O_o'
ehhhh? dun remember logging in to get their tickets:P
prac today! hahaha. if today's prac was 'do-able' according to mrs teo, i'd rather not think about how the prelim papers will turn out to be. hahaha:D
prac was absolutely disastrous!
actually the concepts are quite alright... just that there doesn't seem to be enough time. either that or some parts of the experiments are quite... hmm. i dunno wat to say. hahaha. i spent too much time on the slides at first ('cos i had the microscope first) and i really thought i had quite a lot of time at hand until things started to get haywire. hahaha:D first, my onion epidermis (izzit? can't remember) kept curling itself up and i think the cells kinda destroyed themselves (goodness knows how) and cell material just kept coming out in shreds. hahah. and i was happily picking up my methyleneblue vial when the cover came off and the whole vial dropped to the floor and methyleneblue spashed everywhere. for your information, methyleneblue is used to stain dna/rna. thankew.
so halfway through the prac, i had a radical new design for my school uniform...then i continued with my experiments and added the lipase to the wrong solutions and had to redo it again. *grInz*. and i missed out a 6 marks section which looked inconspicuous (really!) 'cos it was at the very end of qn 1.
ah well. i found the whole day quite amusing though. there's this pe teacher who helped us order food and got the drinks store uncle to come into lt1 to sell peelfresh 'cos there was demand for food and drinks and with demand comes supply.
the library was surprisingly empty today. goodness knows why. then i went to kfc to study. yeah. studying alone is more effective. but lonely:(
go read dancing's post. hahahaha:D she's very nice to wait for me to finish typing this so she can read it. hahaha:D
i was looking at the cocoons and thinking
'if God can provide such unique protection for a small insect such as a silkwork (which will become a silkmoth), what more can He provide for all of us, created in His image, His beloved creation?'
really wanna thank God for the teachers i have in school. it's like, we've got the best tutors or something. we've got mr chan, who's a really understanding tutor who doesn't seem like a tutor, but is a friend to us instead, someone who knows what we're going through, someone who has been in the same environment as us and understands our mindsets, someone who is genuine in his actions and care for the students. then we've got mr ho, a dedicated and hardworking teacher who could have taken the easy way out in teaching maths but chose instead to heap lots of frustration and anxiety upon himself as he goes through every question in the tutorial, explaining the concepts, making sure we're clear of the foundations, and yet trying to meet the dateline which the HOD of maths will set (of course, we always seem to miss it.) a teacher who tries to connect with us (by emails, by what he said) but somehow lacks a little more knowledge in doing so. he tries hard though. and then we have mrs teo, hod of biology. i'll never forget how she came into class and told us 'regardless of your performance last year, this year is this year and this year, we all start anew.' and all her stuff about how when we love the subject, we try our best to love the topics which we do not particularly like as well. and all her little facts about everything in biology which will really spark off an interest in us and inspire us to know more than what we have to learn. and her humour which will tickle all of us and makes her out to be a teacher who's personal and still have a childlikeness in her which amazes me sometimes. a very honest teacher who tries to think things from our perspectives (eg. 'eh...i don't quite understand why you all need to talk in lectures, what do you all think about it?') and she'll have that puzzled expression which causes the whole class to laugh once more. stressless lessons. and we have mr lee! hahaha. active advocator of judo. i think if he can, he'll let us watch movies all day long and let us surf websites with political humour. a teacher whom, at the moment, i can't really say much of... but i'm sure glad that he always books the english resource room (with its comfortable sofas and cooling aircon) for our gp lessons. cynical sometimes as he is, he still shows his worry for us occasionally (like before the prelims. hahaa). a teacher with a wide range of knowledge and certainly very interesting to talk to if you're bored.
:)
yeah. tt's all. tata.

hohoho:)
went for 1st service with jits today. we missed praise 'cos we were late. hehehe:D God spoke through pastor lawrence to the whole congregation, then spoke through pastor ben specifically to 3 individuals and the congregation and spoke through mabel (chairperson for tt service) to confirm what pastor ben said. i wonder how the three people feel, to have God specifically talking through the pastor to them, to reach out to them especially during worship today. the God of creation caring so much about us. wow.
sermon was the same as yesterday's!:D *grInz* but different preachers bring different perspectives. and they have different styles!:D so privileged to be able to know more about this passage:D
jits and i wanted to go down to fat mamas to eat but to our surprise, it wasn't open. hahaa. as in the metal gate was down. then we peered in and we saw this old auntie...so i asked if they're opening the shop today and she replied in the affirmative but explained that the lady boss and her family have not arrived yet but she invited us to sit down first:D very friendly auntie. hahaha:D so we sat in fat mamas with the metal gate still down. i bet everyone outside were wondering what we're doing inside when the shop's not open. hahaha:D yeah well:)
pastor dinah has got a good memory! haha. 'cos we were eating and we were all alone in fat mamas and she and her twins were looking for food or something like that and we said hi and she was like 'hi! what's so special about this place today?' and we chatted. haha. we commented that she has a good memory 'cos she remembers that we're from vj and all from the time we talked to her. haha.
saw derek, tom and bowen too! haha. quite funny. nvm.
then me and jits wanted to find a place to study but we couldn't really decide on which place. we went to OG and walked around and loitered and looked around and talked nonsense. hahahaa. jits said tt in the house next time we shall all choose the colours of our towels:D and i want a humidifier! haha. and she wants quilts. and we have different opinions on scents. what she finds nice, i find it yucky and vice versa. whee.
time passed and then it was 1.30pm! hahaha. actually we partly loitered for the time to pass so that i can get the camp photos from joy to look at. *grInz* me and jits parted ways...she went to bk to study first and i walked to meridian foodcourt to look for joy to get the photos. haha.
turns out tt the photos were with sharon and we had to wait for her to reach the foodcourt first. met small weishan and big weishan and yiping (this girl who looks quite young but actually she's graduated! cool hairstyle) for the very first time. haha:)yeah. and sharon came. and with sharon came ziwei(told her she seems to have slimmed down...then added that it could also be that i'm used to seeing ziyu...oh no! she'll kill me! hahaha:D) and carrie and mingxiu and and this girl called cuifen (whom i met for the first time too). yeah. saw junting too:D she wanted to sit on me 'cos there were no more seats:|
yeah. then wanted to go and find jits but she decided to go back to the hostel 'cos she's too tired. and i went back home and conked out for a few hours too. hahahah:D
i told God quite a lot of things today. time to turn conviction into action!
how troublesome.
my estate is going through this major upgrading thing and my house is going to have construction workers walking in and out of my flat for a whole 10 days (5th Oct - 15th Oct) 'cos they're going to change the kitchen windows or something:| and i'll have no bathroom nor toilet nor convenient water supply. ho-humm. how fun. hahaha.
going to disturb my aunt during those 10 days. hahaha. but how troublesome!

-i love the way You love me
how You turn my life around
set my feet to dancing
it's in You that i am found-
'i'm talking to my twin now', that's what she suggested i type. hahaha:D
ah well. had service today:D hahaa. before tt had info counter:D quite fun:) after getting the 'lost and found' boxes out of the cupboard and settling down, i had nothing much to do 'cos timothy(cheery brother) did the rest of the stuff and the bulletin wasn't here yet.
oh! the 'lost and found' box had very interesting stuff. hahaha. 'cos i was being curious and was peeking through the box and all.. there had this book with sermons for kids and they have questions like 'will my dog go to heaven?' and 'do i have to like the kid who stole my baseball card?' oh! was doing this duty with this sister called jolin (or jolene) from rjc and she was from ny and she was from track! gosh. i've joined all sorts of ccas but never track. haha. and she's in long distance running. gosh. haha.
...
love can be expressed in many ways, but through the action, it's felt the deepest.
i felt love for the whole entire week.
thank you:)
and thank You:)

i broke another record today! not a good thing though. i found a book i thought i've lost and returned it to the school library, 244 days late. should have reported it lost and bought them a new book instead. hah. the librarian agrees with me. *nods to self*
oh! saw serene in school. haha. and mingxian. and lynette with hanfeng. mingxian was sitting alone and looking at lynette and hanfeng and grinning away 'cos well. haha.
i never knew i'm scared of pple crying until today. hahaha.
was walking around with steph ('cos i was studying with her and jits!:D) when we realised that siglap centre has got interesting shops. hahaa:) interesting shops which sell unique items which are relatively expensive. limited supply = inelastic demand = high price. right.
they're having olympics taekwondo sparring now! hahaha:D some are not very exciting. the pair i just watched was quite interesting though. hahaha. yeah. i think i'd rather watch taekwondo aerobics than the sparring. at least the aerobics is more entertaining. haha. gymnastics is always nice to watch. hahaha. watched their event with the ball and the hoop today (i dunno wat it's called) and my gosh! those pple are scary. whoa. there was this female who had a really good pattern and executed such wonderful and difficult moves and i really thought she would have been ranked first (it's like excellance crosses the boundary of understanding) and it was such a pity she got ranked third instead 'cos the ball slipped out of her hands at the last part and even though she tried to cover it up, it was quite obvious. the scores took a really long time to come 'cos the judges were discussing about the mistake. ahhhh. so wasted! my gosh. no one else was comparable by far.

Thursday, August 26, 2004

i reached home in record time! hahaha. 30 mins from bedok! woohoo! hahaha. took 26, then changed immediately to 28. so amusing:)
quite tired from yesterday night, but God sustained me:) so tt i'll be able to study. hahaha. and go for caregroup:) i love caregroup. hahaha:D all my brothers and sisters:) no matter the situation, seeing them always makes me smile:) to be able to set my mind on God, to set my mind on my brothers and sisters, to set my mind on what God has done for me, it sets my heart at ease and reminds me that whatever i do, wherever i go, i'll always have Jesus with me and my brothers and sisters for support, for love, for fellowship as well:)
-now that You're near
everything is different
everything's so different Lord,
i know, i'm not the same
my life You've changed,
i wanna be with You
i wanne be with You!-
studied at siglap kfc today..hahaa:D super ulu place. haha. kfc wasn't open until 11am and i was there at 10.50am so i had to loiter around the area until it opened...went to cold storage and looked for instant mash potato but can't find it. ah well.
the lady who took our orders was funny. we bought something in the morning, then our mouths wanted to something to bite at around 3+, so we got cheese fries. the lady saw me and said 'hey! that shirt looks familiar.' and she grinned at me. then i grinned and i said 'yeah! i was here in the morning'. hahaha:D we made friends. her, me and jits:) she's called gert:D let's see if we see her again when we go to kfc. she gave us extra cheese! haha.
jitsy's biased against 98.7 and i'm biased again channel 8. hahaha. we've each got something against one section of mediacorp. how intriguing.
everyone should go and watch the cartoon at 2pm which goes 'sherlock holmes in the 22nd century'. quite fun to watch. jits was quite agitated when she heard tt there was 'the magic school bus' on kids central but i didn't tell her and now it seems to have been taken over by some strange show called 'boolbah' with strange characters who looked like the floopies in spykids. hahaha:D
hahaha. heard darren hayes' 'insatiable' on radio again..after so long! and we realised that we can hardly remember the songs on his album..like i can remember there's 'spin' and 'creeping up on you' and she can remember 'dirty' but we either can't remember the tune, or can't remember the lyrics at all.
-government elected nobody votes
politically correct isn't that a joke-
then i can't remember. oh! tt's 'good enough' too.
-the days became endless and tougher than tougher
will i be good enough
better than best would be simply to be good enough-
hahaha. and yeah we were pleased with 'insatiable' 'cos it had a standard tt quite matched up to savage garden's (in my opinion)...but no more darren hayes. his new song still gives us the creeps.
-when moonlight crawls along the street
chasing away the summer heat
footsteps outside somewhere below
the world revolves, i let it go-
hah. u can continue it urself.
how exciting:D family day is coming! hahaha. the whole youth together eating steamboat buffet! the thought of it makes me grin in gleeeeeeeeeee.
"Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:31).

George Robertson, a parachute safety and training adviser and a veteran of several hundred parachute jumps, followed six other sky divers out of a plane some 2.25 miles (3.6 kilometers) above the ground.

At approximately one mile (1.6 kilometers) the six attempted to link hands. One of the divers, Debbie Williams, accidentally collided with one of the other skydivers and knocked herself unconscious. Seeing her plight, Roberson tucked his arms to his side and, using his shoulders to steer himself, went after Debbie, Plunging downward at 75 miles (120 kilometers) per hour, he was able to catch her. Maneuvering her into a sitting position, Robertson yanked her rip cord. They were at 3,200 feet (823
meters)! At less than 2,400 feet (610 meters), he opened his own chute. Ten seconds later he would have slammed into the ground.

As Jesus said, there is no greater love than someone being willing to give or even risk his or her own life to save another's. But God's love for us is so much greater. As the Bible says, "Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

this is what mr ho typed in an email to us:
'would like to suggest that besides studying hard and SMART, do give one another
the emotional support.
if u r feeling too stressed or something, do talk to us (ha haa, can talk to me
too, if you are comfortable)'
i looked at that line and i started laughing. hahha.
not the sarcastic kinda laughter...but really. the statement he has typed down caused me to burst out in genuine laughter. i am amused.

wah. so friendly. now what? hahahaha:D
was happily doing a maths paper without first revising...just to eat what i know and what i don't know. hahaha. the first 9 qns were quite fun to do...'cos the answers came and wrote themselves on the paper. after that, i couldn't do at all! hahaha. i was like 'oh gosh. how disastrous.' i had to like put in negative values into something which, after being integrated, has a ln inside...and ..yah. it makes no sense.
oh! speaking of maths! i saw mr leeba today! hhahaa! getting off the bus at toa payoh! huge shock! he stopped at this stop that only pple living in toa payoh stops at...eh. well. guess he lives in the region O_o
hahaha. if i see him on the streets i shall ask him stats qns! hahaha.
went to study with twin in the morning:) we migrated from KAP macs to kfc at BTP 'cos we're simply too tired of macs! well. kfc was surprisingly empty and provided a wonderful atmosphere for doing maths. cold and quiet is the way to go:)
yeah! shepherding today was at swensons! finally tried the topless 5. haha:D i got lime sherbet (2 scoops of it), butterscotch (yuck), mango and thin mint (nice!). jiali got coffee (surprisingly it tastes quite nice:D), thin mint, pistachio almond, chocolate freckles and chocolate peanut buttercup(very peanut-y:D salty ice cream. hahaa. i like!). hahaha:D
so fun. hahah:D got a tummyache just now though. haha.

this is a poem eloquently put together by joyce kilmer.

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

whee. i agree. hahaha:D
yeaaahhh. today has set me in a delightful mood. hahaha.
everything that could go wrong today went wrong. *grInz* firstly, i missed the 238 to travel to toa payoh central, then i missed the 31 (just missed! the bus leaving the curb!) and i thought 'kay, i'm going to be late, shall i just try taking the train?'...and i rushed down to take the mrt and lo and behold! the mrt just left and the next one was coming in 8 mins!. i was like. oh goodness. hahaha:D
in the end, i opted for the bus again...which came at 6.51am! hahaha. the bus dilly-dallied and in the end only left at 6.53am. i was like, God! you must make the bus fly! i'm going to be late! hahahaa:D late for assembly anyway.
hey the bus flew manz! hahaha. actually i thought i'll be the only one late for assembly.. in the end, there were like 9 vjcians on the lower deck of the bus with me, and lots more flooded down from above. quite an amusing sight. hahahah:D and the vj bell rang! hahaa. and we ran and we ran and we ran. and i reached the back of the class in time! couldn't sing much during national anthem though. too busy breathing. hahahaha!:D
ah. and gp paper! gosh. gp compo has interesting topics. hahaha:D like... question 1 - 'science is organised knowledge. Wisdom is organised life. Have we lost wisdom in pursuit of science?' and question 5 - 'sport is human life in microcosm. to what extent is this true?' actually quite intriguing questions...heh:) i did question 8 -'"Selfish, soft and not hungry enough for success as the previous generation."Discuss the implications of this statement about Singaporean youth'...heh. actually i do dislike writing about implications..but ah well. shall see how it turns out to be:)
i should have done question 9! hahaa. question 9 was '"if you want to be happy, be." Does happiness seem more elusive in today's world?'..then i'd copy the 'courage' essay and write
"In today's world, happiness seems to be perpectually playing hide and seek with the human. it is indeed more elusive today. therefore, i shall follow what the quote says and be happy. and to be happy, i shall not do my gp essay. goodbye (hasta la vista will end it off with a flourish...hhaa!)!'
nah. talking nonsense. compre was hard too. the AQ was... hmm. contentless:D hahaha. jane joined our class for mr ho's extra makeup lecture for all his classes and kept telling me how lucky i am to have him as a teacher. hahaha. mr ho wasn't making much sense today either and it was quite amusing. he didn't realise that jane was sitting beside me until the middle of the lesson when he suddenly asked 'eh. who's that girl sitting beside xinying?' :P
yeah. then me, jane and jits were supposed to study in the library after tt. studying didn't come so fast though. felt really tired after maths so went to sleep. hahaha:D and the other two just read their books. ah well. woke up and found them gone! *poof!* disappeared! hahaha. they went to the piano...hahaha.
jane was playing this piece which is a mash of the various stuff she heard on tv, but it's really nice and sound jap-py. jits was actively learning how to play it from jane. hahaha. anyway, it's nice even though it's from a minor to a major to a major, which i guess could make things awkward at times (?). whatsoever. i learnt the first line and it got complicated for me. hahaah.
we finally proceeded to the reading room at around 4+pm. hah. not the best time for studying:D
yeah:D studying with twin and there's shepherding tmr!:D how exciting. hahaha.
the gold medal match between korea and china was superb! i've never seen such exciting playing before. so brilliant. gosh. such skill displayed using two bats and a small ball. and 2 simple rules. tabletennis. you rock.
-and as i look upon Your name,
circumstances fade away
now Your glory steals my heart,
You are holy-
oh! i got this wish from the grant-a-wish thing which the nus csc pple have set up in vj...hahha. bought a watch for a little girl! hope she likes it. so exciting. hahaha:D

can't swim tmr. so saaaaad.
the exams tmr. so baaaaad.
yet tis' only gp, no sweaaaat.
so put the guard down and don't fret.
...
i'm babbling nonsense. gp prelims tmr. so fun. hahha.
ahhhhhhhhh. it feels so strange to have the 5 whole days (per week) on my hands. God! i need the wisdom to plan the time properly so that i don't waste them. feels so strange not to have school. maybe they should decree that everyone go to school to have self study or something. i'll feel better that way. hahaha.

-hide me now,
under Your wings,
cover me,
within Your mighty hand

when the oceans rise and thunder roar,
i will soar with You over the storm,
Father You are King over the flood
i will be still,
know You are God.

find rest my soul,
in Christ alone,
know His power,
in quietness and trust

when the oceans rise and thunder roar
i will soar with You over the storm
Father You are King over the flood
i will be still
know You are God.

i will be still and know You...
are God.-
ahhh. so wasted.
singapore lost the bronze medal. ah well.
so wasted. gosh. really so wasted. with jiawei's skills she should have gotten past those misses she did. it's like. the moves were so open and she really gotten it. ahhhh. so wasted.

66th street was great! gosh. it was a powerful service:D
it was like wow. everything was great.
hahaha.
learnt some new terms today. hahaa:D like 'bean' means 'brain'! and 'ay yo trip' means 'check it out!' hahaha.
yeah. then they had dance:D hahaa. and jiali was one of the five dancers on stage. hip hop. they danced to machi! haha. super cool:D another eye feast. i was like whoa whoa whoa. ahhh. how can i describe? go ask huiyuan. hahaha. she came:D and guan was like 'huiyuan!'hahhaa:D and she met shuyi too! hahaa. and shuyi actually saw her entry in isobel's autograph book!
yeah! then the play commenced. hahaha:D the dance was part of the play. and the play was good too:D hahaa. it was funny and sad. and funny and sad. and the song presentation that came in at the last part fitted in so nicely. gosh. what a fusion of different mediums through which the play could be presented as. it was a masterpiece, truly with God's annointing. it was really nice! hahaa. and praise was great! and sermon was pictorial. pastor jeff got someone to bring up a tandem bike!
hahaha
the whole service was wonderful.
but then, which service is not?
hahaha:D
so odd. to think that the guys are going to army after this year. can you imagine our class guys in army?
i can't!
hahaha. it seems far from me. i guess 'cos i've got no brothers at home and my dad doesn't seem to have gone for army :| why ah? odd.
and even though some of the brothers in church, it's like... 'cos u usually see them, so it's like...no diff or something liddat. ah well. i'm still amused:D and all i've heard about was just guard duty and more guard duty. never really known the system of singapore's army force (except tt the PT guys used to talk about it and some army lingo will come out during prayer meet and then wenjiang always have to explain them). haha.
lydia says it'll be even funnier next year when all of them come back to take results 'cos they'll have to shave their hair off. hahahaa:D
okay!
went for praise and worship night!:D was great! ah long was leading it so he got like the best musicians on stage. hahaha. but it was great not because just because of the music, nor the singers, it was great 'cos it was a time of meeting God!:D
i got to know two more sisters! hahaha. doreen from nus and this other sister i can't remember the name of but she was really excited and everything 'cos she accepted Christ not long ago and she was sharing that she used to be a hindu and still had some doubts when she accepted Jesus until God answered her first prayer.hahaha!:D
then she realised that these questions are secondary 'cos what's most important is that she now knows God!:D
saw some brothers from poly group:D and saw huichun and her cg pple. and saw jitsy running in. hahha:D so funny.
oh dear. i'm not typing coherently. missing out words here and there. hahaa:D jiayan and another nus sister coming for service tmr too! so exciting! hahaha:D
66th street!

li jia wei got into the semi finals! hahaha!:D she beat the world's second best!
...
there was a mist of melancholy around today.
i walked around in the mist, unbothered by it. the day passed, and my thoughts got more and more and started to drop out of my head into the mist. *plop* it went. *plop* they went.
and i watched in fascination as the mist solidified into clouds and as nature goes, they began to drizzle. the clouds then got smaller and smaller, and eventually they were gone. and the drizzle stopped.
the air remained cool after the drizzle but not for long. soon the sun came out and dissipated the coolness. a soothing kinda warmth that just gently seeps into you.
...
last day of lessons today! mr lee said that gp paper's hard. only 3 do-able questions...the rest are all damage control qns. and he told thongkheng not to do number 12. hahaha:D 'cos apparently no.12s are all philosophical qns and tk do them most of the time (?). anyway. number 12 will guarantee him an F:D i guess it's the same for all of us. hahaa.
so friendly. so yup. paper's going to be hard. subject papers too, apparently. mrs teo gave quite a scary smile today when we asked her how the papers are. freaky.
it's quite interesting (and sad) how it's only on the last day that the boundaries between the cliques in the class melted and melded and everyone got together.

-everybody praise the Lord
shining His light all over the world
everybody praise the Lord
He gave His life to save us all!-
praise the Lord! was quite tired during dinnertime and babbling quite a lot of nonsense. then this tiredness kinda evolved into a discomfort in the head region. hahaa:) so i was on the bus and i was feeling uncomfortable and i was like 'okay... i shall go home and sleep!' ('cos i slept at 2am last night and today was a long day of studying.) hahaa:D then i prayed 'God i believe that You can take away this headache. you've placed circumstances around and i believe that You can take away this discomfort of mine. in Your timing' then i fell asleep on the bus.
interrupted sleep though. kept waking up to see if the bus has reached the interchange. oh! and goodness. even before the bus stopped at the interchange, there was this guy who out of no reason at all tried to wake me up to tell me that we've reached. and i woke up with a shock. and it's like everyone's still on the bus and the doors weren't even open yet. was puzzling over why the guy called me up so early when i realised that my discomfort was totally gone! hahaa:D my brain felt so clear at that time i felt i could do a maths paper or something.
thank God for taking away my discomfort so that i can finish my maths assignment!
anyway, joy was saying tt it's interesting to redo old quizzes. so i redid the quiz she redid. i still got the same results though. hahaha:D
You are Psalms
You are Psalms.

Which book of the Bible are you?

Wednesday, August 18, 2004

just voted for sdd pageant king and queen. hahaha. super funny. the guys ahz. aiyoh. i was thinking of voting for kylash and kamya together but thought better of it. what a comedic pair:)
do you support the children's medical fund? i did!:D (actually i can't remember what i did. but it's okay) got this invite to join North (eh. who are they?) at Zouk for their special appreciation concert and this 1-for-1 caramel coffee jelly frappucino thing. seeing tt the chances of me enter starbucks before september is really really low, i doubt i'll ever use it:D
school is a soporifying affair.
really sleepy in the morning 'cos both lydia and i slept at 2.30am. and both of us were doing numerical analysis. hahaa. which happens to be the last tutorial. last tutorial of the whole entire j2 life. whoa. which probably explains why maths tutorial was going so slowly. hahaha:) mr ho had one more lesson to finish it off. which was good.
lessons feel as though they don't quite belong there anymore. teachers have finished their stuff and are doing revision and doing more of like analysing questions and all. so it doesn't really feel like a tutorial:) ahhhh. i'm starting to miss jc life already. haha. the hectic jc life with its studies and ccas and commitments and lots of staying back after schools to do stuff instead of going out. i'm early, ain't i?
of all songs to get stuck in the mind, i've got the song from Winx club stuck in my mind! ahhhh.
-magical flowers,
digital powers
rhythms and tunes
the sun and the moon
keep on search far and wide
for the fire burning deep inside-
can't wait for caregroup tomorrow! hahaha:D
i was happily spreading my 'newly invented' knock-knock joke and was trying it out on ziwei when she lamed me.
i went 'knock knock'
she went 'haha, *opening the door*
ELLLLOOOOOOOO!'
oh me oh my.

i'm excited about my new mouse. haha.
don't mind me. this is the first time in six years that i'm changing my mouse. and goodness gracious! the performance sure is different:D
woohoo! 66th street this sat! hahaa:D
let me type this out:
'Get ready for 'the 66th street' - a drama that depicts the life of a regular joe, infused with the elements of hiphop culture, which will knock your socks off. If you're funky and you know it, don't just clap your hands, come down and join us in having a roaring good time!'
yeahyeah!:D i'm not dancing, but come down anyway!
ruxuan said 'why not in dance? join dance mah. very fun.' hahaha.
then i told her 'if i join dance, everytime you come izzit?'
then she said 'yah. okae.'
hahaha. jiali's dancing!
i know prelims are coming, but before mugging, must rest for a while right? resting is to allow us to mug more effectively. correct?
haha:D

haha. today is an interesting day.
went to school early in the morning and as i was walking to school, the lack of vj students surprised me and in my heart raised a doubt of whether there is school today. hahaa. as i continued walking, the question was modified to 'is there school for j2s today?' haha. it wasn't until i saw corinne and liting in the concourse that i concluded that yah, i think there's sch today afterall.
guess more and more j2s and have decided not to come so early.
econs started on a casual mood. everyone was just doing our own stuff and everything and mr chan was just letting everyone do their stuff. we did DRQs:D hahaa. or rather, analysed them. oh! and we were doing one of the japanese economy..when mr chan commented that japan's economy is finally starting to recover ('cos they has recession for 10 yrs or something) due to two reasons.
1) the recession got so bad that it can't get any worse, so it got better! haha. (eg.interest rates kept dropping and dropping until it reached 0%)
2) japan got a new PM and he's able to get the civilians to gain trust in the japanese government again because...
he's got dyed wavy shoulder-length hair and he looks funky!
the whole class burst out in laughter. we didn't expect such an answer. of all reasons!
he also mentioned something else which was quite amusing but i can't remember.
and maths. maths was interesting too. mr ho's in a good mood. hahaha. he let us off 5 mins early! mr ho. has. never. ever. let us off. early. never. hahaha:) but i think he saw that like half of the class didn't prepare numerical analysis (i just got tt tutorial today! haha) and he was nice enough not to say anything:)
10 mins later, he bounded in again, said something that was of no sense to me and asked the class 'aren't you all concerned that your bio teacher is late?' and the class laughed and said 'oh. she's always like that!'
actually mrs teo went down to tao nan primary 'cos her younger son met with an accident and he was bleeding and all. so mrs lim (i think. a.k.a mrs k) stood in for her:) and she's super giggly. and think she's quite amused by my class as well. no idea why though. we didn't quite prepare the tutorial (or rather, prepared the wrong tutorial *frown*) and pple were just shooting in strange and vague answers around. ah well. she commented that our class girls must be stressed and our class guys are not 'cos all the guys have good complexion (well, we were touching on hormonal imbalance). hahahaa. tt. i dun think. is a very logical deduction. but nevertheless, she's quite a nice bio teacher to have. all our bio teachers are nice! hahaha.
class went a little mad today though. lydia was talking much more than usual. and after bio, wenqi came up to us and said 'today is a good day'. and we were like 'huh? why?' and she said 'no reason. today is a good day:)' and she looked like she's half-absorbed in her thoughts and half looking away in the distance.
yeah. and tt's it for the interesting events of the day (interesting to me). i just woke up. took a long afternoon nap and thought it was daytime when i woke up just now. time for maths!

i think jitsy's very amusing. hahaha:D
and i think what she wrote puts across the idea of chasing after fame and glory and money being very useless very well.
'What do you do when you reach the top of a ladder, anyhow? You fall off, don't you. Utter silliness. And that is provided the ladder is strong and stable enough to support the countless masses of people just clinging on for dear life to their individual rungs, trying not to get shaken or thrown off by the people scrambling over them in their frenzy to Reach The Top. Personally, I think it'll topple. Hasta la vista, baby.'
...
darren hayes has this new totally trashy song which did what songs usually do -shake up a person totally...except that it's in the negative way this time. it makes people sit up alright. sit up and say 'ewww. what kinda song is that?':P
darren hayes? simple lyrics? trashy songs? it just doesn't fit.
fungi suggested that britney wrote it for him instead. i think i like that idea better.
haha.
let's talk about yesterday. yesterday's a long saturday. hahaa:D
yeah. went for info counter yesterday:D hahaha. timothy's a funny brother (funny as in hahaha, so amusing. not ha.ha.ha) and he showed me what we do and everything else. quite interesting actually. oh! and i found twin's missing pencil case! how it ended up at lost and found remains a mystery. since twin is supposed to have lost her pencil case at macs. hahaa.
the deco pple were there decorating the place up. hahaa. i think it's quite cool how they can actually cause the whole place to look so nice:D then everything getting set up. i always find it fun to watch things being set up. the process.
met new brothers. hah. clarence and alvin. didn't know Yhope has so many alvins: then we folded bulletin. hahaha. and helped to do netts tithing. quite intriguing.
yeah. then had lunch. hah. lunch is a funny affair. lots of pple around to disturb gwen. and jiali appeared outside the lift after lunch. which was funny too 'cos she called me when she was outside the lift and i was in the lift:)
yeah:) then pm and service:D which was great:D time of refreshing from God:) i love services. hahaa.
gosh. i'm quite sick of macs. studied with jits on sat evening in macs. and it's quite a bad place to start studying 'cos it's relatively distracting. however, once u get into the momentum of studying, the environment doesn't matter so much until ur attention span runs out. anyway. we realised tt u can turn off the aircon at macs. hahaa. and we did the word contest thing by macs.
gosh. brain was quite exhausted when i went home. heh. watching tv, however requires no brain power. i saw 'yuan wang shu' on channel 8 and it looked like a nice film to watch 'cos the cinematography was quite good and the scenary in the film was beautiful.
and tt. is yesterday.

"Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, for each one should carry his own load" (Galatians6:4-5, NIV).

Comedian Bill Crosby is getting a lot of flack these days because he is telling his own people to quit blaming anyone else for the problems they have, to act responsibly, and develop and use the abilities they have. This is a message we all need to hear regardless of the color of our skin orthe circumstances of our background.
In fact, two of life's greatest abilities are depend-ability and response-ability. Dependability is keeping one's word. It's being there when we say we are going to be there, and doing what we say we are going to do. It's keeping the commitments we make. Responsibility is realizing that I am totally responsible for what I say, what I want, what I feel, and for what I do or don't do.
True, I was not responsible for my background or my upbringing, but I am totally responsible for what I do about overcoming my background if it were less than desirable, for what I become, and for every area of my life. As long as I blame my past, my parents, my background, the government, or anyone else, I will stay in a self-pitying and self-defeating mode going nowhere fast.
Unless some think I am an armchair-theorist coming from a highly privileged background telling others what they should do, they are mistaken. I came from a very dysfunctional family background, was not allowed to attend high school, made to go to work fulltime when I was still13, and came overseas to get an education without any help from anyone (worked my way through college and worked three jobs at once during the summers). I made up my mind while still a teen that I wanted my life to amount to something so I did what I needed to do to make it happen.
However, what I did have going for me was a firm belief that God had a purpose for my life. I didn't know what it was at the time but I knew that I needed to prepare myself for whatever it might be. Sure there were obstacles to overcome and challenges to meet, but these made me all the stronger. Today it has paid off tremendously. I count it a tremendous privilege to be able to publish the gospel and Christian message and be communicating it around the world to multiplied thousands of people. There is nothing better in life that I could want or wish to do. The point is, every one of us needs to know that God has a plan and purpose for his or her life, and then employ all of his/her powers for the achievement of that purpose. God will do for us what we cannot do for ourselves, but he will never do for us what we can and need to do for ourselves--otherwise he would be acting irresponsibly by keeping us immature and over-dependent.

xinying is my name and mugging is my game.
for now. hahaha.
come, let me talk my brain into it:D
you all can try too. talking ur brain into something. hahaha. i put a piece of paper with 6 'i love maths!' in different colours on the wall and now i'm convinced that maths rocks. hahaha:P
i can't seem to find my mitosis and meiosis and genetic engineering notes. quite disastrous. wonder where they've disappeared too. hope it won't be another case of 'notes-are-just-right-beside-you-but-you're-too-blind-to-see' case...
weekend is coming! and the study break is coming too! going to school is starting to be quite a waste of time. 2 hours of travel for 2 hours of lessons: disadvantage of a school far from you. hahaha.

the circle begins. it never ends.
four months more,
the apprehension haunts again.
faint connections formed,
darkened, strengthend,
thickening more and more.
connections which link to the heart,
like a bee.
look at them
how can they break?
reluctance guides the hands.
in the center of the pool of familiarity
sitting poised, amidst the connections
awaiting for four months more.

Auguries of Innocence
William Blake

To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

A robin redbreast in a cage
Puts all heaven in a rage.

A dove-house fill'd with doves and pigeons
Shudders hell thro' all its regions.
A dog starv'd at his master's gate
Predicts the ruin of the state.

A horse misused upon the road
Calls to heaven for human blood.
Each outcry of the hunted hare
A fibre from the brain does tear.

A skylark wounded in the wing,
A cherubim does cease to sing.
The game-cock clipt and arm'd for fight
Does the rising sun affright.

Every wolf's and lion's howl
Raises from hell a human soul.

The wild deer, wand'ring here and there,
Keeps the human soul from care.
The lamb misus'd breeds public strife,
And yet forgives the butcher's knife.

The bat that flits at close of eve
Has left the brain that won't believe.
The owl that calls upon the night
Speaks the unbeliever's fright.

He who shall hurt the little wren
Shall never be belov'd by men.
He who the ox to wrath has mov'd
Shall never be by woman lov'd.

The wanton boy that kills the fly
Shall feel the spider's enmity.
He who torments the chafer's sprite
Weaves a bower in endless night.

The caterpillar on the leaf
Repeats to thee thy mother's grief.
Kill not the moth nor butterfly,
For the last judgement draweth nigh.

He who shall train the horse to war
Shall never pass the polar bar.
The beggar's dog and widow's cat,
Feed them and thou wilt grow fat.

The gnat that sings his summer's song
Poison gets from slander's tongue.
The poison of the snake and newt
Is the sweat of envy's foot.

The poison of the honey bee
Is the artist's jealousy.

The prince's robes and beggar's rags
Are toadstools on the miser's bags.
A truth that's told with bad intent
Beats all the lies you can invent.

It is right it should be so;
Man was made for joy and woe;
And when this we rightly know,
Thro' the world we safely go.

Joy and woe are woven fine,
A clothing for the soul divine.
Under every grief and pine
Runs a joy with silken twine.

The babe is more than swaddling bands;
Every farmer understands.
Every tear from every eye
Becomes a babe in eternity;

This is caught by females bright,
And return'd to its own delight.
The bleat, the bark, bellow, and roar,
Are waves that beat on heaven's shore.

The babe that weeps the rod beneath
Writes revenge in realms of death.
The beggar's rags, fluttering in air,
Does to rags the heavens tear.

The soldier, arm'd with sword and gun,
Palsied strikes the summer's sun.
The poor man's farthing is worth more
Than all the gold on Afric's shore.

One mite wrung from the lab'rer's hands
Shall buy and sell the miser's lands;
Or, if protected from on high,
Does that whole nation sell and buy.

He who mocks the infant's faith
Shall be mock'd in age and death.
He who shall teach the child to doubt
The rotting grave shall ne'er get out.

He who respects the infant's faith
Triumphs over hell and death.
The child's toys and the old man's reasons
Are the fruits of the two seasons.

The questioner, who sits so sly,
Shall never know how to reply.
He who replies to words of doubt
Doth put the light of knowledge out.

The strongest poison ever known
Came from Caesar's laurel crown.
Nought can deform the human race
Like to the armour's iron brace.

When gold and gems adorn the plow,
To peaceful arts shall envy bow.
A riddle, or the cricket's cry,
Is to doubt a fit reply.

The emmet's inch and eagle's mile
Make lame philosophy to smile.
He who doubts from what he sees
Will ne'er believe, do what you please.

If the sun and moon should doubt,
They'd immediately go out.
To be in a passion you good may do,
But no good if a passion is in you.

The whore and gambler, by the state
Licensed, build that nation's fate.
The harlot's cry from street to street
Shall weave old England's winding-sheet.

The winner's shout, the loser's curse,
Dance before dead England's hearse.

Every night and every morn
Some to misery are born,
Every morn and every night
Some are born to sweet delight.

Some are born to sweet delight,
Some are born to endless night.

We are led to believe a lie
When we see not thro' the eye,
Which was born in a night to perish in a night,
When the soul slept in beams of light.

God appears, and God is light,
To those poor souls who dwell in night;
But does a human form display
To those who dwell in realms of day.
hahah.
i can't study with nina. she makes me wanna go shopping instead of studying. as in. it's not tt she'll drag me off to shop, but tt seeing her makes me wanna go shopping instead.
hahah.
or maybe it's 'cos i was doing gp compre. i quite dislike doing gp compre at home. no excitement. no time constraint. no motivation. hahaha. dun let mr lee see this or he'll be giving us time trials from now on.
we've got something nice written by william blake on our gp compre...

to see a World in a Grain of Sand
and a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
and Eternity in an hour....

thought it sounded really intriguing, so i went to check up the whole poem. shall post it as a seperate post.
oh yah. i forgot to mention.
saw pierre png and andrea de cruz at the wedding dinner too. haha. actually tonight's dinner's quite a strange mix. it's like their church friends, lots of pastors (i think 'cos ian and tammy are church staff..) and us the close relatives. heh. not very big scale either. cozy.
and jitsy smsed me to say that she saw miss dong on singapore idol! hahaa. and she got through that round! hahaa. so interesting:D
oh! the bride looked a bit like miss kek! hahaha. eh...and i thought sister jasmine poon looked a bit like miss kek too! so yah. can kinda imagine the face:D

hahaha. back from dinner.
too full. too full. haven't really recovered from the effects of this afternoon's buffet...and adding on from tonight's dinner, i feel as if i'm going to burst. literally!
hahhaa. quite nice to know more about cousin Ian today...considering that our of the four cousins from this aunt, he's like the most unknown... maybe 'cos he's a guy and all the rest are females:P well, nice to know that he's serving the Lord as a zone supervisor in city harvest, that he's serving the Lord fervently and that i'm not the only christian in the whole family (immediate and extended!)
quite interesting to see how God is moving in my family:)
dinner was at Grand Copthorne, waterfront ballroom... our faithful 'chauffeur' came at 6:15pm (!) to pick us up... and we reached there even before our aunt's family reached. hahaha. super funny.
sat around at the cafe area for quite a long time. we realised that shawn (the playful nephew mentioned before) will continue eating whenever he can unless he's got something to play with. hahaha. actually today's quite a nice time of bonding with them... spending the whole day together:)
yep:)
studying with nina tomorrow. how exciting. anyone wanna join us just sms me or something:D
-so glad i can't contain it
so much i gotta give it away
Your love taught me to live now
You are more than enough for me-
hahaa.
today's a tiring day. came home to rest a while before going off for the wedding dinner. hahaha:D
woke up early in the morning (actually not very early, 7+) to go to auntie's house for the tea ceremony 'cos we're the closest cousins to them and mum's like the only remaining sister my auntie has...cousin Ian went to fetch his bride at 7am! gosh. lingered in the house playing with my niece and nephew (super playful) and watching cartoon after cartoon after cartoon...talked, tried the Oto electro-reflexologist until when it's around 11.15am when one of cousin Ian's zone members (think the name is yao hui or something..?) drove us to the church building of City Harvest.
we had praise and worship! quite odd having praise and worship with ur parents around. hahaha:D i think cousin Ian and sister Tammy really chose to honour God even through their wedding ceremony, which was quite heartwarming:) think sun ho's fans will be jealous of me:P 'cos she's a close friend of cousin Ian and sister Tammy and well, she was there congratulating my aunt and uncle.
reception was nice! haha. i'm quite tired. haha. wedding dinner tonight. oh! yao hui has become sort of like our personal chauffer. we get driven around wherever we go together:P

Saturday, August 07, 2004

today is sat. and yesterday is a fri. maybe it's a french fri.
studied with fungi and nina at heartland mall bk yesterday. hahaa. while nina and i were eating our chicken whopper meals happily, fungi was being a health nut and not eating anything from bk except for tomatoes. tried meiji yogurt with nice whole strawberries inside (for strawberry lovers. haha. not me though, but it was nice nevertheless) for the first time. the strawberry one is nicer than the mixedberries one. guess who bought the yogurt. hahaha:D
poor nina had to travel down to outram (??) to get her 512mb dunno-wat-it's called thing from her friend who happily took it home. haha. fungi left before she came back: ah well. went into a study standstill at around 5+pm and we went to walk around at heartland mall. haha.
then went to j8 to meet mum 'cos she wanted to exchange something which sis bought for her for her birthday but was too large...saw priscilla and david! haha:) sis joined us later. shopping's starting to bore me. let mum try yakun for the very first time though. hahaha!
and today is sat. woke up at 8am in the morning to prepare stuff around. haha. was supposed to meet cs but due to biological hindrances, she couldn't come out..so i went to Times to read. haha. read Max Lucado's 'Six Hours One Friday (Anchoring to the Power of the Cross)'... his style is a little different from other writers... less references to verses but a lot of examples, a lot of imagery which allows one to identify readily. i do like lots of references to verses though..hehe. if you have the chance to read the book, don't read it in Times, and especially not when there're a lot of pple walking around. firstly, it gets really cold and your teeth will literally start chattering for the 2 hours of reading. secondly, you might start to cry.
finished the book in 1 hr and 40 mins, so i had like 20 mins to kill before 1pm... took my time to walk to cuppage plaza (that took 10 mins), went to buy curry puff (that took <5 mins) and saw jiali and wanqi and this sister i dunno the name of waiting for me. hahaha. we went to the level 6 door to get into the audi and i was reminded of mm rehearsals on fri nights and sun morns... reminded of how i thought i'd stay in tt ministry forever and how excited i was that i was starting to be able to do the whole pp thing by myself and all.
got intro-ed by jiali to timothy from info counter ('cos tt's wat i'm joining:D). i wonder what they do...how exciting. hahaa. new experience, new skills. new way of serving God:)
was quite bothered about something throughout the whole day though. worried. wondering. it weighed my heart down and even when i chose to focus on God during pm, it came snaking in right after we finished praying.
so before service, i decided to go out to level 6 to make a phone call... was utterly surprised when i saw junting sitting on the steps doing some stuff. u gotta forgive me, it's a sat... after being in yhope for some time, i kinda forgot tt the uni pple have meetings and pm on sats/hols.
so i sat beside her and we chatted for a while, about why we were here, about sheep. went back into service (heh... they were already having praise. oops) with four words being remembered. 'go and worship God'.
and that's all that i chose to do during service. and that's all that's needed for my soul to find peace in God once more.
really wanna thank God for this whole week. He knew what i needed before i even knew realised that that's exactly what i needed. He answered all my needs in the ways He knew will fill me the most. need after need, person after person He sent, verse after verse He gave. there was no need for me to ask, He supplied me with all i needed even before i knew i needed them.
thank God for being God.

While redheads are all the rage in the fashion world, they could be extinct by 2060 because there aren't enough of them to keep the hair color going.
Redheads were buried alive by ancient Egyptians as a sacrifice to appease the sun god and turned out of dairies because it was believed they would turn the milk sour, The Mirror reported.
Scotland has the highest number of redheads in the world -- about 13 percent of the population compared to 2 percent of Americans -- and the Scots descended from the Celts, who were violent warriors. Ireland has 320,000 natural redheads, but worldwide it is estimated that just 1 percent of the global population has red hair.
Dr. John Gray of the Oxford Hair Foundation says natural red hair may be gone in 55 years. "The way things are going, red hair will either be extremely rare or extinct," he said. The problem is that just 4 percent of the population carries the red hair gene, known as MC1R. Because the gene is recessive, it is diluted whenever carriers have children with people who have the stronger brown hair gene.

there's a mosquito in the house. and it flew around my legs and i peered at it and was waiting for it to settle down on my leg to bite me so that i can hit it and kill it. but it merely flew around and then it flew away. guess my legs are not warm enough for it to detect that i'm a living creature O_o
was thinking of not going to school tomorrow 'cos it's national day celebrations and they don't exactly hold much of an appeal to me in the face of prelims coming along. but steph wants to go dance mass dance and i guess i'll go dance mass dance too. haha.
i am pleased with my gp research. hahha:D our group did on the transitions in art movements in the time period 1700s to 1900s and i got pictures of the different periods and compiled them together and mr lee actually decided to borrow it from me first. haha. you know, art movements are so interesting...and how the different movements come about and what is representative of them is quite intriguing as well. i like the baroque and rococo period! hahaha:D and post-impressionism. vincent van gogh. hohoho.
oh! saw michelle goh today in school. hahaha:D didn't know she came back from norway in june:D hahaha... quite surprised to see her. doesn't seem to have changed though. still find it amusing how her first three months class is the exact same class i'm in right now. would have been interesting if she stayed on in vj...then we'd be classmates for 6 whole years. hahaa:)
speaking of seeing pple. steph told me tt she saw jessie and jessie asked her this qn 'oh! do you remember xinying?' and steph was like 'yah...she's my classmate' and jessie was like 'oh! she's my church mate. i see her every sat!' and i was like...eh. okay. hahaa:D the way steph said it was quite funny though. ah well. must see the expression.
i don't quite like being reminded of prelims. haha. it makes me sigh. i think i like jitsy's way of handling it. don't talk about it. 'cos now everyone's in that continuous momentum of studying and seriously speaking, all we want to do now is to do our best in studying, go past the prelims and go on to the As. 'cos it's not the prelims that matter, ultimately, we're aiming for the As. i can even compare it to my description of swimming...we're in that continuous lap after lap after lap mode, stroke after stroke we'll swim. and pple reminding us of prelims are like the white-capped pple which'll give a mild shock and break us out of momentum.
i want to carry on life as per-normal.
it worries me when other people worry about me. hahaha.
In open fields of wild flowers,
she breathes the air and flies away
She thanks her Jesus for the daises and the roses
in no simple language
Someday she'll understand the meaning of it all
He's more than the laughter or the stars in the heavens
As close a heartbeat or a song on her lips
Someday she'll trust Him and learn how to see Him
Someday He'll call her and she will come running
and fall in His arms and the tears will fall down and she'll pray,
"I want to fall in love with You"

Sitting silent wearing Sunday best
The sermon echoes through the walls
A great salvation through it calls to the people
who stare into nowhere, and can't feel the chains on their souls
He's more than the laughter or the stars in the heavens
As close a heartbeat or a song on our lips
Someday we'll trust Him and learn how to see Him
Someday He'll call us and we will come running
and fall in His arms and the tears will fall down and we'll pray,
"I want to fall in love with You"

It seems too easy to call you "Saviour",
Not close enough to call you "God"
So as I sit and think of words I can mention
to show my devotion

"I want to fall in love with You"

i'm in a good mood. hahha:)
i feel just like the laughing kitty in my msn picture, the one who its mouth wide open and laughing like it's really enjoying itself? that's the one. *grInz*
there's a certain ring to the word laughing and enjoying that makes you wanna smile and nod your head and say 'yeah dude!' ahhh... which reminds me. a dudette's going to treat us this saturday! hahaha.
we had this really 'interesting' econs case study which touched on nothing about macro policies (which we were supposed to study about), a little a bit about unemployment (one line out of 2 pages;) and lots and lots about balance of payments and exchange rate (which is a bit odd, considering that we weren't supposed to be studying for these topics...but they're supposed to be only a little part of the 5 sets of notes we were supposed to be studying for:D). nevertheless, it didn't quite faze me. hahaa. not because i knew how to do, but because i studied to the best of how i knew in the time contraint that i had and well, it can't be helped if things expected to come out don't really come out, right?
at peace, you could say.
mcq tomorrow. hopefully all the policies come out then. hahaha:D
-night time sharpens
heightens your sensations
darkness stirs and wakes imagination-
gp day tomorrow. about art...wheeeeeeeeee:D

hahaha. muggers' paradise is a brilliant way to describe vj right now. it's going into a set of 'sleep, wake up, mug, mug, mug, eyes droop, sleep, wake up, mug mug mug, go for lessons... break, mugmug, sleep, mug..' hahaha:D although i do believe part of the reason why it's so evident today is 'cos there's an econs test tmr. ah well:)
doing maths has become aggravating in an enjoyable sort of way. haha:) econs tutorials pass by really quickly these days due to us discussing mcq qns...and bio tutorials remain the most relaxing tutorials out of all. mrs teo understands us quite well:D

this is my 1000th post! hahaa:)
and what better way to celebrate it than to post something about what the Word of God tells us and celebrate the beauty of friendship?:)
...
“A friend loves at all times” (Proverbs 17:17, NIV).
According to an article in an English magazine, “A true friend is one who has the courage to disagree with us when [we are] in the wrong, and advise us for our own good, rather than let his sympathy or sentimentality cause him to agree.”
Charles Spurgeon once said, “Friendship is one of the sweetest joys of life. Many might have failed beneath the bitterness of their trail had they not found a friend.”
Dr. Alfred Adler, internationally known psychiatrist, based the following conclusions on a careful analysis of thousands of clients: “The most important task imposed by religion has always been ‘Love thy neighbor.’ It is the individual who is not interested in his fellow man that has the greatest difficulties in life and provides the greatest injury on others. It is from among such individuals that all human failures spring.”It may not be the best but it is true that we can live without romantic love, but we cannot live healthy without at least one loving friend.
As Dinah Craik so eloquently said, “Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with a breath of kindness blow the rest away.” And, oh, the priceless value of having at least one such deep abiding friendship.
Thank God for the gift of friendship.
...
-for a friend's a friend forever
if the Lord's the Lord of them
and a friend will not say never
'cos the welcome will not end
though it's hard to let you go
in the Father's hands we know
that a lifetime's not too long
to live, as friends-
thank God for all the friends i've made ever since i've started making friends, and for all the brothers and sisters who accept me for who i am and love me as a child of God.
a friend's for eternity:)

mr ho no longer post as a symbol of stress to us...the mascot has been changed to mr chan. surprisingly! our dear normally go-with-the-flow ct has become quite agitated with how the class is progessing with the revision for econs. hehe:D trouble is, i think most of us are focusing on other subjects like maths and chem (for the rest) first...hmmm. at least i know i am. maths and bio.
gosh. haven't gone swimming for a long time. haha:D my first lap caused my arms to ache...hahah:D it got better though...swam a few laps and the ache no longer registered... and a few more and the whole thing becomes a rhythm whereby nothing else exists except for you and the water...back and forth, back and forth. and u start to wonder, why isn't the pool longer? i had my 'own' lane though..lane no.7...no one else wanted to swim in the same lane 'cos i kept going back and forth. haha. lane number 8 had a guy who kept going back and forth too.
got startled back into the 'real world' (so called) when i see white headed pple (hahaha! they were having classes and were wearing white caps to protect their hair) starting to appear alongside me. ah well. guess it was time to go. haha:D pool got too crowded for comfort.
yeah:D shopped around with mum for something to wear next monday to cousin's wedding. haha:D first ever church wedding in the family!
time for econs. hohoho. merry christmas:P

hehehe:D
i met a nice bus driver this morning:) 'cos my ezlink card has nicely reached a nice value of $0 and it just so happens that i haven't bought the concession pass for today, the scanning machine kinda protested when i scanned my card this morning...hahaha. and i had no change! i had nice $10 notes for buying the concession pass and nothing else. hahaha:D then i asked if the bus driver had change and he said 'take a seat. it's okay'. hahaha:D
thank God for this nice bus driver:)
went for first service with jits and kelvin:D hahaa. it's comm care sunday so the sermon title goes like 'for God's sake, show kindness!' *grInz* praise and worship reminded us of God's abundant grace:)
then jits and kelvin went off. i walked around in OG thinking about what to get for mum's birthday. hahaha. then some stuff came around and i had to get back home to get money after buying the present and i decided to pop by the lor 7 market 'cos dad's stall's moved back today:D i wanna conk my dad's head (hahaha:D)...he tricked me:P mum was at home at 12+ in the morning which surprised me. hahaha:)
then went off to study at serene macs with twin...'cos joanna and lincoln both had something on. hahaha. quite tiring. twin and i were doing our best to have the joy in studying and were discussing about what happens to j2s near the exam period. hahaha. we both agree that services cgs, shepherding and meetings serve as a form of retreat to us. not forgetting our daily time with God. hahaha. gosh. can't live without them.
the new show on channel U is very nice!:D 7-9pm on sunday night. am trying to reduce the no. of hours of tv show watching to less than 5 hrs a week. hahaha:D
