Starry starry night - Vincent Van Gogh

The original song --- 'Vincent', was a true love song written by Don Mclean as an expression that Van Gogh's life was something the world was not able to accept and thus left him in solitude.

JESUS (sung to the tune of 'Vincent' by Don Mclean')

Starry, starry night,
Shepherds, kings, and a drummer boy,
Your angels singing praise and glory,
The world receives her Savior in this Child.

And when You were a man,
You told us of the Father's love,
Sweet mercy for us from above,
You calmed the sea and fed us holy bread.

But we did not understand,
What You tried to say to us,
That a king must die and rise again,
For His kingdom was at hand.
We were not listening, we could not believe,
We were so deceived.

Starry, starry night,
So blind was I in dark of sin,
I followed each and every whim,
I could not see Your light, Your love, Your hope.

But You were always there,
You held my hand, caressed my hair,
Oh Lord, how did I miss You there,
So long I wandered ignoring all Your love.

I did not understand,
What You tried to say to me,
How You suffered for humanity,
And how You died to set us free.

I was not listening, I did not know how,
But Lord, I'm listening now.

No I did not love You,
But still You love for me was true.

And in my starry, starry night,
When no hope was left in sight,
You gave You life as only Love could do,
And through Your resurrection, Jesus,
The gates of heaven opened,
That we may one day be with You
