had. then said something about how he used to envy those teachers who teach S1 classes 'cos apparently they're all very guai and how apparently econs with bio is a different matter. hahaha. subversive elements, niece, nonsense and all, i think he'll still miss our class:P hahaa.
took lots of photos with everyone around. heh. junior class was quite sweet, bought us cake. coffee cake:P i have no comments on their choice of cake. but nevertheless, the cake looked well decorated.
i'm starting to miss jc life already. hahahahaha. it really felt like a shotgun relationship with the school or something. gosh. feelings can of course, be deceiving too:)
the j1s this year are SO DIFFERENT from us. gosh. dunno how to comment on it. wonder what vj will become. and this year's sec 4s are... well. dunno what to say also. wonder why the feel differs from year to year. siao, sien, sian and slack really describe my batch really well:P

Thursday, October 14, 2004

very interesting. i'm quite confused about a lot of things right now. hahahha. the telephone game is going on.
anyway, borrowed sloman and this apparently very good bio textbook. since i'm deprived of my dear adorable notes, i figured this is the best way to get some studying done while i'm in my aunt's house with its conducive studying environment. i wonder if i've typed this out before, but there was a quote at the back of the door of the room i'm staying in now which says 'the ability to discipline yourself to delay gratification in the short term in order to enjoy greater rewards in the long term, is the indispensible prerequisite for success.'
yeah:D
zara was telling us about how her friend is engaged and getting married next yr in tues and it's an arranged engagement and even though the guy is 20 and is a businessman and is quite good looking, her friend was crying everyday 'cos she didn't want to get married. and lubna is getting engaged next year and how it's supposed to be this year but she rejected all the offers of proposal. gosh. how scary. i'm glad i'm not from some wealthy family in india or pakistan or iran or something.like. what? u get married now? so many more things to do:P yeah well. poor girl.
-yeah thunder only happens when it's raining

when the rain washes you clean you'll know

at home now!
i'm missing my home. hahaha. or rather the convenience of my home. had to come back everyday to get worksheets i need.
buying food has turned from something adventurous, to quite a burden. gotta think of what food to eat, what foods not to eat...it's still all about the balance. hahaha:D which means... conscious taking in of more vegetables and fruits! a horror to some people:D
it's really true. when you have more freedom, you'll tend to set the rules yourself. lord of the flies. how to survive with no rules??? my life will go absolutely haywire:)
colour scheme for this sat is orange! yeah! hahaha.
but i really wanna thank God for my aunt. heh. really ah. if it's not for her house, my sister and i would have to stay in a hotel room for one whole week. or rather 10 days. hahahaha. sounds so cool right. i stay in a hotel;)
ohhhhhhhhhhhh
tummyache. time to go aunt's house.

Tuesday, October 12, 2004

we just had a 2 hour maths session with mr ho. quite funny. mr ho's in a good mood. he went 'e^2, e^2' to us and then went 'quickly. i'm so bored i'm rocking to entertain myself' quite funny.
was doing complex numbers. disastrous. hahaha:D
yeah well. stayed over at my aunt's house yesterday. quite a nice room to study in and sleep. more sleeping than studying i guess. hahaha. very nice scenery 'cos she lives on the 20th floor. feels like u're in the city, yet out of the city. and cool to know that if u're hungry, the whole toa payoh central is just a walk away. there were 4 dwarf hamsters at her house. hahaha. but all of them looked a little scruffy. and they all ran away when i put my hand near the cage. how friendly:)
second day of eating outside food. this is becoming quite an adventure...searching for new foods to eat everyday, and trying to balance your meals. hahahha:)

how disgusting. i dun like coke. and steph is still printing out stuff. and i'm falling asleep:) hehehehe:D

You're the color blue. You have the three c's in
life--you're cool, caring and confident.
Trustworthy and honest, people are naturally
attracted to you. You're unusually optimistic,
but that makes life all the better. You're an
imaginative person who loves sleeping and
dreaming. Hard-working and determined, you
excel in school. You're everybody's favorite,
and this is because you have this undefined
richness in your personality and attitude.
Mild-tempered and stable. Not to mention very
intelligent. Along with the fact that you're
conservative, you're worried about the
environment. So basically, you're a generous,
dependable and devoted--just the kind of person
everybody needs. Wouldn't it be great if
everybody in the world were like you?

What color are you? (Amazingly detailed & accurate--with pics!)

hahaha! look at the line hardworking and determined! i'm determined. but i'm not so sure about hardworking;)
hmm. in school typing this out now. 'cos my whole entire room is under plastic sheets as well. hahahaha:D will be staying over at my aunt's house tonight...saw worship cds in my 2nd cousin's room:) shall steal her books to read! muahahha. oh. and she has like almost all of the channels on scv. what a temptation! hahaha. and it's in her room! where i'll be studying. oh gosh.
nahhhh. can't tempt me:P mind's in too much of a structure to watch tv continuously. my only show today is zai shen yuan. and my only show tmr night is STILL zai shen yuan. on wed night, the tv is but a black box which reflects its surroundings on its face:)
sure feels weird walking around with shoes in your own house. shall treat it as though i'm living in the hostel. how thrilling.
can't sleep:D hahaha. shall do qt:D too much sunshine today. delays my inner clock by a few hours. i dunno if that's good or bad:D hahahaha:D good i guess. more time to do more things:)
-so we cry
holy, worthy, glory, majesty,
You reign on high,
high above all the earth
You are my God
my Lord and King-

Sunday, October 10, 2004

my house is in a mess. total horrendous mess which makes me feel a tad miserable. like my whole entire house is reduced to three rooms. confined space. restricted movement. having a house which doesn't feel entirely yours anymore. my poor house. and plastic sheets are all over the place. perfect setting for an old abandoned flat in a horror movie.
-there's a calf with mournful eye-
okay. 60 seconds over. hahaha:D
studied with joycelyn and her friends te se and te qin (twin sisters!) today. quite..eh. strange. 'cos dunno te se and te qin personally. but quite okay...hahaha:D lakerol --- makes people talk ;)
then both of them left...so i'm stuck with joycelyn. saw the very bored librarian who keeps walking around the library like 500-600 times throughout the day everytime we go to marine parade library to study:) think he's just bored:) seems to be quite nice with the kids. oh!!! saw a very adorable little girl today who has an eurasian look and a chinese mother. think she's got mixed blood in her:D her eyes are.. BIG AND DEEP AND SOULFUL. very enchanting lil girl.
then we moved to bk. hahaha. it was apparently the 'peak period' for toilet-going..'cos the toilets are mostly full. i found it quite amusing.
learnt how to make the star using the straws today. my second attempt at making a star without instructions was...well. hmmm. hard to handle. hahahaha:D
sometimes talking to my sister is like incurring a volcano's fury.
hmmm. was just trying to look for my physical geog book to find out what kinda volcano gives the loudest explosion when i decided to flip through mckean from sec 4 for fun and realised that mckean actually HAS jc stuff. which is kinda amusing 'cos we seemed to have learnt some stuff before but i simply can't remember:)
at this moment, i'm supposed to be on 31 on my way to marine parade lib to study..instead, i'm still happily stuck at home printing out the bio stuff needed to be done by tomorrow:) brilliant:)
anyway, i had quite a nice morning, except for the fact that the volcano erupted in my house and i got slightly burnt:P walked to the market and said hi to my parents, had a nice quiet breakfast at my own pace (gosh. haven't had tt in quite a while:D), walked around the market 'cos they just renovated the whole place, bought some stuff, can't find slippers and then walked home again. nice weather we have today:) i wish i can cycle...if i can, i'll prob be out cycling right now. wonderful weather to swim too. 'cept that the swimming pool will prob be relatively fuller than during the weekdays. which makes swimming not as enjoyable.
off to study i go!
Check it... you're Simon Kanaloa!

hehe. was on 238 with Christine from north just now.. we never saw each other in our whole entire lives before coming to Hope and we've never realised how close we live within the radius of each other till today. she lives at block 224, i live at block 228:D
hahaha. so farnie:)
had service today:D haven't seen shirley leading p&w for quite some time...haha. they put up a very nice little clip with verses incorporated into it:) quite adorable, but it got its point across:)
so fast. gosh. we're coming to the end of the Acts power for living series...so fast. hahaha. last chapter next week:) so cool. one year plus...gosh. and yeah! we're gonna be doing 'song of songs' soon:D hahaha:D the first ever book that caught my attention:)
heh. studying at starhub after service wasn't particularly effective. was quite sleepy. hehehe. tried rj bio mcq paper. horrendous. got strange terms popping up tt i didn't realise. oh gosh. can u imagine? i've also gotta do nyj's killer paper. hahaha:D
i love the night air. so cooling. smell the night air as it wafts in the window. i love the morning air too...that's why it's always so refreshing to take a nice morning walk. hahaha. and i love the sharpness of the night. clearly defined.

:)
had shepherding in the morn:) heh. quite farnie.
then went to sch and wrote an econs essay!:D quite fun to write an econs essay with the real test of time at your feet. guess having to go to school in the day is turning out to be quite good..'cos you're forced to practice during the day and this increases productivity:D hahha:D
yeah! my voice is officially back:) or have i mentioned it before? hahaa:)
i am in a studying mood. hahaha:) oh guess what?! the school library has narnia! hahaha:)
borrowed the forth and fifth book from the library. yeah:) can read during my breaks:) rest my brain:) my brain likes to auto switch itself off these days when thinking is not really necessarily. then what happens is that i go a bit nutty. hahaha:)

Thursday, October 07, 2004

gee. the world is really small:)
i went to fungi's blog, then saw jo's name..then i was like. jo has a blog? then i clicked on it. and realised tt it's the wrong jo. hahaha:D then i saw panghao's name on the blog. like 'huh? how come the whole world knows my pri sch classmate? hahaha!' then from panghao's blog, i saw arya. and arya is trace's other and of course trace is my twinklebells! hahaa.
yeah well.
-now here we go again you say
you want your freedom
well who am i to keep you down
it's only right that you should play the way you feel it
and listen carefully to the sound
to the loneliness of your heartbeat
drives you mad
in the stillness of remembering what you had
and what you lost-
i'm in a song mood! caught three pple's performance on singapore idol... christopher's song was good...but his singing was terrible. say so many times already. he doesn't have the voice to carry the song through. and olinda came on and gosh! i love her performance. hahaha:D superb vocals and the song she chose makes you wanna grooooove. then sylvester. haha. his singing surprised me actually. ok. maybe i shld change my opinion of him. today's rendition was quite good too:)
yeahhhhhh.
mentally tiring day...but quite fun nevertheless. or rather, quite funny when you see a whole row of your classmates sitting behind you. hahaha:D my class is so ke lian!
i'm pleased with myself with trigo. hahaha:D very pleased:D hahaha:D okay. i sound funny being pleased with myself without saying anything. but hahaha. what can i say? i'm just pleased with trigo:D hahaha. gosh. i sound a lil mad. think the cg pple must have been wondering why i kept laughing during cg. ah well:D
and i still insist that zai shen yuan is a good show to watch:) the intricate plot...the easy to understand analogies...the link of relationships and how things link well in a complexed web:)
cat was sleeping in my house. poor cat. nowhere to sleep now that construction is everywhere. speaking of construction...i can't come home next week! hahaha. my house'll be under renovations. major renovations:P gosh. feels so odd. will be in my auntie's house most of the time. (can't go home before 6pm everyday) hahaha:D hope i dun get distracted and keep watching scv at her house. cartoons and armed reaction 4!
nah. dun think so. hahaha. this is a plea for pple to study with me next week. hahaha:D
-God is good, all the time
He puts a song of praise in this heart of mine
God is good, all the time
in the darkest nights, His light will shine
God is good, He's so good,
all the time-
i had a headache today. hahaha. then i prayed:D and the headache poofed and disappeared within a min:D enjoyed the fellowship of the brothers and sister without a headache after that:D hahaha:D thank God!

Monday, October 04, 2004

i can't wait for tmr! hahaa. first of all, there's the activity that mr leeba has promised us in place of morning assembly tmr morning. *grInz* he kept saying that we'll be VERY STRESSED for around 20 mins, but at the end of it all, we'll feel good about ourselves:) like. ehhh...what can it be? anyway, seems like only my class pple are interested enough to raise their hands and want to go, my class will prob be the only class going.
yeah:D and mrs teo bought us cornetto ice cream! hahaha. she's funny. she was like asking how much time she has left, the someone told her 2 mins...and then she said 'can i use the 2 mins to digress?' then the bell rang. hahaha. ah well. then she looked like this child who's very satisfied with herself giving a surprise to everyone (very funny!:D haahaha! mrs teo cracks me up:D) and she said she got ice cream for us. and she said since she gave it to us, we owe her something. haha. and dominique guessed about the A. 'cos the ice cream cone is V-shaped...so it's like we must have victory in the exams! and an inverted A...so it's like we all owe her an A.
hahaha:D yeah! ice cream tmr!
gosh. i was quite surprised at my bio results. thought i was dead for certain 'cos of structured and prac. hahha:D oh my! MCQ really pulled me up. for bio, it's not easy to fail. but it's not easy to get an A either.
anyway, maths was funny too. hahaha. it's like we had a crash course on complex numbers 'cos it seems that most pple didn't study complex numbers. hahaha. the end of the lesson saw many pple going out of class to ask mr ho for a session for complex numbers. hahaha.
finally returned mrs wee the money! hahaha. hard to catch her. she's the hod of pccg...and she helped me pay first. hehee.
yeah:) my programme for the next 3 weeks is super packed. the teachers planned out my studying schedule for me. hahhaa.
hehehe. just talked to sister's friend called yahui. hahaha:D she's a year older than me and was in nyj taking arts... she knows bowen and rara and sining! hahaha:D rara and sining were my basketball seniors...and she knows carrie too! hahaha. through bowen. hmmm. apparently 'cos they were together... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. i didn't know that. haha.
ah well. anyway, she's in nus taking social work now:D hehee. so huichun! if u see a girl called ya3 hui4, can talk to her:D hahaha:D
anyway, studied with joycelyn today. hehe. cancelled it at first, but then..ah well. haha. did trigo for the whole day! gosh. trigo became fun:D hahaa. the back part of the specimen paper wasn't very morale boosting:P i looked at it, i was like:P and stats needs practice..once i haven't touched it much, i forget about it. so sad! and i love stats so much! hahaha:D
yeah well. when i was going home, we saw the bus stop area being cordoned off and 2 trucks of policemen being unloaded and four police cars along the road side and lots of people staring at what's happening. it's quite a scary sight. actually we also dunno wat happened...but heard from someone tt there's a riot. a riot?O_o in singapore? gosh. ehhh. well.
hahha. i reached home safely anyway. hope whatever was happening ceased off. we're all singaporeans what, why fight amongst outselves?:)

Sunday, October 03, 2004

oooh. i sound disgruntled in my last post:D a disgruntled janitor in the mob factory has a red aura and usually LACERATES. hahahha. think only a few pple will know what i'm talking abt. or maybe just jits. hahaha.
sec 4 maths is making me vomit out blood. hahahaha:D and the specimen paper boosts up ur morale. and i feel hungry at such an hour. disastrous. and i feel awake. and God is my Jehovah Jireh! hahaha. He provides! gosh. was severely lacking in financial resources and was praying for God to help me. hahaha. 'cos i need to pay for this workshop thing by monday to mrs wee (gosh. it's mrs wee and not mrs lee...been looking for the wrong person) and it's $50+++ (can't remember the exact amount..think it's more like $65) and i'm like dying 'cos i have a total of -ve goodness-knows-how-much for normal expenses ('cos i owed jits money for the cds first). and i kept reminding myself 'what i dun have, i dun need' hahaha. and -God is good, all the time-, my mum gave me money! haha. and pple returned the money they owed me. i still have to cover the rest myself but i've still got enough to *yumyum*.
thank God! i tell u ah. really amazing. hahaha.
i wish i'll stop the haha-ing and the hehe-ing...they've become punctuations in my sentences. ah well.

Saturday, October 02, 2004

gee. my sister just passed me 'lime' and even lime agrees with me that JEASSEA SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN IN. and BEVERLY GOT A GOOD VOICE. this is what they say about jeassea:
'if there were ever a poster girl for Singapore Idol, it'd be Jeassea. Armed with the right looks, a strong voice and oodles of charisma, she definitely raises the bar in this competition. Judging from her polished rendition of Aretha Franklin's notoriously difficult 'Chain of Fools', she's also one of the few contestants who's able to nail the more uptempo numbers without missing a beat...'
and about beverly:
'Correct me if i'm wrong but this IS a singing competition, right? How then do you explain a wonderful singer like Beverly getting the boot?...'
and this is what they say about jerry;)
'This accountant-turned-busker-turned-dubious Top 12 Finalist caused a MAJOR UPROAR when he wheedled his way past powerhouses like Nana and Beverly in the last piano show. What's worse, his lacklustre and totally unspectacular version of 'To Love Somebody' was nowhere near the quality of the two ousted divas.'
ah well. i just think it's kinda unfair that good singers like Jeassea and Beverly got out in the first round of the finals. Singapore can't recognise talents when they see them:P
oh. and this is stupid. urban exchange is changing their name to Parking Lot Pimp. with darren hayes' new disastrous song 'Popular' and urban exchange changing to such a stupid name, i wonder how the music scene is going to survive in the future. the second law of thermodynamics is very much in motion here.
oh bother. and lime is getting more and more thrashy. can't stand these stupid magazines. yuck:P
"Even now my witness is in heaven. My advocate is there on high. My friends scorn me, but I pour out my tears to God" (Job 16:19-20, nlt).

A Daily Encounter reader who has been hurt deeply asks, "Do you have any insight into dealing with the strong emotions that arise from being deeply hurt and wounded?

Dear Fred (not his real name), one way you can help "drain the pain" of hurt feelings is to write out your feelings. David did this in several of his Psalms. I think he was a man after God's own heart because of his being open and honest with himself and with God. When you write, write as if you are writing a letter to the one who hurt you. Express all your feelings in all their intensity to this person. Then read the letter to God telling him that this is exactly the way you feel (he knows it anyhow);then tear up the letter and destroy it. Write again and again
doing the same thing until all your hurt and angry feelings are dissipated. But never, never, never send one of these letters to anybody. At a later time, should you feel a need to write or contact the person in question, remember always to write and speak the truth in love;never in anger.
God also gave us tears to help drain the pain of hurt feelings. So give yourself permission to weep with all your heart for until we have learned to weep with all our heart, we are not free to love with all our heart either. Tears, however, are for expressing grief ... not anger. Anger needs to be expressed in writing, verbalized, or both.

Also, everyone needs at least one person he/she can trust implicitly with whom to share his/her feelings. It needs to be an understanding and caring person who listens and accepts us with all our hurt and angry feelings but won't give us advice, preach at us, or tell us what we should or shouldn't do or feel. And, if necessary, have several sessions with a qualified Christian counselor to help you
work through and resolve your feelings.

And of course be sure to tell God exactly how you feel and to lead you to the help you need to resolve your hurt and angry feelings so you can get to a point of genuine
forgiveness. Failing to forgive will only hurt you. It's "like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die."

heh. the cat's at my door sleeping.
dunno wat to do with her. ah well.
i got a mini shock when i went down to the english resource room for gp...hahha. saw like 2/3 of the whole class sitting outside the resource with mr lee talking about cohabitation. then i did something stupid, went up to mr lee and said 'oh! i didn't realise that gp starts early today.':P
then i saw serene and thongkheng on the other side of the space outside the english resource room. hahaha:D then i went to join them. realised tt the 2/3 of my dear adorable class is having 'friends of mr lee' class. hehe. then me and serene and thongkheng, michelle and hui xiang were like at the other side waiting for gp lessons to officially start. mr lee mentioned tt 2/7 couples get divorced... then huixiang went 'if so many pple get divorced, why get married in the first place?' and i was thinking about my cousin and j. hmm.
gp... sat beside pat and mich and was writing in serene's book..hahaha:D she did a very nice autograph book thing, pasted the photos in the book and divided it in sections. like a mini collage of all her memories in vj, together with photos and notes from her friends.
watched the results of singapore idol just now. hmmm. i dun think i agree with what has happened. jeassea and beverly both should have gotten in! gosh. what a waste. i like maia's style of singing 'lady marmalade'..didn't catch yesterday's performance but heard the highlights and all... and it was quite good. olinda got a nice voice for her song as well:) okay. i'm biased. i still think sylvester can't sing. so sad that candice drew out! my sister says there're rumours that she's pregnant. pregnant? how odd.
-and some people want it all,
but i don't want none of it all,
if it ain't you baby,
if i ain't got you baby-
hahaa. zai shen yuan is starting to pick up on channel u:D they showed the sleeping on the arm scene. more to come soon!
off to do my work. ladeeeda.
watching 'pooh's grand adventure'...very sweet! very nice:D hahaha.
i found this beside my bag after my trip to the toilet. hahaha. since no one was left around me and the nearest person in the canteen was... 3 tables away, i decided to take it with me and give due recognition to what is written instead of letting it float around for a long time yet, vulnerable to the weathering that occurs so rapidly in singapore.
it is supposed to be for 04S22...which is quite interesting since all the j1s dun seem to be in school today. anyway, it says to 04S22 (goodness knows how they're going to find it.)
'Dear 04S22, as you grow up, may you not lose that child in you. Live young and die young. Happy Children's Day and all the best for your promos!:)
chanks 1 Oct 2004'
hmm. who's chanks? anyway. i read through what was on the paper and it sounded true so i've decided to type it down:D
here goes:
'Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life.
Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite, for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of sixty more than a boy of twenty. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear,self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.
Whether sixty of sixteen, there is in every human being's heart the lure of wonder, the unfailing child-like appetite of what's next, and the joy of the game of living. In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station; so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long are you young.
When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at twenty, but as long as your aerials are up, to catch the waves of optimism, there is hope you may die young at eighty.'
i dunno where everyone is. steph and lydia are not around. zara is nowhere to be seen. i have a sneaking suspicion that everyone else is either scattered around (of which they can't be found. strange), studying away, not in school yet or they've all gone to join the 'friends of mr lee' club due to their gp prelim results. hmmm. and here i am, spending my time typing this out. let me join shasta in the world of Narnia then.
