NEW YORK (UPI) -- The driver and passenger of a New York cab were amazed after the vehicle flipped over an overpass rail and landed perfectly upright 30 feet below.

Passenger Daniel Kocis told New York Newsday that higher forces must have helped the cab land on its tires Saturday after plummeting off of the Veterans Memorial Highway.

"God loved us today," he said. "It could have landed the other way."

Despite having done a 360-degree spin after hitting a patch of ice and flipping over the guardrail, both Kocis and driver Victor Frank suffered only minor injuries.

Kocis said that while he recognizes why the accident occurred and the miracle that he enjoyed on Saturday, there was an underlying moral to the incident.

"It was man's doing, the random error, and God fixing it for us," he told Newsday. "When they say the bridge freezes over before the road, you better believe it."
