both nina and sam (didn't know sam has a blog! hahaha:D) typed this in their blogs. hahaha. yup. i got this pseudo-personality test from romona rosemary isobelly huala huala walla walla tan wen li as well:D here goes:
imagine yourself on a journey. you are walking... walking.. walking.. and you enter a forest. after travelling for some time, you see a palace. is the architecture modern or ancient?
...
you move on, and you reach a path. you take that path and you come across a mud puddle. in the mud puddle, there are glittering gems. what do you do?
...
after you've done what you've done, you continue on the path. you see another puddle. this time it's filled with clear sparkling water and more gems. what do you do?
...
you continue to make your way on the path and you come across this magnificent horse. what colour is it?
...
the horse lets you mount it and you manage to find your way out of the forest. you come to an massive open clearing. there is a box in the clearing. what size is it and what kind of material is it made from?
...
suddenly, a great storm advances upon you! what do you do?
...
the storm finally blows over and you continue on your journey. you reach a hut. inside the hut there is a table. what shape is the table?
...
you spend the night in the hut before moving on. night falls as you safely reach the comfort of another hut. the hut is illuminated by candle-light. how many candles are there?
...
night passes and you continue your journey. you must make your way through a harsh desert. eventually, you have reached the last leg of your journey. you can see your destination in the horizon but it is still quite a distance away. the same distance away, you also spot an oasis. what do you do?
...
so here's the analysis.
1. is the architecture modern or ancient?
modern signifies your friendships are all transient, or out of sight out of mind. ancient signifies your friendships are pretty longlasting.
(mine was ancient.)
2.in the mud puddle, there are glittering gems. what do you do?
the situation represents one where your significant other is not around. picking up the gems symbolises that you will flirt with others when your significant other is not around. not picking; not flirting.
(haha. crossed over without taking even a half glance)
3. this time it's filled with clear sparkling water and more gems. what do you do?
the situation represents one where your significant other is around. picking up the gems symbolises that you will flirt with others when your significant other is around. not picking; not flirting.
(haha. i picked up this time. but well. do i look like the type to flirt? never!)
4. what colour is it?
the colour symbolise your ideal partner. if it's white, you go for the perfect types. if it's black, you go for the flawed types. an intermediate color or spots can be intepreted by intensity. the darker the colour, the more flaws, the more spots, the more imperfections.
(DARK GRAY:P)
5. there is a box in the clearing. what size is it and what kind of material is it made from?
the size of the box symbolises how much secrets you keep. the material relates to the sturdiness of the box and thus how good you are at keeping secrets
(made of wood. can't describe the size:P)
6. suddenly, a great storm advances upon you! what do you do?
this relates to how you cope with problems. if you hid yourself in the box or under the horse, it means you usually avoid your problems, hoping for them to go away. if you continued your journey, it means that you usually tackle your problems head on.
(hahaha. i wanted to first ride into the castle. then iso said it's too far away! and then i decided to use the box to cover the horse's head and me...isobel said tt i'm the first person to think of the animal. hahaha. that's nice:D)
7. the storm finally blows over and you continue on your journey. you reach a hut. inside the hut there is a table. what shape is the table?
the shape of the table represents how careful you are in choosing your friends. if a specific shape was chosen, it means you are quite picky about friends. this is as opposed to choosing a circular table. circular tables means that you are not particular about the kind of people you make friends with.
(round. hahaha:D)
8. how many candles are there?
this represents the number or boyfriends/girlfriends you would like to have.a lot.
(:P right. i chose 1 at first. then i thought the room should be more brightly lit and chose 3 instead!)
9. the same distance away, you also spot an oasis. what do you do?
this question determines your level of focus. if you trudged on to your destination, it means you're rather on-task. if you veered into the oasis, you probably have some problems with task-orientation.
(hehehe. i went to see the oasis. hey jits, desert oasis! hahaha)
...
yeahyeah whatever:)
-i will lay me down
at Your feet in worship
and listen to the sweetest sound of all-
service today was great:D hahaha. service every time is great:D
can't find the lyrics for the first worship song- 'You chose me' though...
touch is the essential element to keeping a relationship vibrant and alive, communication is the other:)

...
'i may have lost my mind, but i have never lost my faith. God always keeps track of me'

today's a day of meeting old friends. hahaha:D
met qing and her classmates at lavender mrt to go down together to support fungi. hahaa:D i mean, her classmates and qing also went down to support the hwachong pple but i only had fungi to support (so sad right. hahaha:D) yup:D canoeing! me and qing felt that she's become some sort of a legend among the canoeists..hahaha. even the the hwachong pple were like 'oh! fengyi...she shook hands with me yesterday. firm grip' and 'she smiled at me benevolently yesterday'.
right. fungi, since when do you smile at pple benevolently?:D
realised that it's no wonder canoeists are all so dark. i merely stood under the sun for an hour and me and qing both got sunburned. hahaha:D great place for suntanning!
then went off to far east to accompany qing to cut her hair. hahaha:D we couldn't find this salon called Pointers on the directory and asked the security guard. surprisingly, the security guard provided an answer instantaneously and even remembered the exact number. gosh. quite amazing.
after qing's haircut (hahaha! she layered it this time), we went to eat, then walked around a little. walked to emerald bk and did hw there. hahaa. quite distracting 'cos we kept talking to each other and kept writing notes for the pple we're supposed to write to and estimation is not a particularly nice topic 'cos some examples dun really help much and i got a little confused about the sample mean and population mean thing. hahaha:D long sentence:D
then it's gathering time! hahaa. so nice to see everyone together. everyone blended quite nicely with each other though seriously speaking, i haven't seen some pple for some time. actually more of like haven't seen nina, haven't seen sam, haven't seen yingxin... yup:)
only the 10 of us though.. heh. me, huiyuan, tracy, isobel, sam, nina, jitsy, joanne, yingxin and weez:D hehe. chiew got something on, miss lee got flu, sze disappeared, qing's not feeling well, yun got something on too, fungi has her team dinner, yileng has performance...can't remember what happened to the rest. haha:D
we went to the same steamboat buffet place we went to last yr! (PTE pple and huiyuan and nina and i can't remember who else. hahaha) i hope i dun get a stomachache tmr:)
then me, weez, nina and of course, huiyuan, waited for her dad to come while iso waited for her dad to come and we had those scenarios when u say what u'll choose things. hahaa.
nice time together:D

-so she said what's the problem baby
what's the problem i don't know
well maybe i'm in love (love)
think about it all the time
think about it
can't stop thinking 'bout it
how much longer will it take to cure this
just to cure this 'cos i can't ignore it if it's love (love)
makes me wanna turn around and face me
but i don't know nothing 'bout love
come on, come on,
turn a little faster
come on, come on,
the world will follow after,
come on come on,
'cause everybody's after love-
hahahaha:D been humming this song for past few days and throughout my whole maths r today. even zara caught onto the tune and started to hum it as well:) *grInz* quite amusing. the thing is, i didn't know what i was humming until i hummed it in front of jitsy and she went 'not you too!' hahaha. and she told me that it's a shrek2 song! hahaha. then got jitsy to teach me the lyrics as we walked to the busstop. hahaha. i've got a bad memory:D
'accidentally in love' by counting crows:D
yup:D we had cg today! hahaha. quite funny. very nice time of having fun, sharing, meeting God, discussing stuff around, fellowship..would have stayed there if not for the fact that it's getting late. haha:D so sad. can't wait to see them on sat.
was half planning my study schedule today. hahaha:) quite tedious to have to plan exactly what topics u wanna finish, exactly how u wanna revise. ah well:) but i gotta do that or else i'll definitely run out of time:) ohoh! read in readers' digest today that stress will affect the neurons in the brain, which would cause memory loss. so yup. DON'T BE STRESSED or else you can't remember anything and it'll turn into a cycle. hahaha.
saw geraldine (nanyang junior. actually not really junior..just met her on 157 with jasmine and we made friends and have been talking since then. haha:D) on 31 when i was going home:) she's in tj now 'cos couldn't make it to vj and she...seemed to dislike tj a lot. hahaha:D from the bus trip home, i gathered tt she hates tj and she's now miserable, tired and fugly (fugly=fat and ugly)... of course she's not fugly, but she thinks so anyway. hahaa:D i told her tt with her new haircut and dyed hair and all, she looks like cleopetra. a pretty cleopetra. hahaha:D but she's still quite funny. heard some news about jamie (ava junior) who was in tj..and got expelled: gosh. nanyang's reputation is not very good in tj right now. hahaa:)
and i'm not the only one who likes both literature and bio! hahaha! geraldine was deciding between BOTH as well! cool! 'cept that she took the lit path. i took the bio path. yeah. tt's my main point. hahaa:)
vj has vip. tj has tip.
all of them form words. so interesting.

all of them form words. so interesting.
"Now then, just as the LORD promised, he has kept me [Caleb] alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses, while Israel moved about in the desert. So here I am today, eighty-five years old! I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I'm just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then. Now give me this hill country that the LORD promised me that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities were large and fortified, but, the LORD helping me, I will drive them out just as he said" (Joshua 14:10-12, NIV).
Caleb--quite a risk taker to be certain. In the words of the unknown writer:
RISK
To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out for another is to risk involvement.
To place our ideas, our dreams, before a crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To hope is to risk despair.
To try is to risk failure.
"Risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. The person who risks nothing does nothing, has nothing, is nothing. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he simply cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love ...live. Chained by his certitude, he is a slave; he has forfeited freedom. "
What a privilege for us to be able to walk by faith in God Himself, armed with all the promises of His Word. I suppose we all desire the security of the solid tree trunk, but the fruit is out on the limb. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. The timid soul asks, 'What do I stand to lose if I do it?' The fruit-bearing Christians asks, 'What do I stand to lose if I don't do it?' Real life is lived on the cutting edge."
What will you and I risk for God and his work here on earth?

"A lizard can be caught with the hand, yet it is found in king's palaces" (Proverbs 30:28, NIV).
What could a tiny lizard possibly teach us? For one thing it can teach us the rewards of persistence. It has been said that, "The race is not always to the swift but to those who keep on running." This principle certainly applies to fulfilling our God-given life-purpose and achieving our human and spiritual potential. We don't have to be geniuses to do this, but we do need to be persistent and keep on keeping on regardless of our circumstances.
The Apostle Paul experienced all sorts of trials and setbacks. He was shipwrecked, stoned and left for dead, whipped and beaten, thrown in jail for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He knew first hand what it was to experience loneliness, cold and hunger. He wrote some of his great letters to the churches while he was in prison--as did John Bunyan with his book, Pilgrim's Progress, when he was in prison.
I listened to a preacher some time ago, a preacher who had cerebral palsy and struggled with every sentence he spoke.I was deeply moved. God used this man to influence hundreds of lives for all eternity. If ever I saw persistence it was in this man. In spite of his debilitating handicap he reached his top and was maximizing his full potential.
God has a plan and a life-purpose for every one of us. To achieve it, it will take dedication, commitment, hard work and persistence. As Paul said, "It is God himself in his mercy who has given us this wonderful work ... and so we never give up."
...
Amen!

do u know that pineapples contain a lot of prostaglandins, which cause the contraction of the uterine muscles, which is why it's not recommended for pregnant ladies to eat pineapples. because it might just cause the baby to be aborted.
wheee. end of option topic today. finally. hahaha. which means the start of revision. which draws us nearer to the end of the second last lap of race for JC...the prelims:)
-thank you for the music
the songs I’m singing
thanks for all the joy they’re bringing
who can live without it
I ask in all honesty
what would life be
without a song or a dance what are we
so I say thank you for the music
for giving it to me-

-sing praise to the Lord and God of all
His love endures forever
for He is good, He's above all things
His love endures forever
sing praise, sing praise-
hahaha:D today's the longest day out of the whole entire week, yet i was able to be quite refreshed throughout the day (much much better than most of other tuesdays), through no credit of mine though...it was God giving me the concentration needed during the lectures and tutorials and even while doing maths! d.e2's integration still bothers me though. hhaa.
i'm proud of my bio practical!
yeah! met cs today! hahaha. super amusing. walked to her house for her to get her wallet, then her dad nicely volunteered to send us back to school. *grInz* under normal circumstances, that would have been great, but tonight, our destination was kembangan cc. haha. saw tiffy and crystal mugging in school! at 7.50pm!
ended up at cafe cartel with rollercoaster prices which quite amuse me as well. no idea why. didn't know there's so-called a free-flow of bread. hhaa:)
it's also quite amusing (for a lack of a better word:D) to see a name from last year resurfacing this year. haha. i can still remember the date... 21st of december last yr. hahaa. day after jt's b-day:)
econs lect had a strange effect on me today. i suddenly had a clear understanding of what it means to have PRELIMS COMING SOON. hahaa. was counting the number of topics for each subject in my head and wondering if i'll have enough time to finish studying.
a quiet realisation.

yeah! i love mondays. hahaha. i wonder why pple have the monday blues. monday's always been quite a nice day for me:) if i've ever said anything in the contrary, ignore them. this is the new statement for mondays. haha:D
nothing extraordinary happened today...the choir pple bought chocolates for the whole class. hahaa:D i think they all collaborated together to buy chocs. hmmm. serene had a haircut that caused her to look like some spanish doll or something. d.e 2 tutorial is hard to do not because of the nature of the topic, but because i can't integrate some stuff and therefore can't complete the curves. surprisingly, the class pple had the same sentiments (abt d.e2 being hard) and mr ho was very nice! he went through one qn first in class so tt we can actually go back home and try d.e2 again. he was in a relatively good mood as well. hahaha.
i find doing schedules quite a fun thing to do. following them is another matter:D hahaha:)

hear the new lyrics of 'i am cow'!
-Is is cow, hear Is moo
Is weighs twice as much as you
and Is looks good on a barbecue
yogurt, curd cream, cheese and butter
made from liquids from Is's udder
Is is cow, Is is cow
hear Is moo-
Is is qing's new cow!:D hahaha. talking nonsense. talking to qingz and fungi now and talking a whole bunch of nonsense. actually we were discussing abt fungi's upcoming canoeing nationals!:D *grInz* this thurs and fri.
went for service this morning!:D with jiali, jitsy, jingting (3 Js.. gosh.the abundant number of pple's names starting with the letter J in east never fails to surprise me), gwen and sihui:D heh. think they reshuffled the pple here and there...seems to see some pple who weren't supposed to be in first service before...hahaa:) then we went to eat at fat mamas! nice food. everyone should come and try it:D
then went to study with the rest at macs. hahaha. joanna was the earliest (surprisingly), then it turned out that she was there early to shepherd her sheep (fiona). haha. was contentedly doing my bio stuff when pple started to stream in and made me feel so strange at not buying food i succumbed to the pressure of pple's stares and bought food in the end so that i won't be just sitting there and using up their space for free.
it's quite a stoned study session actually. was doing my work quite mechanically. gosh. and i forgot to bring my maths tutorials. hahaha.
thank God tomorrow's a short day.

hahaha:D was just pondering over the main question of the day--- 'which university to go to - SMU or NUS?'
went for the mock smu seminar today in the morning. it was really good! like it motivates u to speak up and to air ur views and the lecturer doesn't laugh at ur suggestions at all. we were discussing 'is a happy person a motivated person?' hahaha:D didn't know tt there's actually a model for the formula for motivation! it's the House's something something. hahaha:D some of the stuff he said reminded me of the counselling seminar yesterday:D really cool. and the students were friendly and confident and sociable and everything. hahaha.
and it feels really good to know that not all pple can get in. there was this 4As student who couldn't get in 'cos his interview answers were ... the qn was like 'what's ur favourite number?' and he answered '88 'cos 8 means fortune'. ah well. of course, the interview's kinda worrying as well.
but the system is SO GOOD! my gosh. it'll make learning quite enjoyable. no tutorials, no lectures, just seminars. like 3 hours per module a week and u have four modules. so it's like only 12 hours of seminars a week:D and they count classroom participation in as well..like around 20-25% of the whole entire assessment. project work is 40% and 20% for end of yr exams and the rest for small tests and quizes. quite cool:D dun have to worry about slacking the whole time through 'cos u definitely HAVE TO participate in class so it's like u definitely have to read and know ur materials beforehand.
and it's a really cozy environment 'cos u know ur lecturers and everything.
although that really deters me is the business aspect! aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
we felt won over by smu after the whole thing. hahaha:D gosh.
ah well.
college day was cool too. hahaha:D sitting in the pt was much, much better than sitting in LT1 last yr with a fighting fish at ur feet. hahaha. andrea gave a really good speech! hahaa.
went for dinner with corinne, steph, dancing and ruxuan after college day. we went to mos (really cold), then walked around. i think everyone's quite tired..hhaaha:D
service tmr! yeah!
going for first service though. guess i won't see the uni pple. ah well:)

i didn't realise that i had unforgiveness in my heart until God showed it to me while sharmaine was teaching about it during the counselling seminar. i was quite shocked 'cos i realised that i've subtly known that it's there, but had pushed it away and tried to give reasons for it. so i committed it to the Lord, and i used the method of what i learnt during the seminar..and goodness, my heart feels so much lighter after doing so.
:)
end of counselling seminar today...topic was inner healing. the whole series of counselling seminar was truly interesting. hahaha:D really hope that i can learn more in the future as well.

hohoho.
today is no-school day:D
whole class didn't go to school 'cos we didn't need to! no lessons before 9.20am and the whole class is going down to support munbbill in his national econs quiz while me and steph are sitting in the pt and have no need to line the driveway and grin stupidly at the guest of honour:D
can't go for service afterall though. so sad. EVEYONE has to report to sch by 2pm. ah well:)
my shoulders and arms ache from pe yesterday. hahaha. phu dorje (is that the spelling? can't quite remember:D) is hard to climb:P
was looking for jits after maths r and she was looking at the aquariums beside the turtle pond (with no turtles) with a bio teacher and some other teacher and students. hahah:D the aquariums are so cool! they're regenerating corals 'cos corals in the wild are endangered and there's snails by the side of the tank (who look really gross when they're feeding) and there're sea cucumbers (we eat them! oh gosh. i didn't know they can move:P) and corals and this little fish which had worms and was going to die. so poor thing. there's a tank with dorys and nemos and one ...uhoh. i can't remember the name. the fish that jits liked the best:D
quite a nice experience:D
if only we had the tanks when we were doing ecology! then the topic won't be so dry!!!
had cg:D funny time. cg started much later than expected and after testimony time, me, jits, yaoguo and gwen had to rush down to nexus 'cos it was already 7.21pm! oh! didn't know yaoguo was from the same primary sch as me. hahaha:D
counselling seminar was on dealing with depression yesterday night. was really informative and some of the misbeliefs of depression actually caught me and jits by surprise. hahaha. i wish there was more time though.
pastor dinah's really conversatory. so interestin':)

"David was conscience stricken after he had counted thefighting men, and he said to the Lord, 'I have sinnedgreatly in what I have done. Now, O Lord, I beg you, takeaway the guilt of your servant. I have done a very foolishthing'" (2 Samuel 24:10, NIV).
David was conscience stricken because he knew he had disobeyed the Lord's directives. Have you ever noticed how some people, no matter what they do, don't seem to have a conscience, or have a dead conscience and justify their every action? And then there is the philosophy that says,"If it feels good, do it." This is supposed to make it right.
Everybody is born with a conscience that is programmed very much by the way we are brought up. The word con-science literally means with-knowledge. If we grew up in a rigid, legalistic and punitive home or church/religion chances are we will have a rigid, legalistic, punitive conscience.
On the other hand, if we grew up in a very liberal environment, we may do things that God's Word teaches are sinful and not feel a tinge of conscience. As a result of faulty teaching, some people feel guilty when they shouldn't and don't feel guilty when they should(been there--done that). On the other hand, people who consistently ignore the voice of their conscience can end up anesthetizing or deadening it, which is a dangerous way to live. Some of these people become psychopaths.
To have a healthy conscience, first we need to deprogram the rigid legalism and other faulty input and teaching we received in the past as well as our rationalization of actions we knew very well were wrong. Then we need to reprogram our conscience with knowledge based on what God's Word teaches as right and wrong. Repetition, repetition, repetition in our mind of these principles is how we begin to reprogram our conscience.
To reinforce this programming it is imperative that we consistently do what we know is right regardless of how we feel. Remember, a healthy con-science is with-knowledge, not with-feelings.

came back from counselling seminar:D it was good!:D
me and jits got roped into helping the youth and uni pple register...hahaha. i think i'm bad at collecting money. the money didn't tally in the end! there was more money collected than the amount calculated from the list.
oh no. haha. sk (guy in charge of collecting all the money in the end) was quite amused.
quite fun helping pple to register though...i realise that the time for pple to register occurs in a normal distribution:D
speaking of normal distributions, mr ho was very nice today. he only requested for us to finish one question of D.E2 by tmr:D i think he's not feeling well...physically. hmmm...
ohoh! i learnt something in bio which quite amazed me. do u know the embryo (we consider the cells an embryo upon fertilization), while implanted into the womb, actually invaginates(forming finger-like projections) INTO the uterus wall, and to prevent itself form being expelled from the mother's womb ('cos the genes are different and the mother's body will actually recognise it as a foreign body), the embryo will actually secrete its own hormones to maintain the uterus wall:
we're talking about a bunch of cells knowing how to survive in its (not even his or her yet) environment! we're talking about us when we were a bunch of cells!
wow. God is so smart.
knew about what nimby meant too... it's a group of pple who doesn't mind anything as long as it doesn't affect them:) nimby is a set of abbreviations for Not In My Back Yard... so these pple dun mind having things like a nuclear plant being built as long as it's not near anywhere they go...they'll like 'nono. you can't build that plant 'cos i can see it even though it's like 30 miles away. go build it somewhere else'. hahaha:D so amusing.
heard tt the j1s had racial harmony 'celebrations' today whereby most of them stood around and watched when they had mass dance. *bonks* what's vj coming to!
anyway, while the lucky ones were having mass dance... we were having a talk by NUS about the scholars' programme offered in nus:
do you know chicken whopper went out of stock?: hahaahah:D
-i have destiny and purpose
and a joy you can't conceive
'cos Jesus,
He lives inside of me!-

-light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
opened my eyes, let me see
beauty that makes this heart adore You
hope of a life spent with You-
it feels good not to have to prepare for maths tutorial:) maybe tt's what's good about mr ho's policy of finishing tutorials at least a week in advance. hahaha:D
mr chan was very funny today. he was telling us about prelim stuff and he was like saying 'prelims you definitely can't get good results...', referring to econs. and we were like goggle-eyed and then he said 'u'll get ur usual Es and Os and a good grade is C... of course, some pple will get their usual As...' and he gave us some exam strategies. saying that if currently the foundation of all the subs are not strong, should just focus on 2 or 3 subjects first, get those right and get the results for them before studying for the last subject after prelims. stated that it's better than getting all Os and then not knowing which sub to study for. hope it helps u all to prepare for prelims as well.
bio prac was painful. had to look at more than 10 microscopic slides in a row for an hour and 15 mins...my eyes were dying by the end of it all. can't understand how pple in the research field can look into the microscope for more than a few hours: but it was good i guess... good revision.
yeah. tt's about it all for today.
ohoh! i got a new riddle from michelle. hahaha:D
which word remains the same when we remove the front, remains the same when we remove the back and remains the same when we remove the middle?
(hint: it's not so much about spelling)
heheh. guess!:D

YES! i can make it for service this sat to meet God and to watch centrestage finals. hahaha:D
'cos it's like our class is given this opportunity to either go and support munbbill in the national econs quiz... or to go for college day. hahaa. but then mr chan still needed two pple to go and sit in the PT. since i'm going for the smu thing in the morning and most probably won't be able to reach nus to support munbbill on time, and since steph doesn't mind sitting in the pt as well, we've decided to volunteer ourselves to enjoy the seats in pt for 2 hours+. haha.
-God is so good,
God is so good,
God is so good,
He's so good to me-
He took away my feverishness and He took away my headache after praying. praise God!:D
...
hahaha. i'm still thinking about what mr ho thinks about the sms we sent him.. 'cos mr ho will chase pple out of the class if he says to finish certain tutorials by a certain date(even if he's not going to touch the tutorial until like a week or 2 later...) and we got the news from zara tt D.E2 tutorial is to be done by today just before maths tutorial! *gasp* so we sent mr ho a message asking if we'll be chased out of class or will we be allowed in for tutorial...he never replied. haha. then we got the news that wenqi said we dun have to do D.E2 by today afterall. how confuzzling.
the cat which always comes to my house to eat has been integrated into part of the household. every morning before going to school, it'll be fed. every afternoon when mum comes home, it'll be fed. every evening when we eat dinner, it'll be fed.
every night when we watch tv, it'll be patted. when it doesn't appear for a day or so, mum will look for it. i'll look for it.
how pampered.

yesterday was centrestage semifinals and centrestage semi finals was cool! hahahaha:D
gosh. saw the contestants in a different light after the competition...each of them have their own style and some even looked like they owned the stage. lolita, especially, was very confident:)
gwen was the first one to sing and we cheered and cheered for her. hahaha. then sengkim ran down to pass her the rose tt we bought and it was an interesting sight.
the central pple are so farnie! when eesiew was singing, a whole bunch of the sisters just went to the front of the stage to pass her flowers, presents...bears. hahaha:D she looked like a star giving a concert with all the presents at hand. priscilla (who was emceeing...she's funny too! hahaha. she made a joke about how we shouldn't forget to buy flowers for her next week) had to help eesiew carry her stuff.
and gosh. gerald's song was... whoa. hahaha. 'cos his voice texture suited those for singing slow songs...and he sang a slow song by westlife and with his voice it can make pple swoon.
hahaha:D
really was a starlit afternoon:D
anyway, four pple got into the finals (which is next week!!!:D:D:D) they are gwen, sharlene, nel and gerald.
tough competition. hahahaha:D
pastor taught a teaching about music and i remember a fact he told us.
he said that the most number of songs were written about Jesus...and the second topic that's most written about lacks really far far behind. and that why this is so is 'cos music comes from the heart.
songs are written to express how the heart feels.
and i think it really is true:D
went for chocolate exchange after that!:D hahaha. except for the occasional insect bites that were irritating, everything went really well:D we cooked and ate and cooked and ate at first, then started to sing songs ('cos there's a guitar) and melted cadbury chocolate with strawberries and bananas really rock!:D we also played mafia. hahaha:D poor huiwen kept getting killed in the first round..and she was so frustrated after tt. hahahaa:D we played soccer too!
then a whole bunch of us hitchhiked onto huiying's third aunt's lorry for a ride home. there was me, debbie, jitsy, rachel, jean, freedy, eugene (izzit? can't really recall his name..hehe:D), eelee, nicholas, huiwen and sengkim. hahaha. all at the back of the lorry telling lame jokes and playing the number game. and doing forfeits:D
hahha. great time of bonding and fellowship.
went to study at emerald bk today.. there was lincoln, rachel, jean, xinyi and joanna (in order of arrival). chicken whopper meal lasted for 4 hours which was really surprising. hahaa:D sengkim blessed me in the morn with breakfast when i passed him his stats forms and in turn the breakfast blessed twin. thought it was interesting:D hahaha. realised tt we're blessed in vj with our bio teachers 'cos cj's doing the same option topics as us and their notes are quite disastrous, while our 'growth, development and reproduction' tb with extra notes (loads of them) are quite sufficient for us to do almost every qn. hahaha:D
quite a fruitful time...we did work continuously from 12++ to 9pm. speed of work varies though. hahaha. saw rachel (fong) and 2 yhope sisters i can't remember the name of... saw patricia (the person whom jits was attached to for multimedia), saw huichun and marcus and the nus west unit pple... hahaa.
interesting 2 days:)

got reminded of the msgs i received yesterday just now...
frankly speaking, i dunno whether to be glad or to cry.
hahha.
glad 'cos she's clarifying her doubts and everything, rather than cause them to grow roots in her heart.
cry. hahaha. 'cos i dunno why we're still revolving around the same topic tt's been beaten so many times. 'cos she's not growing much.
because.
-yet will i praise thee
lift my hands to You
yet will i praise thee
i will bow before the King and praise thee-
guan's nick is quite nice
'tell me how many beads there are in a silver chain of evening rain'
:)

Lord of creation
where does my help come from
it cometh from the Lord
the author of love and courage and strength
He's where my help comes from
who gives me peace within
peace like the still waters
the Father of heaven and all universe
He gives me peace within
Lord of creation, all sing Your praise
the beautiful name of Jesus proclaimed
no one, no other, You are my all
take me and lead me to serve Your call
You are the answer to life's mystery
You are the reason i came to be
now with Your peace and annointing on me
Father i offer my life unto thee
where does my help come from
it cometh from the Lord
the author of love and courage and strength
He's where my help comes from
who gives me peace within
peace like the still waters
the Father of heaven and all universe
He gives me peace within
Lord of creation, all sing Your praise
the beautiful name of Jesus proclaimed
no one, no other, You are my all
take me and lead me to serve Your call
You are the answer to life's mystery
You are the reason i came to be
now with Your peace and annointing on me
Father i offer my life unto thee

i'm amazed. hahaha. since when did blogger have this nice thing about changing colour and font and what-nots? ah well... nevermind about it:) i hope this post doesn't turn out as black or something:P
yeah well.
had an unusual day today.
first and foremost, i woke up late today! gosh. i remember having this dream about going for another camp and i remembered the whole process of going to camp, what we did in camp and was actually on my way home, going up an escalator, when weezi called me. hahaha. can u imagine how appalled i was when i woke up and realise that no, i wasn't in camp or anything but was actually late for school with the sky already beginning to lighten.
how disastrous.
hahaha:D
yeah well:) went to school and couldn't find where gp lesson was ('cos gp lesson always change venues)... smsed tk who never replied, called steph who never answered, called lydia and she was on her way to school. and by the time i finished calling, it was 9.25am. 5 mins late for gp. ah well...so i sat -all by myself- (hahaha! the one-line song!) in the concourse when david miraculously appeared next to me and started returning me my pen and what-nots. there. God sent company:)
the rest of the day went as per-normal:)
made the decision to join jits and weez and jane to go back to nanyang 'cos they were going to consult miss lee about universities and what-nots. detoured to cine to eat lunch and the song of 'i am cow' surfaced once more 'cos jane wanted to know the lyrics. formed a song on the way from cine to ny 'cos somehow or another the topic changed from cows to sheep, then to goats. yeah. i forgot the tune. but the original lyrics go like this. hahaha:D
-there was once a little goat,
sitting on a little boat
sailing down a little stream
floating into a summer dream
then the little goat got off
after which, he gave a cough
nibbled on a farmer's button
and then was chopped up into mutton-
jitsy liked the first stanza, but didn't quite appreciate the second. i explained that there must be an ending to the song but *sniff* got a response that wasn't quite positive. hahaha:D
so i changed the second stanza to:
-then the little goat got lost
but fear for him? we sure do not
he found his way and then went on
sailing down to the far beyond-
i'm quite proud of my song. hahaha. the tune rather. just tt now i've forgotten the song, the lyrics dun make much sense. *grInz*
nanyang remained the same. felt as though we've never left it. hahaha. miss lee was no longer at her desk, mrs yong was on leave, mrs pang has gone to teach in ACS(I) and the three of them were going to the toilet when i peeked over the third storey stair railings and saw miss choo! hahaa.
went to the second storey to look for laoshi, but saw chen laoshi instead. ah well... apparently, laoshi's on a course. how coincidental.
so we talked a little to chen laoshi...and then we talked a whole bunch of lots of schooling stuff with miss choo. hehehe. the teachers looked really tired 'cos now ny's running three parallel education things... the integrated programme, gep and mainstream.
then we went to the library... hahaha:D one thing i like better in ny than vj is the library! our nice three-storey high library with computers, lots of books, lots of tables, lots of space, a student lounge (which isn't really a lounge 'cos it only have one super comfortable sofa and lots of scholarship magazines staring at you) and a comics and games corner!
the librarian was nice enough to let us go in. hehe:D
then went to hc to look for qing. hahaha. wanted to look for isobel too but her extra lessons end at 6.45pm!: gosh.
hahaha. nice seeing qing and her friends. didn't stay long though. the student lounge in hc was closing.
went down to eunos after that:) and tt's tt:)
93 takes a super fast time to reach toa payoh. took 20 mins to reach toa payoh from eunos. i'm amazed:D

i think it's quite troublesome when you roughly know who reads your blog and who doesn't. and there's no function in blogger which gives you a private entry...and typing does help to clear up my thoughts faster than writing in my diary 'cos by the time i finish writing, the thoughts would have disappeared and poofed into smoke, dispersed by the wind, never to be seen again.
thank God for God who's always with me and who's only a prayer away that i can talk to Him about anything and everything and my burdens and disappointments, my joy and my delight.
sometimes it feels as though all i wanna do is to pray.
i miss my shepherd. heh.
wonder how she is...
gwenie's one of the semi-finalists for centrestage and we made a very nice sign to cheer her on. hahaha:D
except that no one other than my dear adorable brothers and sisters are coming to see it.
hear me sigh.

mr mark li wasn't here today so i'm having this 3 and a half hrs break before maths r. lydia and steph are beside me looking for pictures of hideaki takizawa...
i dunno what to say. hahaha:D playing backgammon in the comp lab right now. didn't quite expect so much free time.
nygep gathering on the 30th of july, friday, in the evening...would u all prefer to have a bbq (which will save me lots and lots and lots of trouble. hahah:D) at east coast? or would you all like to once more go for the steamboat buffet at marina bay?:D we can play games at the table. hahaha. and do something else.
'meshed in by the enclosure of restraints,
invisible barriers set by eyes unseen,
a fault, stopping the transition of thoughts into words
i see, i hear, i feel.
i do not speak'

mum threw up a total fuss upon passing me a letter from the health sciences authority with reference to the blood donation made about a month ago. now she and dad are in the living room murmuring about how a lack of blood will cause ur veins to dunno-do-wat and what-nots:D
and fungi's competing in the canoeing nationals on the 28th, 29th and 30th at kallang. hahaha. can go and support her. qing echos the same sentiments...she can't express it on her blog though...'cos her friends from hc canoeing will slaughter her:D
i kept receiving emails sent by sms.ac 'cos of friends inviting me to try out for the free sms by email thing...hehe. i've tried signing up a few times but i always seem to incur an error.
this organiser is having a headache trying to think of what everyone can do:P
now this organiser is having a headache trying to plan everything out. hahahaa.
money matters here and there.
hmmm. the organiser has an idea. from last time gatherings...hmmm...
the student realises that night is short and time is running out. the student is going off soon.
this child of God wishes to talk to Him very much as well. goodnight everyone:)

I am the number 1 I am the loneliest number _ |
this quiz by orsa
awwwww. so sad:P
anyway, i've realised that to reduce the temptation the computer poses, one just have to stick a piece of paper with the words 'be FAITHFUL!' on it on the computer screen. strangely enough, it causes my appetite to go online to be greatly reduced, until i find it bothersome to even turn on the computer...
maybe i should paste a piece of paper on the tv as well. hahaha:D
we've got our prelim timetables. hahaha:D how thrilling:D
was out in the evening buying stuff for yingcui as my handing-down present when i saw jieyun again. hahaha.
had quite a relaxing day today... rather amused when i heard lynette and mr mark li talking in the same way (one due to her wisdom teeth being plucked out, the other 'cos of an ulcer). the lectures passed by...as lectures do. got released 15 mins earlier from econs lect (yeah! my eyes were dying to keep themselves up)'cos the lecturer finished earlier than expected.
...
hahaha! got this website off fungi's blog... hhahaa. i nearly died laughing looking at it too:P
disgusting guy.
according to fungi,
'apparently it's the website of the weird eyebrow plucking guy who roams around outside tangs, pouncing from behind corners to accost unwitting victims'
whatever.
...
distracted distracted. bio prac today was surprisingly relaxing. we looked at milk curdle and milk solids wobble and the sink gargling it all up.
libing suggested to me that tofu could be made in that way, and said that they could have given use huang2 dou4 nai3. as a lover of tofu,i object!
can u imagine? tofu made by curdling dou4 nai3? so disgusting. i'll never be able to eat tofu properly again:|
eeeewwwwwwwwwww.
hahaha:D

hahahaa. was about to blog about studying but something else came which was more important. hahaha:D
please pray for Project Acts! hahaha. okayokay. i know this has nothing much to do with us right now..but still pray for it lahz. hahha:D it's similar to Y-Acts and gosh. 100 partipants this time round in contrast to last yr's... eh. 20+? hahaha:D
pray for smu too:) heheh.
and vj:D
so interesting. was just talking to jieyun after studying today 'cos me, twin and lincoln saw her outside emerald and we talked a little on the train about everyone else (catching up and all) and then she was asking me if i still kept in touch with junting and i was like 'heh. not really..only on msn' hahaha. and now i'm talking to junting on msn again:)
anyway. studied today (or rather, did tutorials:P) with lincoln, jitsy and twin (in order of arrival):D hehe. was nearly frozen to death in bk and had to walk around to thaw a few times:)

-He is worthy of our praises
so we lift our voices high
Spirit come,
fill this place-
there was a song in prayer meet today which put into words what i wanted to tell God but was unable to express through human words..
forgot what the song title is though. heh:D
felt tt service spoke to me today:) hehe. i've never thought that i'll ever reach the day when i'll say that i need to be more joyful in all circumstances.
quite interesting:)
gosh. i'm falling asleep.
went for the tsd public performance with jiali, gwen and jits. actually it was originally jiali and gwen, then i decided to go and jits got coerced into going:)
quite nice though:D hahaha. some pieces could have been made much better if there's a change of materials used, or improvements in the side characters...but nevertheless, an enjoyable time of theatrical works:D oh. mr gary tang was there too. hahahaa.

today is quite an interesting day:)
had shepherding in the morning in the concourse at one of those cafe tables (the round shiny type..accompanied with cold shiny chairs):D hehe.
then had gp.. sat beside libing and patricia and patricia lost her $50 and libing was happily chatting away to me and huiling so i was stuck between two different worlds of emotions.
thankfully pat found her $50...kenneth picked it up and replied 'yes boss!' when pat asked him about it:P
it's quite amusing to have like 5-7 pple gathering around 1 small shiny cafe table. hahaha:D but tt's what happened during break... the guys at 1 table, the girls at the other.
fell asleep during maths lect. heh. guess 4 hours of sleep ain't enough for me.
bio and chem tutorial went past quite smoothly. then got back maths paper. aiyah. dun talk abt it. away i go into maths r again. hahaha:D
i take heart that the former soccer captain had 4 rememdials until As...when he got 4As. yes.
went with huiling, jacqueline and libing to siglap to eat the famous yong tau foo...hahaha:D haven't gone out with libing and huiling before but the company and food was good so everything went quite well. lots of laughter too:)
then libing and i had to take 155 out to VS and then change to another bus ...for me to go to sch and for her to go home:)
was quite amused on the way to sch 'cos i saw zara's j1 fren, saw priya, saw corinne's classmate, saw munbbill, saw jiali:)
was actually wondering if i should meet cs later 'cos of the stepping down ceremony but then i didn't want to change the meeting time 'cos it's quite impt..so didn't go for stepping down ceremony in the end. poor yingcui. she must be wondering where i am. haha.
went to the library and saw dancing! hahaha. quite funny. used her card to borrow 'the dark tower - wizard and glass' by stephen king. well, if it's nice, i'll recommend. expletives inside though:P i dislike them A LOT. oh! but the cover is nice! and it's a nice 800+ pages book. pretty.
then met cs:) walked with her to siglap:) hahaha...i have an affinity for siglap today. settled at kfc which was nice and deserted and ... well. nice. hahaha.
had a good time just talking and turning out stuff. quite an amusing time too. can't remember why..just remembered tt we kept laughing in kfc:)
oh! the auntie was so nice! she gave us a discount. hhahaa. actually she heard wrongly and i think she doesn't know how to change the value..so yah. she just gave us a discount:D hahah.
then we walked to her house. realised tt it's pretty near to gwen's. 20-30mins walk?:)
oh yah! before i forgot. i've got something lame to share:D thought of it in the afternoon.
u know vj has the VIP thing right? (victoria integrated programme)...then pple who enter it will be called the VIPers... and when they greet the teacher, they can go 'good afternoon ssssssssss-ir!'
well. not funny. i know.
whatever:D *grInz*

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick; but when dreams come true at last, there is life and joy" (Proverbs 13:12, TLB).
"These boys won't make it. Go back to Liverpool, Mr. Epstein, you have a good business there." This is what a recording company executive told the Beatle's manager at their first audition!
"That kid can't play baseball. He can't pull the ball," is what the manager of the Brave's Tripple A team said about Hank Aaron in 1952. Aaron went on to hit 755 home runs, breaking all previous records.
Remember, no matter what the critics say, in God's economy, everybody has a purpose and everybody has something of value to offer. Never give up until you know what your talent is; then sharpen it, dedicate it to God, and give it all you've got. Take courage. Nothing you do for God will ever be in vain. Remember, too, that one of the greatest ways we can serve God is by helping others--and every one of us can do that every day.
Also, as long as what you are choosing to do is in harmony with God's will, then dream big dreams, work hard, trust God and in time you will reap what you sow and be richly rewarded. Know your God-given dreams and keep hope alive no matter what the setbacks and never ever give up

yeah:) got my calculator, notebook and pens..now i feel more on track.
came back from cg and buying stuff with mum:) cg was nice:D it's always good to see the brothers and sisters:) the buncha pple whom i live out my life with:)
-O feel my Saviour Jesus' pain
as he lies on the cross
O feel my Saviour Jesus' pain
the sky murmurs with rain
how wonderful His death is done
what sins He's washed away
He suffered to see payment done
for us - a bright new day-

koped this from qing's blog. thought it's quite interesting. a 4/13 refuge!
'visualise a bright sunny morning, a deep blue sky dotted with white fluffy clouds
the scene shows a person jumping into the crystal blue water, enclosed by a huge expanse of pearly white sand..next the camera will sweep across the beach and show a group of girls immersed in a hot spring pool, boy do they look relaxed..
then a bright pink billboard is seen in the distance..as the camera zooms in, the words become much much clearer:
FOUR-THIRTEEN INC
heh dunno why this just came into my mind, cos it's like everytime i'm not feeling that happy or what..meeting up with this bunch of friends always make me feel better..so it's like 4/13 INC.. haha a place for you to revigorate yourself and make you refreshed for the rest of the demanding school term.'
hehehe:D can't really call it 4/13 inc...i think fungi and jitsy would slaughter us quite happily.
here's a message to all nygeppers (especially those who dun check their email...the following is an exact copy of what i've sent out in the yahoogroups)
hey everyone! let's have an outing! hahaha. before everyone starts to mug for their prelims and what-nots and lock themselves in the house and refuse to come out. please reply fast and spread the message around 'cos we want to have it in june...most likely on the 17th to the 31st of july:D
speaking of which, before i continue, Yhope is holding the semifinals for CENTRESTAGE and it's guaranteed to be a cool time of songs and dance:D so anyone who wants to come to watch centrestage semifinals on the 17th from 2-4pm in somerset, can contact me:D
yeah anyway. give me a suggestion about when u all want it, what you all want to do, weekday or weekend, when you're not free... and i'll help to coordinate everything, okay?:)
i was thinking we can go and eat some buffet (inform early so that everyone will have enough time to save up) since it's been some time we've talked and a long talk is just what we need to catch up and to console each other about the results and what-nots---or not to think about it, and to get rid of any cynicisms, jadedness or disappointments through the conversations 'cos afterall, we're with each other, and that's all that'll matter for the time we see each other:D)...
maybe we can have a little bit of programme too. hehe. let's make this a major one before the prelims. can some other pple be nice and help me with the programme too?:D:D
watever it is, REPLY ASAP (if possible, by the 11th of july) and spread the word around! thanks!:D
xinying:D
yeah well. u got the word. now go and spread it around.

heh dunno why this just came into my mind, cos it's like everytime i'm not feeling that happy or what..meeting up with this bunch of friends always make me feel better..so it's like 4/13 INC.. haha a place for you to revigorate yourself and make you refreshed for the rest of the demanding school term.'
hehehe:D can't really call it 4/13 inc...i think fungi and jitsy would slaughter us quite happily.
here's a message to all nygeppers (especially those who dun check their email...the following is an exact copy of what i've sent out in the yahoogroups)
hey everyone! let's have an outing! hahaha. before everyone starts to mug for their prelims and what-nots and lock themselves in the house and refuse to come out. please reply fast and spread the message around 'cos we want to have it in june...most likely on the 17th to the 31st of july:D
speaking of which, before i continue, Yhope is holding the semifinals for CENTRESTAGE and it's guaranteed to be a cool time of songs and dance:D so anyone who wants to come to watch centrestage semifinals on the 17th from 2-4pm in somerset, can contact me:D
yeah anyway. give me a suggestion about when u all want it, what you all want to do, weekday or weekend, when you're not free... and i'll help to coordinate everything, okay?:)
i was thinking we can go and eat some buffet (inform early so that everyone will have enough time to save up) since it's been some time we've talked and a long talk is just what we need to catch up and to console each other about the results and what-nots---or not to think about it, and to get rid of any cynicisms, jadedness or disappointments through the conversations 'cos afterall, we're with each other, and that's all that'll matter for the time we see each other:D)...
maybe we can have a little bit of programme too. hehe. let's make this a major one before the prelims. can some other pple be nice and help me with the programme too?:D:D
watever it is, REPLY ASAP (if possible, by the 11th of july) and spread the word around! thanks!:D
xinying:D
yeah well. u got the word. now go and spread it around.

wahhh...
my hotmail junkmail filter is turned on without my knowledge. no wonder i didn't receive so many mails... gosh.
how disastrous.
my hotmail junkmail filter is turned on without my knowledge. no wonder i didn't receive so many mails... gosh.

John 14:27 -'peace i leave with you; my peace i give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid'
many a times when we have things piling up in our lives, these things actually seemed to form a barrier between us and the free, blue sky. And if we're covered by this barrier long enough, we'll gradually forget that there is this sky above us, and choose to just cower and mourn under the barrier, groaning and complaining about the fact that we are under a lot of pressure.
we need to remember that we just have to choose to stand up and push aside these things that form the barrier, and we'll see the sky again. the first step starts from us.
as the prelims approach, let is not be bothered about how fast it is going to reach us, nor be afraid of whether we have enough time to study or not, but to actually just take the first step into getting into the momentum of studying, of running this study race until the end of the year.
instead of just cowering at the starting line and thinking you do not have the energy to finish running the race. if you do not try, you will not know.
...
as i start this study race and even continue running a longer race ahead, i am really thankful that God has given His Holy Spirit to us. my comforter and counsellor, i truly need Him with me these days.

Weeks of 7 April 2004 to 2 May 2004
(Feel free to distribute for non-profit and non-commercial purposes but keep my byline, email address and URL intact please. Thanks)
I have also learned lately:
1. That the worst time to get bad publicity over things like your $189 million in reserves, your controversial $5 million, um, tie-up with an insurance company for them cross-sell to your donors, and the revelation that only 52 cents out of every dollar raised in 2002 went towards your foundation's beneficiaries, is right before your big annual charity show.
2. That it is not a good idea to try to brush your teeth while shaving in order to save some time.
3. That one day, science will be able to come up with an explanation for the actual difference between a Permanent Resident and a Citizen of Singapore.
4. That it is called Fabric of the Nation, not Fabrication of the Nation.
5. That Singapore citizenship is so fantastic, that out of 290,000 eligible PR, only 7000 of them are willing to take up Singapore citizenship every year.
6. That at last count, 19 women and 2 men have claimed to have slept with Beckham in Singapore, 8 taxi drivers have claimed that they drove him to Geylang, and 2 teens have claimed to have sold him condoms at their branch of Seven-Eleven.
7. That for my next career, I would like to be a professional Charity Show stunt celebrity. I will be available for hire to all charity and quasi-charity organisations for doing donation-drawing stunts like walking on samurai swords, juggling durians, and having blow darts shot at my nether regions.
I will only take a 30 percent cut of the takings that happen during my segment. And a 10% admin fee.
I am currently in training (working on the durian juggling bit), and should have my diploma in Professional Charity Fund Raising soon. These days, charity work is not seen as a third tier career, ok?
8. That a huge part of Singapore gets a blackout and power failure at 11.30pm on the 13th of April and citizens were left fumbling in the dark, with hardly any news and no warnings on the radio and TV.
For one hour, there was a surreal experience of driving through a pitch black Choa Chu Kang estate, with no street lights and traffic lights, and Singapore drivers suddenly developed polite driving habits, slowing down at traffic junctions and giving way to other cars.
Better to be cautious and polite than dead from a car accident, I always say.
9. That taking a shower by candlelight is also a surreal experience. At least if you missed a spot, no one is going to notice in the dark.
10. That as Singaporeans tried to find out more about the blackout, many must have wondered whether the following potentially unsuccessful blackout warning strategies had been tried:
-using the EMAS electronic expressway signboards to warn motorists to drive carefully because there are no working lights or traffic signals, or EMAS signboards for that matter.
-posting signs in lifts to tell residents not to take the lift because there is no power and you could get stuck inside
-broadcasting warnings on TV so that the affected homes will know that they should not panic, and power will be restored soon.
11. That maybe if we don't mention it in the media too much, during the blackout and the morning after, people won't notice we had a major screw up at the power stations.
And if we do mention it, we should keep stressing that power was restored within the hour. And that our two people manning the hotlines were overwhelmed by 27,000 phone calls.
Wow, one hour so fast. I am sure it was a real consolation to the fellow who was driving around in circles in Choa Chu Kang estate trying to find his way out, while dodging cars at traffic junctions that had no traffic signals. Also a real consolation to the chap stuck in the lift the whole time, or the auntie who had to climb 20 freaking floors after coming home from the late shift.
12. That soon they will be telling us that just like the flooding, there is very little they can do about the power failures.
13. That when you decide call home at 12 midnight, after dragging your fat ass up 9 floors to your friend's flat, after giving him a lift, to make a call to your wife to check on her safety (because the damn mobile network is not working on account of the power failure), make sure you do not ask ambiguous questions like "Dear, do you have any power?"
Between pants of fatigue, it makes you sound like a very randy husband.
Fortunately, she did not answer, "No dear, not tonight. I no strength liao and I want to go back to sleep." Although she did think it.
14. That according to MP Lim Boon Heng, the Government is working to keep cost of living down.
That is a relief. After the increase of GST to 5%, increase in property tax, increase in wage cuts, increase in utilities, and increase in general joblessness, it is good to know we won't be seeing any increases soon.
it is good to know that the Government is helping us keep down whatever has not yet increased.
15. That i was going to say something about Gold Taps and charitable organisations, but I did not want to get sued with the money I donate every month.
16. That according to Singapore Power, the Nicoll Highway collapse interrupted the electricity supply to the Marina Centre area, affecting the Esplanade, Suntec City and Marina Square areas.
And according to them, power was restored about 20 minutes later. But of course.
According to people who were actually working at Suntec, however, this was "complete nonsense", because power took ages to restore.
Now now, I am sure that power was restored in record time, in typical Singapore super-efficient manner. It was all in your mind. Repeat after me, 20 minutes, 20 minutes...
17. That Singaporeans are quick to avoid Circle Line construction areas after the collapse. Roads like the usually jammed Paya Lebar (where Circle Line work is being done too) suddenly became ghost towns the morning after.
18. That whichever authority or reporter who wrote that traffic went back to normal within days after the Nicoll Collapse is either smoking something nasty or knows of a secret road into town that I am not aware of.
19. That at the local Ikea was the sign "FAKTUM - ALL PARTS".
Spare no part. Faktum all (allen key included).
20. That no political careers or Governments were hurt in the filming of the Collapse of the highway. Or the one at the construction site.
21. That a phone dealer at Lucky Plaza actually tried to sell my Angmoh colleague a mobile phone with an added "Handphone Tax" of $45.
What did the phone dealer think my friend was? An Angmoh?
22. That the definition of Tripartism is not "the Government and Employers ganging up to squeeze helpless employees". It is "a partnership of trust built up among workers, bosses and the Government".
23. That putting a Minister in the position of the country's head of Unions is not conflict of interest. It is ensuring win-win harmonious industrial relations.
24. That my kid is not a naughty rebellious sociopath that deserves a caning, but a misunderstood creative and intelligent child who just happens to be a bit boisterous.
25. That you can punish sociopaths in prison but you cannot discipline the sociopaths in school without losing your teaching job.
26. That many countries in the world dislike the US. I wonder why, their soldiers are sent in to liberate countries like Iraq, and after freeing their oppressed people, proceed to socialise with the locals by peeing on them and making them pose in sexual positions.

hahaha. VJ has an advertisement in the newspapers about our integrated programme. now the whole singapore will know how serene's(jane's friend!) face looks like.
haven't gotten back any papers 'cos the teachers just got the papers today.
mr chan was quite amusing today. we had ct session before maths tutorial and lynette was like telling mr chan about how we've gotta finish 4 tutorials by today 'cos mr ho's gonna check that we've done all 4 tutorials:P so mr chan, being extra nice, was encouraging us to do maths during the ct session while he goes around distributing some stuff and stating some announcements. haha.
when mr ho came, mr chan commented 'haha. be prepared to meet your death':P and just before he went out of the class, he added 'i feel for you'...which caused all of us to burst out laughing.
not commenting about maths.
bio lecture was one with surprisingly restless students and sniggers here and there. we're touching on the last option topic of sexual reproduction in humans and certain comments given by our dear lecturer caused the whole lecture to burst out laughing as well.
chem tutorial. went for chem tutorial with steph 'cos i wanted to follow serene to get back the pw file after that. forgot to get the pw file from serene from the choir room in the end. hehe:) thongkheng and hanjie had to sit outside the classroom to do their chem common test and it was quite an amusing sight when you see pple going out at certain times to check if they can hear us or see the white board and all that. miss wong was in a good mood.
break came and went.
bio tutorial was one that took on a more serious note than former bio tutorials. but bio tutorials are always good to attend 'cos mrs teo will often allow us to try out the answers and show us why it might not be correct and all that.
no comments about econs lecture too.
now that school has started, it felt like it has never stopped before. realised that prelims start on the 23rd of august with GP being the first paper and bio practical being the next (for me). the real prelims are from the 13-24th of september, right after the september holidays.
might as well. i've caught onto the rhythm of doing things. let me continue.

result of euros finals was really disappointing. greece winning is so...:| due to a distorted body clock, my system of emotions is feeling a bit warped. i feel neutral. i feel like a news broadcaster.
had taekwondo grading early in the morning yesterday. supposed to meet the rest of the people at 7am at toa payoh interchange but woke up at 7 and decided to meet them at the indoor stadium itself...turned out that i reach there the same time (if not earlier than some) as the rest of them.
grading was quite disastrous. i forgot my pattern (which i guess was quite a feat 'cos we've done that pattern lots and lots of times for the competition)but thankfully the judge never noticed. then for sparring, i had to spar with this malay (or izzit indian?) girl whom i dunno and they took off my specs! gosh. without my specs i could hardly see anything. everything (including the girl) was a blur. the first kick i kicked when sparring started caused me to fall flat onto the floor:P ah well. had a nice time sparring though..'cos the girl kept hitting my back, and i kicked her front lots of time. haha. considering that it's the first time any of us had actually had contact sparring..i'd say we did quite okaily.
then went around walking in the central with jits and luxi 'cos jits and i decided that we'll go meet isobel without going home first. loitered for two hours around talking and looking for stuff.
then we went to meet iso in bishan to watch harry potter:D hehee. so nice to see her after some time. according to jits, she seems to have grown taller, most prob due to the fact that she has stopped slouching. harry potter was great. story was quite nicely woven together but it's really a pity that they didn't elaborate on who the marauders are and talk about the close relationship between the four of them, which might explain more of why prof lupin knew about the map and why sirius was harry's godfather instead of anyone else. ah well:)
then we walked around a little and settled at mph. felt really sleepy due to the lack of sleep in the morning and thus went home first. didn't sleep upon reaching home 'cos initially was supposed to meet sk and cs at kembangan cc to discuss cg in the kembangan cc. ah well. in the end, tt was cancelled.
yeah. met the rest of the pple at a later time in the night:) there was (in order of arrival time) jits, me, jiali, sengkim, kelvin, jasmine and her four tpjc friends (charlie, edwin, jeff and daniel ... eh. at least i think it's daniel. can't remember the name) and of course gwen(since it was gwen's house we went to:D). jas' brother joined us later.
heh. jiali cut her hair and the first word that came into mind after she told us that and after looking more closely at her hairstyle was that it reminded me of isobel. hahaa. ah well. she can spike her hair now:)
haha. spent the first part of the night playing cards and mahjong. it ended up that the four vj pple (jiali, kelvin, jits and me) were in one room playing mahjong. hahaa. quite interesting actually. we got tired of playing mahjong near the starting of euro finals and decided to use the mahjong tiles to construct structures (eg. bridge, tower, shape, town) and get gwen to guess them. hhaa. it was actually pretty interesting 'cos yah, it's true that all of us do construct them in a certain way, though kelvin was careful to change his style a little. but jiali guessed correctly that all his structures had a firm foundation:)
then euro finals! gosh. by that time pple got a little stoned... not going to comment further on the game.
heh. thought i was going to sleep immediately after the game but instead played more mahjong with jasmine, charlie and jeff. gosh. ended up snuggling into the bed at 6.48am++
woke up at 12+ and saw that jiali had already woken up. felt quite bad sleeping till the afternoon. though seriously speaking, gwen's room is nice and cosy to sleep in and it felt as though it's 8 in the morning instead of 12+ already.
we watched lion king 2 in the afternoon after everyone has woken up. heh:) still felt quite sleepy though. heheheh:D
-who can i lean on? who can i love?
who can i count on - forever?
only You Lord only You
only You, are truly eternal-

haha. spent the first part of the night playing cards and mahjong. it ended up that the four vj pple (jiali, kelvin, jits and me) were in one room playing mahjong. hahaa. quite interesting actually. we got tired of playing mahjong near the starting of euro finals and decided to use the mahjong tiles to construct structures (eg. bridge, tower, shape, town) and get gwen to guess them. hhaa. it was actually pretty interesting 'cos yah, it's true that all of us do construct them in a certain way, though kelvin was careful to change his style a little. but jiali guessed correctly that all his structures had a firm foundation:)
then euro finals! gosh. by that time pple got a little stoned... not going to comment further on the game.
heh. thought i was going to sleep immediately after the game but instead played more mahjong with jasmine, charlie and jeff. gosh. ended up snuggling into the bed at 6.48am++
woke up at 12+ and saw that jiali had already woken up. felt quite bad sleeping till the afternoon. though seriously speaking, gwen's room is nice and cosy to sleep in and it felt as though it's 8 in the morning instead of 12+ already.
we watched lion king 2 in the afternoon after everyone has woken up. heh:) still felt quite sleepy though. heheheh:D

everything strange is happening at the same time. i'm quite befuddled about the things that's happening and all i can do is to pray to God for help.
rather. i dun comprehend why everything is being there all of a sudden tonight.
-i hold on to Your promise and Your resurrection power
restore to me Your joy
i will praise You now-

this song is stuck in my mind. been singing it since afternoon. hahahaa:D
-waves of mercy, waves of grace
everywhere i go, i see Your face
Your love has captured me,
O my God, this love, how can it be-
before i continue anything, joyce (tan) is coming back to singapore for a little while from vancouver, canada. i'm announcing on my blog 'cos apparently i'm the only one who knows she's coming back:P and i figured i'll share this good news with everyone. hahaha. think nina's like the only one who knows her and reads my blog:P) and she's going to spurt out blood 'cos i didn't know that vancouver's in british columbia, which is called BC for short.
wellus:D
hahah. had taekwondo training at toa payoh sports hall today...spent like 15 mins waiting with sean for anyone else to appear 'cos no one seemed to be there but us. thankfully jits came, then lots more pple came as well. training was really informal...only me and huixian and jits practiced our pattern (we're still in timing! gosh!) and our kicks (sidekick followed by backthrust) while everyone else sat around in a circle and ate pineapple tarts brought by vanessa:|
hahaha. they sat around for an hour plus till me n jits had to go. so funny:D
service was quite interesting. hahaha:D euro world cup kept being mentioned:D
actually the 'best of the best' thing got me thinking... was just sharing with twin that i think if we're to award the 'best of the best' thing, there're really too many pple that i can think of. and two pple that particularly really struck my mind was jt and hc.
really. i think it's 'cos these two pple impacted my life first. travelling from west to east for every cg, shepherding, sowing, evaxing... had the sudden inspiration to affirm huichun for her faithful spirit in taking care of the cg last time and for shepherding jitsy even when it's cross-service.
the power of how Jesus can touch pple's hearts and change pple's lives...and in turn just continue to touch more and more lives. the characteristics of Jesus shown forth in pple all around me (in my cg members, in my shepherd, in my sheep, in my twin, my brothers and sisters.) so many things i can learn from them, so many things i can learn from Jesus.
so many thoughts that really raced through my heart today. so many things i wish i can express, but words can't show anything. i want to convict them in my heart. to truly etch it upon my heart and soul. to do it. i want to start everything going.
-i stand here before You in wide opened wonder amazed
at the glory of You-
i should go and sleep. it's 2.12am and there's grading tmr:)
oh yes. JITSY CUT HER HAIR:D
hahaha:D

'i can't churn out poems like a poem-popping machine
nor do i spout out words which baffle and astonish
it's not of my delight to link statements all together
and try as i might, being oblique's more my manner'
(to be continued. if there's a continuation to it)
gosh. i'm falling asleep in front of the computer. two nights of hastening changing the body clock did not quite work and they're taking a toll on my eyes:D
how intriguing.
there's taekwondo training tmr and huixian just got to know about it:| and grading's on sunday! and we dunno the kicks at all. hahaha:D
ahhhhhhhhhhh. forgot to mention. HOW CAN GREECE WIN CZECH? it's like the most unpredicted match of the whole season. gosh. finals will be a little odd.
wait. wasn't portugal vs greece the first match of the Euros?:| hmmmm....

wanted to download a really good programme for creating, editting and doing effects on images called Gimp but there're simply too many instructions for me to do before i can get the whole programme. need to download and install mirrors and assemble the whole thing myself. i think i'll go figure it out one day when i'm more free:P

oooof. i'm hungry. very hungry:D
econs paper was a killer, so pretty, so beautiful, words so wonderfully worded together, the questions in particular were sharp and deadly weapons which aim straight for your brains and heart:P
hahaha:D not really affected by it. goodness knows why. i guess it's 'cos the whole class was also moaning and bemoaning about their fate after the econs paper. the first words that came out of some people's mouths were 'i'm going to die!'. the first words that came out of my mouth was 'i'm freezing to death!'
it was, i would say, the most dreadful paper i have ever done.
but it's okay:D it's only a common test. thank God.
and what greets me tomorrow is my favourite subject. hahaha:D
not forgetting that it's the last day of common tests!
but actually that's not what excites me. strangely enough, i'm looking forward to the start of school so that everything will fall into a steady motion once again. i looking forward to the continual of time.
in a strangely animated mood right now. quite delightful, quite intriguing to me. i think it's 'cos of the long talk i had with God last night.
-Jesus is my rock and He rocks my blues away-
ohohoh! i just remembered something. was observing on the bus how whenever two pple on the bus were having a conversation on their hps at the same time, it seems as though they're talking to each other. and there was once on 238 when i observed two middle-aged guys really talking to each other on the phone 'cos what they say answers each other's questions. they didn't realise it! hahaha. 'cos one was in front and the other at the back. so amusing:D
