yesterday was centrestage semifinals and centrestage semi finals was cool! hahahaha:D
gosh. saw the contestants in a different light after the competition...each of them have their own style and some even looked like they owned the stage. lolita, especially, was very confident:)
gwen was the first one to sing and we cheered and cheered for her. hahaha. then sengkim ran down to pass her the rose tt we bought and it was an interesting sight.
the central pple are so farnie! when eesiew was singing, a whole bunch of the sisters just went to the front of the stage to pass her flowers, presents...bears. hahaha:D she looked like a star giving a concert with all the presents at hand. priscilla (who was emceeing...she's funny too! hahaha. she made a joke about how we shouldn't forget to buy flowers for her next week) had to help eesiew carry her stuff.
and gosh. gerald's song was... whoa. hahaha. 'cos his voice texture suited those for singing slow songs...and he sang a slow song by westlife and with his voice it can make pple swoon.
hahaha:D
really was a starlit afternoon:D
anyway, four pple got into the finals (which is next week!!!:D:D:D) they are gwen, sharlene, nel and gerald.
tough competition. hahahaha:D
pastor taught a teaching about music and i remember a fact he told us.
he said that the most number of songs were written about Jesus...and the second topic that's most written about lacks really far far behind. and that why this is so is 'cos music comes from the heart.
songs are written to express how the heart feels.
and i think it really is true:D
went for chocolate exchange after that!:D hahaha. except for the occasional insect bites that were irritating, everything went really well:D we cooked and ate and cooked and ate at first, then started to sing songs ('cos there's a guitar) and melted cadbury chocolate with strawberries and bananas really rock!:D we also played mafia. hahaha:D poor huiwen kept getting killed in the first round..and she was so frustrated after tt. hahahaa:D we played soccer too!
then a whole bunch of us hitchhiked onto huiying's third aunt's lorry for a ride home. there was me, debbie, jitsy, rachel, jean, freedy, eugene (izzit? can't really recall his name..hehe:D), eelee, nicholas, huiwen and sengkim. hahaha. all at the back of the lorry telling lame jokes and playing the number game. and doing forfeits:D
hahha. great time of bonding and fellowship.
went to study at emerald bk today.. there was lincoln, rachel, jean, xinyi and joanna (in order of arrival). chicken whopper meal lasted for 4 hours which was really surprising. hahaa:D sengkim blessed me in the morn with breakfast when i passed him his stats forms and in turn the breakfast blessed twin. thought it was interesting:D hahaha. realised tt we're blessed in vj with our bio teachers 'cos cj's doing the same option topics as us and their notes are quite disastrous, while our 'growth, development and reproduction' tb with extra notes (loads of them) are quite sufficient for us to do almost every qn. hahaha:D
quite a fruitful time...we did work continuously from 12++ to 9pm. speed of work varies though. hahaha. saw rachel (fong) and 2 yhope sisters i can't remember the name of... saw patricia (the person whom jits was attached to for multimedia), saw huichun and marcus and the nus west unit pple... hahaa.
interesting 2 days:)
touch is the essential element to keeping a relationship vibrant and alive, communication is the other:)

got reminded of the msgs i received yesterday just now...
frankly speaking, i dunno whether to be glad or to cry.
hahha.
glad 'cos she's clarifying her doubts and everything, rather than cause them to grow roots in her heart.
cry. hahaha. 'cos i dunno why we're still revolving around the same topic tt's been beaten so many times. 'cos she's not growing much.
because.
-yet will i praise thee
lift my hands to You
yet will i praise thee
i will bow before the King and praise thee-
guan's nick is quite nice
'tell me how many beads there are in a silver chain of evening rain'

Lord of creation
where does my help come from
it cometh from the Lord
the author of love and courage and strength
He's where my help comes from
who gives me peace within
peace like the still waters
the Father of heaven and all universe
He gives me peace within
Lord of creation, all sing Your praise
the beautiful name of Jesus proclaimed
no one, no other, You are my all
take me and lead me to serve Your call
You are the answer to life's mystery
You are the reason i came to be
now with Your peace and annointing on me
Father i offer my life unto thee

i'm amazed. hahaha. since when did blogger have this nice thing about changing colour and font and what-nots? ah well... nevermind about it:) i hope this post doesn't turn out as black or something:P
yeah well.
had an unusual day today.
first and foremost, i woke up late today! gosh. i remember having this dream about going for another camp and i remembered the whole process of going to camp, what we did in camp and was actually on my way home, going up an escalator, when weezi called me. hahaha. can u imagine how appalled i was when i woke up and realise that no, i wasn't in camp or anything but was actually late for school with the sky already beginning to lighten.
how disastrous.
hahaha:D
yeah well:) went to school and couldn't find where gp lesson was ('cos gp lesson always change venues)... smsed tk who never replied, called steph who never answered, called lydia and she was on her way to school. and by the time i finished calling, it was 9.25am. 5 mins late for gp. ah well...so i sat -all by myself- (hahaha! the one-line song!) in the concourse when david miraculously appeared next to me and started returning me my pen and what-nots. there. God sent company:)
the rest of the day went as per-normal:)
made the decision to join jits and weez and jane to go back to nanyang 'cos they were going to consult miss lee about universities and what-nots. detoured to cine to eat lunch and the song of 'i am cow' surfaced once more 'cos jane wanted to know the lyrics. formed a song on the way from cine to ny 'cos somehow or another the topic changed from cows to sheep, then to goats. yeah. i forgot the tune. but the original lyrics go like this. hahaha:D
-there was once a little goat,
sitting on a little boat
sailing down a little stream
floating into a summer dream
then the little goat got off
after which, he gave a cough
nibbled on a farmer's button
and then was chopped up into mutton-
jitsy liked the first stanza, but didn't quite appreciate the second. i explained that there must be an ending to the song but *sniff* got a response that wasn't quite positive. hahaha:D
so i changed the second stanza to:
-then the little goat got lost
but fear for him? we sure do not
he found his way and then went on
sailing down to the far beyond-
i'm quite proud of my song. hahaha. the tune rather. just tt now i've forgotten the song, the lyrics dun make much sense. *grInz*
nanyang remained the same. felt as though we've never left it. hahaha. miss lee was no longer at her desk, mrs yong was on leave, mrs pang has gone to teach in ACS(I) and the three of them were going to the toilet when i peeked over the third storey stair railings and saw miss choo! hahaa.
went to the second storey to look for laoshi, but saw chen laoshi instead. ah well... apparently, laoshi's on a course. how coincidental.
so we talked a little to chen laoshi...and then we talked a whole bunch of lots of schooling stuff with miss choo. hehehe. the teachers looked really tired 'cos now ny's running three parallel education things... the integrated programme, gep and mainstream.
then we went to the library... hahaha:D one thing i like better in ny than vj is the library! our nice three-storey high library with computers, lots of books, lots of tables, lots of space, a student lounge (which isn't really a lounge 'cos it only have one super comfortable sofa and lots of scholarship magazines staring at you) and a comics and games corner!
the librarian was nice enough to let us go in. hehe:D
then went to hc to look for qing. hahaha. wanted to look for isobel too but her extra lessons end at 6.45pm!: gosh.
hahaha. nice seeing qing and her friends. didn't stay long though. the student lounge in hc was closing.
went down to eunos after that:) and tt's tt:)
93 takes a super fast time to reach toa payoh. took 20 mins to reach toa payoh from eunos. i'm amazed:D

i think it's quite troublesome when you roughly know who reads your blog and who doesn't. and there's no function in blogger which gives you a private entry...and typing does help to clear up my thoughts faster than writing in my diary 'cos by the time i finish writing, the thoughts would have disappeared and poofed into smoke, dispersed by the wind, never to be seen again.
thank God for God who's always with me and who's only a prayer away that i can talk to Him about anything and everything and my burdens and disappointments, my joy and my delight.
sometimes it feels as though all i wanna do is to pray.
i miss my shepherd. heh.
wonder how she is...
gwenie's one of the semi-finalists for centrestage and we made a very nice sign to cheer her on. hahaha:D
except that no one other than my dear adorable brothers and sisters are coming to see it.
hear me sigh.

mr mark li wasn't here today so i'm having this 3 and a half hrs break before maths r. lydia and steph are beside me looking for pictures of hideaki takizawa...
i dunno what to say. hahaha:D playing backgammon in the comp lab right now. didn't quite expect so much free time.
nygep gathering on the 30th of july, friday, in the evening...would u all prefer to have a bbq (which will save me lots and lots and lots of trouble. hahah:D) at east coast? or would you all like to once more go for the steamboat buffet at marina bay?:D we can play games at the table. hahaha. and do something else.
'meshed in by the enclosure of restraints,
invisible barriers set by eyes unseen,
a fault, stopping the transition of thoughts into words
i see, i hear, i feel.
i do not speak'

mum threw up a total fuss upon passing me a letter from the health sciences authority with reference to the blood donation made about a month ago. now she and dad are in the living room murmuring about how a lack of blood will cause ur veins to dunno-do-wat and what-nots:D
and fungi's competing in the canoeing nationals on the 28th, 29th and 30th at kallang. hahaha. can go and support her. qing echos the same sentiments...she can't express it on her blog though...'cos her friends from hc canoeing will slaughter her:D
i kept receiving emails sent by sms.ac 'cos of friends inviting me to try out for the free sms by email thing...hehe. i've tried signing up a few times but i always seem to incur an error.
this organiser is having a headache trying to think of what everyone can do:P
now this organiser is having a headache trying to plan everything out. hahahaa.
money matters here and there.
hmmm. the organiser has an idea. from last time gatherings...hmmm...
the student realises that night is short and time is running out. the student is going off soon.
this child of God wishes to talk to Him very much as well. goodnight everyone:)

I am the number 1 I am the loneliest number _ |
this quiz by orsa
awwwww. so sad:P
anyway, i've realised that to reduce the temptation the computer poses, one just have to stick a piece of paper with the words 'be FAITHFUL!' on it on the computer screen. strangely enough, it causes my appetite to go online to be greatly reduced, until i find it bothersome to even turn on the computer...
maybe i should paste a piece of paper on the tv as well. hahaha:D
we've got our prelim timetables. hahaha:D how thrilling:D
was out in the evening buying stuff for yingcui as my handing-down present when i saw jieyun again. hahaha.
had quite a relaxing day today... rather amused when i heard lynette and mr mark li talking in the same way (one due to her wisdom teeth being plucked out, the other 'cos of an ulcer). the lectures passed by...as lectures do. got released 15 mins earlier from econs lect (yeah! my eyes were dying to keep themselves up)'cos the lecturer finished earlier than expected.
...
hahaha! got this website off fungi's blog... hhahaa. i nearly died laughing looking at it too:P
disgusting guy.
according to fungi,
'apparently it's the website of the weird eyebrow plucking guy who roams around outside tangs, pouncing from behind corners to accost unwitting victims'
whatever.
...
distracted distracted. bio prac today was surprisingly relaxing. we looked at milk curdle and milk solids wobble and the sink gargling it all up.
libing suggested to me that tofu could be made in that way, and said that they could have given use huang2 dou4 nai3. as a lover of tofu,i object!
can u imagine? tofu made by curdling dou4 nai3? so disgusting. i'll never be able to eat tofu properly again:|
eeeewwwwwwwwwww.
hahaha:D

hahahaa. was about to blog about studying but something else came which was more important. hahaha:D
please pray for Project Acts! hahaha. okayokay. i know this has nothing much to do with us right now..but still pray for it lahz. hahha:D it's similar to Y-Acts and gosh. 100 partipants this time round in contrast to last yr's... eh. 20+? hahaha:D
pray for smu too:) heheh.
and vj:D
so interesting. was just talking to jieyun after studying today 'cos me, twin and lincoln saw her outside emerald and we talked a little on the train about everyone else (catching up and all) and then she was asking me if i still kept in touch with junting and i was like 'heh. not really..only on msn' hahaha. and now i'm talking to junting on msn again:)
anyway. studied today (or rather, did tutorials:P) with lincoln, jitsy and twin (in order of arrival):D hehe. was nearly frozen to death in bk and had to walk around to thaw a few times:)

-He is worthy of our praises
so we lift our voices high
Spirit come,
fill this place-
there was a song in prayer meet today which put into words what i wanted to tell God but was unable to express through human words..
forgot what the song title is though. heh:D
felt tt service spoke to me today:) hehe. i've never thought that i'll ever reach the day when i'll say that i need to be more joyful in all circumstances.
quite interesting:)
gosh. i'm falling asleep.
went for the tsd public performance with jiali, gwen and jits. actually it was originally jiali and gwen, then i decided to go and jits got coerced into going:)
quite nice though:D hahaha. some pieces could have been made much better if there's a change of materials used, or improvements in the side characters...but nevertheless, an enjoyable time of theatrical works:D oh. mr gary tang was there too. hahahaa.

today is quite an interesting day:)
had shepherding in the morning in the concourse at one of those cafe tables (the round shiny type..accompanied with cold shiny chairs):D hehe.
then had gp.. sat beside libing and patricia and patricia lost her $50 and libing was happily chatting away to me and huiling so i was stuck between two different worlds of emotions.
thankfully pat found her $50...kenneth picked it up and replied 'yes boss!' when pat asked him about it:P
it's quite amusing to have like 5-7 pple gathering around 1 small shiny cafe table. hahaha:D but tt's what happened during break... the guys at 1 table, the girls at the other.
fell asleep during maths lect. heh. guess 4 hours of sleep ain't enough for me.
bio and chem tutorial went past quite smoothly. then got back maths paper. aiyah. dun talk abt it. away i go into maths r again. hahaha:D
i take heart that the former soccer captain had 4 rememdials until As...when he got 4As. yes.
went with huiling, jacqueline and libing to siglap to eat the famous yong tau foo...hahaha:D haven't gone out with libing and huiling before but the company and food was good so everything went quite well. lots of laughter too:)
then libing and i had to take 155 out to VS and then change to another bus ...for me to go to sch and for her to go home:)
was quite amused on the way to sch 'cos i saw zara's j1 fren, saw priya, saw corinne's classmate, saw munbbill, saw jiali:)
was actually wondering if i should meet cs later 'cos of the stepping down ceremony but then i didn't want to change the meeting time 'cos it's quite impt..so didn't go for stepping down ceremony in the end. poor yingcui. she must be wondering where i am. haha.
went to the library and saw dancing! hahaha. quite funny. used her card to borrow 'the dark tower - wizard and glass' by stephen king. well, if it's nice, i'll recommend. expletives inside though:P i dislike them A LOT. oh! but the cover is nice! and it's a nice 800+ pages book. pretty.
then met cs:) walked with her to siglap:) hahaha...i have an affinity for siglap today. settled at kfc which was nice and deserted and ... well. nice. hahaha.
had a good time just talking and turning out stuff. quite an amusing time too. can't remember why..just remembered tt we kept laughing in kfc:)
oh! the auntie was so nice! she gave us a discount. hhahaa. actually she heard wrongly and i think she doesn't know how to change the value..so yah. she just gave us a discount:D hahah.
then we walked to her house. realised tt it's pretty near to gwen's. 20-30mins walk?:)
oh yah! before i forgot. i've got something lame to share:D thought of it in the afternoon.
u know vj has the VIP thing right? (victoria integrated programme)...then pple who enter it will be called the VIPers... and when they greet the teacher, they can go 'good afternoon ssssssssss-ir!'
well. not funny. i know.
whatever:D *grInz*

"Hope deferred makes the heart sick; but when dreams come true at last, there is life and joy" (Proverbs 13:12, TLB).
"These boys won't make it. Go back to Liverpool, Mr. Epstein, you have a good business there." This is what a recording company executive told the Beatle's manager at their first audition!
"That kid can't play baseball. He can't pull the ball," is what the manager of the Brave's Tripple A team said about Hank Aaron in 1952. Aaron went on to hit 755 home runs, breaking all previous records.
Remember, no matter what the critics say, in God's economy, everybody has a purpose and everybody has something of value to offer. Never give up until you know what your talent is; then sharpen it, dedicate it to God, and give it all you've got. Take courage. Nothing you do for God will ever be in vain. Remember, too, that one of the greatest ways we can serve God is by helping others--and every one of us can do that every day.
Also, as long as what you are choosing to do is in harmony with God's will, then dream big dreams, work hard, trust God and in time you will reap what you sow and be richly rewarded. Know your God-given dreams and keep hope alive no matter what the setbacks and never ever give up

Know your God-given dreams and keep hope alive no matter what the setbacks and never ever give up

came back from cg and buying stuff with mum:) cg was nice:D it's always good to see the brothers and sisters:) the buncha pple whom i live out my life with:)
-O feel my Saviour Jesus' pain
as he lies on the cross
O feel my Saviour Jesus' pain
the sky murmurs with rain
how wonderful His death is done
what sins He's washed away
He suffered to see payment done
for us - a bright new day-

koped this from qing's blog. thought it's quite interesting. a 4/13 refuge!
'visualise a bright sunny morning, a deep blue sky dotted with white fluffy clouds
the scene shows a person jumping into the crystal blue water, enclosed by a huge expanse of pearly white sand..next the camera will sweep across the beach and show a group of girls immersed in a hot spring pool, boy do they look relaxed..
then a bright pink billboard is seen in the distance..as the camera zooms in, the words become much much clearer:
FOUR-THIRTEEN INC
heh dunno why this just came into my mind, cos it's like everytime i'm not feeling that happy or what..meeting up with this bunch of friends always make me feel better..so it's like 4/13 INC.. haha a place for you to revigorate yourself and make you refreshed for the rest of the demanding school term.'
hehehe:D can't really call it 4/13 inc...i think fungi and jitsy would slaughter us quite happily.
here's a message to all nygeppers (especially those who dun check their email...the following is an exact copy of what i've sent out in the yahoogroups)
hey everyone! let's have an outing! hahaha. before everyone starts to mug for their prelims and what-nots and lock themselves in the house and refuse to come out. please reply fast and spread the message around 'cos we want to have it in june...most likely on the 17th to the 31st of july:D
speaking of which, before i continue, Yhope is holding the semifinals for CENTRESTAGE and it's guaranteed to be a cool time of songs and dance:D so anyone who wants to come to watch centrestage semifinals on the 17th from 2-4pm in somerset, can contact me:D
yeah anyway. give me a suggestion about when u all want it, what you all want to do, weekday or weekend, when you're not free... and i'll help to coordinate everything, okay?:)
i was thinking we can go and eat some buffet (inform early so that everyone will have enough time to save up) since it's been some time we've talked and a long talk is just what we need to catch up and to console each other about the results and what-nots---or not to think about it, and to get rid of any cynicisms, jadedness or disappointments through the conversations 'cos afterall, we're with each other, and that's all that'll matter for the time we see each other:D)...
maybe we can have a little bit of programme too. hehe. let's make this a major one before the prelims. can some other pple be nice and help me with the programme too?:D:D
watever it is, REPLY ASAP (if possible, by the 11th of july) and spread the word around! thanks!:D
xinying:D
yeah well. u got the word. now go and spread it around.

how disastrous.
my hotmail junkmail filter is turned on without my knowledge. no wonder i didn't receive so many mails... gosh.
how disastrous.
John 14:27 -'peace i leave with you; my peace i give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid'
many a times when we have things piling up in our lives, these things actually seemed to form a barrier between us and the free, blue sky. And if we're covered by this barrier long enough, we'll gradually forget that there is this sky above us, and choose to just cower and mourn under the barrier, groaning and complaining about the fact that we are under a lot of pressure.
we need to remember that we just have to choose to stand up and push aside these things that form the barrier, and we'll see the sky again. the first step starts from us.
as the prelims approach, let is not be bothered about how fast it is going to reach us, nor be afraid of whether we have enough time to study or not, but to actually just take the first step into getting into the momentum of studying, of running this study race until the end of the year.
instead of just cowering at the starting line and thinking you do not have the energy to finish running the race. if you do not try, you will not know.
...
as i start this study race and even continue running a longer race ahead, i am really thankful that God has given His Holy Spirit to us. my comforter and counsellor, i truly need Him with me these days.

Part 99

Weeks of 7 April 2004 to 2 May 2004
(Feel free to distribute for non-profit and non-commercial purposes but keep my byline, email address and URL intact please. Thanks)
I have also learned lately:
1. That the worst time to get bad publicity over things like your $189 million in reserves, your controversial $5 million, um, tie-up with an insurance company for them cross-sell to your donors, and the revelation that only 52 cents out of every dollar raised in 2002 went towards your foundation's beneficiaries, is right before your big annual charity show.
2. That it is not a good idea to try to brush your teeth while shaving in order to save some time.
3. That one day, science will be able to come up with an explanation for the actual difference between a Permanent Resident and a Citizen of Singapore.
4. That it is called Fabric of the Nation, not Fabrication of the Nation.
5. That Singapore citizenship is so fantastic, that out of 290,000 eligible PR, only 7000 of them are willing to take up Singapore citizenship every year.
6. That at last count, 19 women and 2 men have claimed to have slept with Beckham in Singapore, 8 taxi drivers have claimed that they drove him to Geylang, and 2 teens have claimed to have sold him condoms at their branch of Seven-Eleven.
7. That for my next career, I would like to be a professional Charity Show stunt celebrity. I will be available for hire to all charity and quasi-charity organisations for doing donation-drawing stunts like walking on samurai swords, juggling durians, and having blow darts shot at my nether regions.
I will only take a 30 percent cut of the takings that happen during my segment. And a 10% admin fee.
I am currently in training (working on the durian juggling bit), and should have my diploma in Professional Charity Fund Raising soon. These days, charity work is not seen as a third tier career, ok?
8. That a huge part of Singapore gets a blackout and power failure at 11.30pm on the 13th of April and citizens were left fumbling in the dark, with hardly any news and no warnings on the radio and TV.
For one hour, there was a surreal experience of driving through a pitch black Choa Chu Kang estate, with no street lights and traffic lights, and Singapore drivers suddenly developed polite driving habits, slowing down at traffic junctions and giving way to other cars.
Better to be cautious and polite than dead from a car accident, I always say.
9. That taking a shower by candlelight is also a surreal experience. At least if you missed a spot, no one is going to notice in the dark.
10. That as Singaporeans tried to find out more about the blackout, many must have wondered whether the following potentially unsuccessful blackout warning strategies had been tried:
-using the EMAS electronic expressway signboards to warn motorists to drive carefully because there are no working lights or traffic signals, or EMAS signboards for that matter.
-posting signs in lifts to tell residents not to take the lift because there is no power and you could get stuck inside
-broadcasting warnings on TV so that the affected homes will know that they should not panic, and power will be restored soon.
11. That maybe if we don't mention it in the media too much, during the blackout and the morning after, people won't notice we had a major screw up at the power stations.
And if we do mention it, we should keep stressing that power was restored within the hour. And that our two people manning the hotlines were overwhelmed by 27,000 phone calls.
Wow, one hour so fast. I am sure it was a real consolation to the fellow who was driving around in circles in Choa Chu Kang estate trying to find his way out, while dodging cars at traffic junctions that had no traffic signals. Also a real consolation to the chap stuck in the lift the whole time, or the auntie who had to climb 20 freaking floors after coming home from the late shift.
12. That soon they will be telling us that just like the flooding, there is very little they can do about the power failures.
13. That when you decide call home at 12 midnight, after dragging your fat ass up 9 floors to your friend's flat, after giving him a lift, to make a call to your wife to check on her safety (because the damn mobile network is not working on account of the power failure), make sure you do not ask ambiguous questions like "Dear, do you have any power?"
Between pants of fatigue, it makes you sound like a very randy husband.
Fortunately, she did not answer, "No dear, not tonight. I no strength liao and I want to go back to sleep." Although she did think it.
14. That according to MP Lim Boon Heng, the Government is working to keep cost of living down.
That is a relief. After the increase of GST to 5%, increase in property tax, increase in wage cuts, increase in utilities, and increase in general joblessness, it is good to know we won't be seeing any increases soon.
it is good to know that the Government is helping us keep down whatever has not yet increased.
15. That i was going to say something about Gold Taps and charitable organisations, but I did not want to get sued with the money I donate every month.
16. That according to Singapore Power, the Nicoll Highway collapse interrupted the electricity supply to the Marina Centre area, affecting the Esplanade, Suntec City and Marina Square areas.
And according to them, power was restored about 20 minutes later. But of course.
According to people who were actually working at Suntec, however, this was "complete nonsense", because power took ages to restore.
Now now, I am sure that power was restored in record time, in typical Singapore super-efficient manner. It was all in your mind. Repeat after me, 20 minutes, 20 minutes...
17. That Singaporeans are quick to avoid Circle Line construction areas after the collapse. Roads like the usually jammed Paya Lebar (where Circle Line work is being done too) suddenly became ghost towns the morning after.
18. That whichever authority or reporter who wrote that traffic went back to normal within days after the Nicoll Collapse is either smoking something nasty or knows of a secret road into town that I am not aware of.
19. That at the local Ikea was the sign "FAKTUM - ALL PARTS".
Spare no part. Faktum all (allen key included).
20. That no political careers or Governments were hurt in the filming of the Collapse of the highway. Or the one at the construction site.
21. That a phone dealer at Lucky Plaza actually tried to sell my Angmoh colleague a mobile phone with an added "Handphone Tax" of $45.
What did the phone dealer think my friend was? An Angmoh?
22. That the definition of Tripartism is not "the Government and Employers ganging up to squeeze helpless employees". It is "a partnership of trust built up among workers, bosses and the Government".
23. That putting a Minister in the position of the country's head of Unions is not conflict of interest. It is ensuring win-win harmonious industrial relations.
24. That my kid is not a naughty rebellious sociopath that deserves a caning, but a misunderstood creative and intelligent child who just happens to be a bit boisterous.
25. That you can punish sociopaths in prison but you cannot discipline the sociopaths in school without losing your teaching job.
26. That many countries in the world dislike the US. I wonder why, their soldiers are sent in to liberate countries like Iraq, and after freeing their oppressed people, proceed to socialise with the locals by peeing on them and making them pose in sexual positions.
"Photos show jail abuse by US troops

hahaha. VJ has an advertisement in the newspapers about our integrated programme. now the whole singapore will know how serene's(jane's friend!) face looks like.
haven't gotten back any papers 'cos the teachers just got the papers today.
mr chan was quite amusing today. we had ct session before maths tutorial and lynette was like telling mr chan about how we've gotta finish 4 tutorials by today 'cos mr ho's gonna check that we've done all 4 tutorials:P so mr chan, being extra nice, was encouraging us to do maths during the ct session while he goes around distributing some stuff and stating some announcements. haha.
when mr ho came, mr chan commented 'haha. be prepared to meet your death':P and just before he went out of the class, he added 'i feel for you'...which caused all of us to burst out laughing.
not commenting about maths.
bio lecture was one with surprisingly restless students and sniggers here and there. we're touching on the last option topic of sexual reproduction in humans and certain comments given by our dear lecturer caused the whole lecture to burst out laughing as well.
chem tutorial. went for chem tutorial with steph 'cos i wanted to follow serene to get back the pw file after that. forgot to get the pw file from serene from the choir room in the end. hehe:) thongkheng and hanjie had to sit outside the classroom to do their chem common test and it was quite an amusing sight when you see pple going out at certain times to check if they can hear us or see the white board and all that. miss wong was in a good mood.
break came and went.
bio tutorial was one that took on a more serious note than former bio tutorials. but bio tutorials are always good to attend 'cos mrs teo will often allow us to try out the answers and show us why it might not be correct and all that.
no comments about econs lecture too.
now that school has started, it felt like it has never stopped before. realised that prelims start on the 23rd of august with GP being the first paper and bio practical being the next (for me). the real prelims are from the 13-24th of september, right after the september holidays.
might as well. i've caught onto the rhythm of doing things. let me continue.

result of euros finals was really disappointing. greece winning is so...:| due to a distorted body clock, my system of emotions is feeling a bit warped. i feel neutral. i feel like a news broadcaster.
had taekwondo grading early in the morning yesterday. supposed to meet the rest of the people at 7am at toa payoh interchange but woke up at 7 and decided to meet them at the indoor stadium itself...turned out that i reach there the same time (if not earlier than some) as the rest of them.
grading was quite disastrous. i forgot my pattern (which i guess was quite a feat 'cos we've done that pattern lots and lots of times for the competition)but thankfully the judge never noticed. then for sparring, i had to spar with this malay (or izzit indian?) girl whom i dunno and they took off my specs! gosh. without my specs i could hardly see anything. everything (including the girl) was a blur. the first kick i kicked when sparring started caused me to fall flat onto the floor:P ah well. had a nice time sparring though..'cos the girl kept hitting my back, and i kicked her front lots of time. haha. considering that it's the first time any of us had actually had contact sparring..i'd say we did quite okaily.
then went around walking in the central with jits and luxi 'cos jits and i decided that we'll go meet isobel without going home first. loitered for two hours around talking and looking for stuff.
then we went to meet iso in bishan to watch harry potter:D hehee. so nice to see her after some time. according to jits, she seems to have grown taller, most prob due to the fact that she has stopped slouching. harry potter was great. story was quite nicely woven together but it's really a pity that they didn't elaborate on who the marauders are and talk about the close relationship between the four of them, which might explain more of why prof lupin knew about the map and why sirius was harry's godfather instead of anyone else. ah well:)
then we walked around a little and settled at mph. felt really sleepy due to the lack of sleep in the morning and thus went home first. didn't sleep upon reaching home 'cos initially was supposed to meet sk and cs at kembangan cc to discuss cg in the kembangan cc. ah well. in the end, tt was cancelled.
yeah. met the rest of the pple at a later time in the night:) there was (in order of arrival time) jits, me, jiali, sengkim, kelvin, jasmine and her four tpjc friends (charlie, edwin, jeff and daniel ... eh. at least i think it's daniel. can't remember the name) and of course gwen(since it was gwen's house we went to:D). jas' brother joined us later.
heh. jiali cut her hair and the first word that came into mind after she told us that and after looking more closely at her hairstyle was that it reminded me of isobel. hahaa. ah well. she can spike her hair now:)
haha. spent the first part of the night playing cards and mahjong. it ended up that the four vj pple (jiali, kelvin, jits and me) were in one room playing mahjong. hahaa. quite interesting actually. we got tired of playing mahjong near the starting of euro finals and decided to use the mahjong tiles to construct structures (eg. bridge, tower, shape, town) and get gwen to guess them. hhaa. it was actually pretty interesting 'cos yah, it's true that all of us do construct them in a certain way, though kelvin was careful to change his style a little. but jiali guessed correctly that all his structures had a firm foundation:)
then euro finals! gosh. by that time pple got a little stoned... not going to comment further on the game.
heh. thought i was going to sleep immediately after the game but instead played more mahjong with jasmine, charlie and jeff. gosh. ended up snuggling into the bed at 6.48am++
woke up at 12+ and saw that jiali had already woken up. felt quite bad sleeping till the afternoon. though seriously speaking, gwen's room is nice and cosy to sleep in and it felt as though it's 8 in the morning instead of 12+ already.
we watched lion king 2 in the afternoon after everyone has woken up. heh:) still felt quite sleepy though. heheheh:D

had taekwondo grading early in the morning yesterday. supposed to meet the rest of the people at 7am at toa payoh interchange but woke up at 7 and decided to meet them at the indoor stadium itself...turned out that i reach there the same time (if not earlier than some) as the rest of them.
grading was quite disastrous. i forgot my pattern (which i guess was quite a feat 'cos we've done that pattern lots and lots of times for the competition)but thankfully the judge never noticed. then for sparring, i had to spar with this malay (or izzit indian?) girl whom i dunno and they took off my specs! gosh. without my specs i could hardly see anything. everything (including the girl) was a blur. the first kick i kicked when sparring started caused me to fall flat onto the floor:P ah well. had a nice time sparring though..'cos the girl kept hitting my back, and i kicked her front lots of time. haha. considering that it's the first time any of us had actually had contact sparring..i'd say we did quite okaily.

everything strange is happening at the same time. i'm quite befuddled about the things that's happening and all i can do is to pray to God for help.
rather. i dun comprehend why everything is being there all of a sudden tonight.
-i hold on to Your promise and Your resurrection power
restore to me Your joy
i will praise You now-

this song is stuck in my mind. been singing it since afternoon. hahahaa:D
-waves of mercy, waves of grace
everywhere i go, i see Your face
Your love has captured me,
O my God, this love, how can it be-
before i continue anything, joyce (tan) is coming back to singapore for a little while from vancouver, canada. i'm announcing on my blog 'cos apparently i'm the only one who knows she's coming back:P and i figured i'll share this good news with everyone. hahaha. think nina's like the only one who knows her and reads my blog:P) and she's going to spurt out blood 'cos i didn't know that vancouver's in british columbia, which is called BC for short.
wellus:D
hahah. had taekwondo training at toa payoh sports hall today...spent like 15 mins waiting with sean for anyone else to appear 'cos no one seemed to be there but us. thankfully jits came, then lots more pple came as well. training was really informal...only me and huixian and jits practiced our pattern (we're still in timing! gosh!) and our kicks (sidekick followed by backthrust) while everyone else sat around in a circle and ate pineapple tarts brought by vanessa:|
hahaha. they sat around for an hour plus till me n jits had to go. so funny:D
service was quite interesting. hahaha:D euro world cup kept being mentioned:D
actually the 'best of the best' thing got me thinking... was just sharing with twin that i think if we're to award the 'best of the best' thing, there're really too many pple that i can think of. and two pple that particularly really struck my mind was jt and hc.
really. i think it's 'cos these two pple impacted my life first. travelling from west to east for every cg, shepherding, sowing, evaxing... had the sudden inspiration to affirm huichun for her faithful spirit in taking care of the cg last time and for shepherding jitsy even when it's cross-service.
the power of how Jesus can touch pple's hearts and change pple's lives...and in turn just continue to touch more and more lives. the characteristics of Jesus shown forth in pple all around me (in my cg members, in my shepherd, in my sheep, in my twin, my brothers and sisters.) so many things i can learn from them, so many things i can learn from Jesus.
so many thoughts that really raced through my heart today. so many things i wish i can express, but words can't show anything. i want to convict them in my heart. to truly etch it upon my heart and soul. to do it. i want to start everything going.
-i stand here before You in wide opened wonder amazed
at the glory of You-
i should go and sleep. it's 2.12am and there's grading tmr:)
oh yes. JITSY CUT HER HAIR:D

'i can't churn out poems like a poem-popping machine
nor do i spout out words which baffle and astonish
it's not of my delight to link statements all together
and try as i might, being oblique's more my manner'
(to be continued. if there's a continuation to it)
gosh. i'm falling asleep in front of the computer. two nights of hastening changing the body clock did not quite work and they're taking a toll on my eyes:D
how intriguing.
there's taekwondo training tmr and huixian just got to know about it:| and grading's on sunday! and we dunno the kicks at all. hahaha:D
ahhhhhhhhhhh. forgot to mention. HOW CAN GREECE WIN CZECH? it's like the most unpredicted match of the whole season. gosh. finals will be a little odd.
wait. wasn't portugal vs greece the first match of the Euros?:| hmmmm....

hmm. joy's tagboard has become a forum for everyone to post on. how interesting.
wanted to download a really good programme for creating, editting and doing effects on images called Gimp but there're simply too many instructions for me to do before i can get the whole programme. need to download and install mirrors and assemble the whole thing myself. i think i'll go figure it out one day when i'm more free:P

oooof. i'm hungry. very hungry:D
econs paper was a killer, so pretty, so beautiful, words so wonderfully worded together, the questions in particular were sharp and deadly weapons which aim straight for your brains and heart:P
hahaha:D not really affected by it. goodness knows why. i guess it's 'cos the whole class was also moaning and bemoaning about their fate after the econs paper. the first words that came out of some people's mouths were 'i'm going to die!'. the first words that came out of my mouth was 'i'm freezing to death!'
it was, i would say, the most dreadful paper i have ever done.
but it's okay:D it's only a common test. thank God.
and what greets me tomorrow is my favourite subject. hahaha:D
not forgetting that it's the last day of common tests!
but actually that's not what excites me. strangely enough, i'm looking forward to the start of school so that everything will fall into a steady motion once again. i looking forward to the continual of time.
in a strangely animated mood right now. quite delightful, quite intriguing to me. i think it's 'cos of the long talk i had with God last night.
-Jesus is my rock and He rocks my blues away-
ohohoh! i just remembered something. was observing on the bus how whenever two pple on the bus were having a conversation on their hps at the same time, it seems as though they're talking to each other. and there was once on 238 when i observed two middle-aged guys really talking to each other on the phone 'cos what they say answers each other's questions. they didn't realise it! hahaha. 'cos one was in front and the other at the back. so amusing:D

i still can't find my balance of payments notes:|
had the 'inspiration' to actually go on blackboard and see if the teachers are kind enough to post the papers online...but apparently, i'm not enrolled into the course for econs. instead, i have extra courses like physics, maths S paper and chemistry.
how amusing.
can't stand it. going to cook spaghetti again.
i have a feeling i'm going to become obese by the end of this year at the rate i'm eating...after the 1 and a half month of pure mugging before the As...
cooking has a calming effect:P

I did it in 18 seconds.
I deserved an A-!!
Take the How Dexterous Are You? Quiz!!
i haven't really been properly studying these two days :| started playing backgammon on the net and didn't really keep track of time. quite an easy game to play. hahaa.
it feels as if the common tests were over and holidays are coming again:|
and i've been doing and thinking about other stuff other than econs and bio. thinking about university (again:| still thinking between nus and smu. different stuff to consider:|), thinking about end of year (wow. that's fast), playing games, buying stuff to stock up at home (spaghetti, butter waffles:D), feeding the cat who periodically comes to my house for food (more specifically lunch time and dinner time), looking for my bop forex notes that suddenly went missing (okay, that's gotta do a little with econs), planning, watching cartoons...
i think i'm procrastinating.
nonono. scratch that. i am procrastinating.
i don't feel the urgency of studying for my dear adorable tests anymore:|ECONS! KEYNESIAN. ah. i love keynesian. dunno why pple say it's horrible. hahaha:D
i'd better go and get a verse from the bible to keep in mind whenever i wish to procrastinate from now on:|

i have half a mind to actually just abandon studying econs and go out or something. the construction work downstairs is really irritating me.
scanning my computer now... downloaded AVG anti-virus system 'cos my macafee doesn't seem to update itself. goodness knows why. anyway, the anti-virus system is completely free and you can get it from here with no strings attached:) hahaha. advertiser. comes complete with updates and all..
ooh. the construction work stopped. okay. cool. time for econs:D

idiosyncrasy is an unusual personality trait:)
disastrously sleepy right now. hahaha. maths was better than i thought. still not very fun. question 2(i), 3, 4 and 5 were all... well. not very friendly to me:) surprisingly the back questions were easier.
'cos those questions had trigo and differentiation! i never studied these two. quite cool to be able to realise that what type of integration to use immediately though. hhahaa:D and gosh. they cheated our feelings. said we've gotta studied coordinate geometry, vectors and complex numbers...well. in the end, very little of each of these three came out. there was no need for vectors at all 'cos it was a 3D trigo question:)
gp...haha. had a nice time writing the gp compo.. wrote question 5 which was something like 'the young people today never had it better. Do you think this is true in Singapore?' relatively fun to write. hahaha:D comprehension was not very friendly though... it's not that the questions are difficult..it's just that afternoon's not a very nice time to do paper..the afternoon snoozes caught up with me and i had a hard time keeping awake. thank God for huiling's two sweets which actually lasted through the entire 3 hours:D wow. God multiplied the volume of the sweet:D
we met in the morning to pray for the exams:D quite an interesting time. hahaha.
let me be proactive about rest.
disastrously sleepy right now. hahaha. maths was better than i thought. still not very fun. question 2(i), 3, 4 and 5 were all... well. not very friendly to me:) surprisingly the back questions were easier.
God multiplied the volume of the sweet:D

taking a break from studying..continuing later. hahaha:D doing maths questions..
i know it's supposed to be quite a bad idea to study late the night before...but then i dun have exams on tuesday...nor on wed. so yup. hahaha:D after tonight, there's time for ample rest again:D
i have no idea why the common tests this time feel so much more like real exams. hahaha:D it's strange. 'cos the last batch of common tests felt...normal. i think it's 'cos we had a lot of time to study this time and 'cos the j1s are having their exams. hahaha:D
ooof.
was studying with xinyi, joanna, meizhen and lincoln at emerald bk this evening when we decided to make a pact to study every sunday till the A levels from now on. hahaha:D we even signed a contract (made by me!) though it wasn't really formal and everything. going to touch up on it when we have time, so that should there be anyone deciding not to study out of pure laziness, the contract will be flashed to the person to scare him/her. hahahaa:D kiddin' actually it's to see who's coming 'cos we're changing the location weekly.
whoever wants to join us can join us! hahaha:D so cool. i think if there're a lot of pple, we'll just split back into our own caregroups.
yeah!
went to steph's house to get the formula list to photocopy (didn't photocopy in the end 'cos came home too late), then walked from steph's house to fungi's house to pass her the envelope. her doorbell works! got quite a shock when her dad opened the door and called out my name. ended up staying for a while at her house at the suggestion of her dad to stay for a while and chat. *grInz*
hey fungi, happy birthday once again:D we'll keep in touch, yah? hahaha.

whoa...
i woke up this morning feeling all jittery and anxious 'cos the fact that maths common test is tomorrow suddenly hit me.
i think it's the idea of maths common test being the first paper...hahaha:D i dun feel anxious about GP or bio or econs...hahaha:D
i'm suddenly reminded of mrs chan's words from last yr to last yr's j2s... 'it's time for an exponential increase in grades':P
normally if it's just for me, i'll like to be able to simply waffle through everything. hahaa. but i can't now. everything i'm doing, i'm going it for God. and one particular verse is stuck in my heart ... 2 Timothy 2:15 'Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth'.
last day:)
i look forward to revising integration though... actually i do love maths..i love maths when i can do all the questions:P hahaha:D it's such a nice feeling to be able to complete one qn after another without stopping. hahaha.
'i will say of the Lord,"He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom i trust"'

wooohooo. hahaha:D going for a gala premiere for the first time was an interesting experience. hahaha:D
spiderman 2's gala premiere was held at cathay cineleisure:D hehe.
sis had to surrender her hp to the security at level 1 'cos it can take photos... then we went up to level 2 and there were ushers to usher us especially through buttercup coffee to the other side instead of having to walk one big round..hahaha:D that was the first 'privilege'. then we went up to the fifth level...they actually closed the entire ticketing booth area on level 5 from 7-10pm especially for this event and there was dinner! hahaha. there was a buffet...quite a high class one. haha... as well as people wearing quite formal wear walking around... drinks came in champagne glasses (goodness knows why) and food was refilled constantly. it looked kinda like a formal party actually, with people gathering in small groups and talking amongst themselves. quite an interesting atmosphere.
saw lots of tcs artistes... saw wong qing hai (hahaha! qing's choice!), jeff wong, lai yilin, cai ying ying (melissa), pan lingling and her husband and her two sons, huang biren, zeng shi mei(priscilla) and some other channel 5 and channel 8 artistes i can't remember the names of...also saw the members of train! hahaa.
mrs goh chok tong was actually standing beside me before i realised that she was standing beside me ..only realised it when the cameras started to gather around. sister and i were quite trapped 'cos we had the tcs artistes in front of us and mrs goh chok tong beside us and the wall behind us. hahaha.
got signatures 'cos sister wanted them...wanted to help qing get the autograph of wong qing hai...we tailed him but he was eating, so we decided it's not good to disturb, then after eating, he was talking to his friend and then he went into the theatre.
before going into the theatre, we had to go through a security scan again and before going into the theatre, we were each given a lollipop stuck inside a spiderman thing..dunno wat it's called. at our seats, there was a notebook with spiderman featured on the front page.
and spiderman 2 was good! gosh. the shooting, the cinematography was wonderful! but quite scary at the front part. and the sound. whoa. the sound system was...
whoa. the sound was so visual.
and after the movie ended (go watch it!!! 4 and a half stars recommendation!), we were all given a packet of drink. hahaha.
i think the whole aim of a gala premiere is to make the guest feel pampered. haha. quite amusing.
interesting experience anyway. but nothing compared to the star whom i met in the afternoon!
He rocks!
He's more dashing than the most dashing person and has made millions and trillions of people fall in love with Him. Over the years, all other stars fade away, but gosh! People fall over in love with Him again and again and again, all through the century, all through the years.
When you focus on your attention on Him, gosh...nothing else can take your breath away more than Him. He makes think of Him alone and all my troubles, all my worries, they become so teeny weeny you can hardly see them.
and the best of all, i can talk to Him everyday! what more can i ask for?;)

i realise that i have high expectations of the people around me in some areas.
why ah?
i think it's 'cos i know that i can do it, and i know that if i can do it, other people can do it too.
but everyone's different, yah?
yes. everyone's different.
xinying, remember that okay?
okay!:D
anyway, a piece of good news! hahaha. a link from 5 yrs ago is connected! hahaha. so unexpected. so intriguing. yes! may more links be made!:D friendster rocks. hahaha.
finally found my autograph book which went to hide itself for a little while...
so interesting.
nina! hi to you too. hahahaha.

gosh. my brain neurons feel like they've thickened or something after an entire afternoon of maths.thank God for twin who's there to be my maths advisor. hahaha:D
qing was doing econs and twin was doing gp...and physics. serene macs grew colder and colder as we studied...thankfully the afternoon snoozes were away or else i'll really just fall asleep. hahaha:D
thank God for mamee's cheese flavoured rice-sticks which we kept attacking as well. and for qing who treated me to an ice cream cone. hahaha.
we realised that 98.7fm kept playing songs from the same band...we heard two songs from linkin' park, two songs from westlife and can't remember who else...quite a lot of pple. oh! we heard some songs twice. hahaha.
saw steph on 153 on the way there..hahaha. quite amusing. i went up the bus and then there was steph. so strange. hhaaa.
saw shauna and her sister today too..haha. shaun's got an interesting hairstyle now.
oooh. trace cut her hair even shorter. so jitsy is being pressurized from most sides to get her hair cut...maybe i should try convincing huixian to cut too...hmm. jits said she'll cut after exams though:D
God spoke to me just through the verse John 14:1 and Phil 4:4-7. i will trust You Lord! i will trust You!

-i'll sing to You Lord a hymn of love
for Your faithfulness to me
i'm carried in everlasting arms
You'll never let me go
through it all-
was talking to qing last night too. hahaha. about long time ago memories and what-nots. i really pity those policemen who have to solve a crime that has been committed like 12 or 20 yrs ago... we were trying to trace pple and events 5 yrs ago and it was already quite hard. hahaha.
studying with twin and qing later. they can make friends with each other. hahaha:D three more days for maths! gosh. let me get into maths mood. do maths. maths! math. beth. macbeth:P
i love math, okay?:D
math is my favourite subject. well, it isn't really, but it shall be. hahaha. math is my favourite subject! yeah! i love trigonometry, i love integration, i love differentiation:D hahahaha. and statistics! how can i forget statistics:D they're such a joyful bunch of topics to study for. the seemingly gray border between every different type of distribution unless you know each of their specific characteristics.
thrilling;)
gosh. was looking for lyrics when i saw something in the hopemm folder which said 'worship night 16th june...' did it really happen?
-You are my desire
no one else will do
'cos nothing else can take Your place
to feel the warmth of Your embrace-

\1 life... live it for Jesus.\
was talking to twin on the phone when what she said shocked me and made me realise that indeed, how unpredictable and fragile life can be. the urgency of everything strikes me once again. and how timely God places everything amazes me as well. thank God that the sister is now with Jesus.
...
i seriously don't know what to say. hahaha. i wish that people will just see that Jesus is the only way, the only truth and the only life... everyone of us has a God-sized hole...and only Jesus can fill it... nothing else. regardless of pop-stars, studies, relationships...it'll never fill the vacuum in our heart for God's love. You can gain the whole earth, but if you forfeit your soul, what's the use. you'll never be truly fulfilled, truly joyful. don't people realise that we feel the slightest nudge of emptiness inside us, it's already God trying to tell us that 'hey! you need me in your life. Deny it no more.' and that's the statement i'll leave behind tonight.
Deny it no more.

hmm. i'm curious. why're so many people putting the song lyrics of 'what makes you different (makes you beautiful)' by bsb in their nicks these days? strange.
had cg at tampines today..hehe. we ate at burger king together and wrote cards of encouragement to the person on the left and right of us 'cos exams are coming and as the bible say in proverbs - 'he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed'. yeah well:) got something from jiali which quite surprised me. haha.
anyway, we went down an aged home which i can't remember the name of... just remembered that it's at 130 hougang ave 1 and was terribly hard to find. hahaa. felt strange there 'cos we didn't really know what to do..the brothers and sisters started to disperse around to talk to the old folks and i did the same. i never really know how to interact with them 'cos i don't have grandparents. some old folks were quite willing to chat, some not so willing, some wanted to chat but i couldn't understand them...gwen kept singing songs to fill up the silence gap and song dedications from the old folks were flying around. i wish we could do something more than just entertaining them like this.. they need company which we can't provide in just an hour or so. nevertheless, hope some of them enjoyed the company:)
it's doing cip that made me consider the path of a social worker or a lifetime volunteer... the down syndrome kids, the people in the one room flats, the elderly in aged homes and hospitals... i don't want to just touch-and-go:P
yet i know that my strength is not in there. it's not completely my heart's desire to go to that path. hmm. dunno. i process better and express better when i talk everything out. and sometimes what i speak surprises myself even.
i guess that's why i was 'aaron' and jitsy was 'moses' hahahaha! right jitsy?
anyway after the trip to the aged home, going home was quite confusing 'cos everyone seemed to be unsure of how to get to anywhere. was following the west sisters when i realised that they were going to take a bus. i figured that if i kept walking in the same direction, i'll reach kovan sometime or another 'cos when i jumped onto dancing's car last time, the car passed by that area before, so i roughly knew the general direction of where kovan mrt is, just that i don't know how far it is. kept walking and walking till i reached an area which looked where jean lived. hahaha. so i continued walking. my target was a macs after turning left at a junction 'cos i remembered it from last time. was starting to doubt if where i was walking to was correct 'cos it took a long time to reach that macs but eventually, i reached my target. hahahaha:D yeah!
when i was walking alone to kovan mrt station, i couldn't help being acutely aware of one of my weaknesses.. pastor jeff is right. it's only through our various weaknesses that we can truly see how much we need God. His mercy, His grace and His providence.

-i'm living for this cause,
i lay down my life into Your hands-
Yo people! take the plunge and cut your hair today! hahaha. qing! this is especially for you:D hesitate no more! you need not have to stand the feeling or moist strands of hair sticking to your neck and weighing ur head down when you run. feel the freshness and freedom short hair brings! jitsy too!
hahaha:D
anyway...went to 'fetch' jitsy from toa payoh macs today...walked into macs, found them, went near them, then huichun looked at me in a shocked expression, jitsy turned around, had the same expression and both of them burst out laughing:P how friendly.
studied with jits and guan today. hehe. i dun think it was very productive for them..it was quite productive for me a while after we started and when i listened to 'for this cause' on jit's walkman at a rather high volume. hehehe:D
yeah. starting to pick up the speed... let's pray that it continues on:D

hehehe.
jiali and i were studying early in the morning at istana park today...hahaha. interesting morning. hahaha.
at first we were studying near the water, then the sun came and we shifted to the chairs. i think 'cos it's early in the morning, i started to feel sleepy..hahahaa. quite disastrous considering that u're trying to memorize stuff about growth and development:P short chats here and there helped though. so did jiali's lakerols.. hahahaha:D
the transition from morning to afternoon came subtly when i became more awake, jiali started to feel a little sleepy (izzit?:D) and birds took over the place of flies in istana park...hahaa. 'cos there's this malay lady who was feeding them with bread:)
lunch was at long john's! which looked really spacious with mirrors on both sides...hahaha. studying after lunch wasn't particularly productive 'cos the afternoon snoozles start to creep up on you...was trying to understand differential equations:| (learnt from weez that only the very first part is tested. cheat my feelings. hahahaha:D)
i haven't gotten the pictures for holy comm night!!! hahaha. ziwei got hers! i want mine! hahahaha:D

just finished my 31 mins walk from junction 8 to weezi's house to the outside busstop to my house's void deck...hahaha. it was 10 mins from bishan mrt station to weez's void deck...then not counting the time going up and down, it was 10 mins to the outside busstop and 11 mins to walk into my flat. hehehe.
surprisingly fast:D yeah!:D
here's a .swf file that's quite interesting:D hehee. just put ur cursor over the man's face and see what happens:D

of course i must clarify something.
i dun find it funny that some people are butches and all that. it's nothing funny.
i love the people. and i love my friend.
but i hate the sin.
anyway, i do believe that sometimes it's just a misunderstanding of the deeper levels of love towards friends that do cause people to start wondering about other things. and the mind does 'wonders', causing people to keep pondering about it. and females. well. females. we do 'feel' a lot sometimes.
anyway, that's my contribution about the whole thing after a few years of seeing stuff, of feeling stuff, or going through stuff and sharing stuff.
hehehe. goodnight!
i dun find it funny that some people are butches and all that. it's nothing funny.

came online with the intention of asking jiali what the five languages of love are 'cos i heard it during word for life today...thank God that she's online. hahaha:D
was talking to eunice in the meantime and i nearly laughed my head off. we were talking about haircuts and somehow the conversation shifted to butches in nybbgt.
seriously speaking i think it's a misconception of some people that girl basketballers are mostly butches (referring to incident in first three months when we ourselves were being called butches by a bunch of guys:P)...and people who spike their hair ARE NOT ALWAYS butches as well 'cos SOME PEOPLE just generally like to spike their hair and dun mind spending at least 10 mins a day in the morning doing so (eg. shuwen:D)
right?:D
but it turns out that there are pple in nybbgt who have decided to choose a different inclination from the behaviour of most people and have decided to show these inclinations publicly, which kinda caused a little alarm and phobia at cutting really short hair to my dear friend whom i was talking to.

i cut my hair. muahahaha!
feels so strange now. no need to comb and the hair can still fall into place nicely:|
ho humm. hahaha.
i can't remember how i looked with long hair now. ah well:)

yesterday was father's day.. haha. went out with mum and sister in the evening to finally get shirts for dad and to treat him to dinner.
so strange. father's day always seems less hyped up than mother's day... it's like, u'll see promotions and advertisements to buy this and that for your dad, but just not as much.
was just thinking about how my dad and mum are quite different in personality...hahaha. mum's choleric and dad is more phlegmatic O_o thankfully both are quite sanguine. hahaha. so at least they can talk to each other. i have a very friendly father and a very task-oriented mother. hahaha...
someone once said in a speech during graduation night in nygh that we get our personality traits mostly from our dad and our intelligence mostly from our mum. i guess it's quite true. considering i'm super non-choleric. my sister is more choleric than me i guess. hahaha. depends.
-memories consume,
like opening the wound,
i'm picking me apart again-
i like the song 'breaking the habit'...but it doesn't contain particularly nice lyrics. actually i like linkin park songs rather much...but they all contain quite negative lyrics. hahaha. so sad. the way it's presented is nice though.
something that struck my mind last night:
\To be disciplined is not just a desire, it is a decision.\ quite self-explanatory...u can keep saying 'i want to be more disciplined! i want to finish! i want to...', but then if u dun go and do it right, and just keep 'wanting to', in the end, nothing is done:P
yeah well:D

YES! today is saturday!:D and we had a very special service. today is the starting of the CENTRESTAGE services:D we had our own 'BLEEPERS, BLUNDERS and BLOOPERS' edition... uncensored, unmodified and unedited for all to view. (modelled after american idol's).
it was SUPER HILARIOUS. we couldn't stop laughing for like the first 15 mins or so... and it was very engaging...'cos of the game and the simple mime skit which caught pple's hearts. simple, yet bringing across an essential message:)
i loved it! hahaa. can't wait for the SEMI FINALS! when we can really see all 8 semifinalists sing and dance. hahaha:D so intriguing!:D

yes. my encounters for two weeks. before i start, please pray for twin. she's having a fever of more than 38 degrees celsius.
2 weeks ago...monday:
met joyce and jocelyn and the rest of them at buona vista mrt station..hahaha. surprisingly, i was the first to reach despite me leaving my house at rather a late hour. was carrying a broom and a pail (which never found its way back to my house again) and my big bag for staying over and walking around and having pple looking at me strangely as if i'm someone pretending to by a sweeper or something:)
yeah well:) games went quite smoothly...though we did take a lot of time trying out each game. hahaa:)we also prayed for ruisi 'cos she was having a fever...
by 8+ we were quite hungry...and we had yet to decide on a place to stay over at 'cos the nus eusoff hall pple said tt we can't stay over in their hall afterall..they'll be locking the place up:| and the idea of travelling back to toa payoh and travelling to nus again the next day didn't quite appeal to me, so i decided to stay over at central rc with cathy, yuqian, lausanne, jason and two other brothers whom i've forgotten the names of:| heh.
after dinner we tried out the games for 'amusing race'...was quite excited about my station 'cos everyone screamed when we tried my station out and i was just laughing my head off. hehehe:)
then we had this station whereby you have to flip urself over (called suicide window) from one side of the railing to another...it was quite scary just before u had to flip 'cos it seemed as though u'll bang ur head against the railings and concuss or something...or else u'll prob just slip and fall and everything else. but once u tried it, it's really fun. hahaha:) shirley came to join us and she tried it too..
then off we went to rc to rest. haha. me and yuqian and mandy and shirley hopped onto the first cab seen... so bad right. the rc was super near nus...it's extremely near holland village. haha:) it's like. 1 min walk away or something:)
yeah well. being the first to reach rc, me and yuqian decided to go to 7-11 to get something...then we saw the rest coming up by the lift, so we waited for them...and alvin (one of the brothers of whom i forgot the name just now...heh) held an extremely fast 'caregroup' inside the lift. super corny.
i dunno what yuqian did...but i remember chasing her all the way to 7-11 in someone's super heavy slippers. they're nice to step around with 'cos they're heavily cushioned with lots of air...but it's not fun to run around with them. hehe:)
yeah well. we made the signs and everything that night. quite an amusing night. just laming around...can't really remember doing wat. mandy and the rest of the leaders stayed up the whole night finishing the name tags for us. so touched. hehee.
took a cab down the next morning and we did our best to try to finish everything (eg. filling up flour...) the half-hour before registration started was super confusing and busy...everyone had to rush things to do..and 3/4 of the games comm pple were still with freddy preparing for the amusing race... and the few of us left had lots of things to pack and finish...and the pieces of cloth, turned from very nicely cut to... (eh..) not-so-nicely cut:D thought it was quite interesting how u can improvise on cutting cloth as well. hhaa:)
yeah. then the rest of the day was when games commenced and teaching commenced and the rest of the brothers and sisters came (so nice to see them again:D)
i think the thing about camps is that they contain a lot of fresh insights, new goals, renewed passion, interesting memories, knowledge, deep thinking, fun and laughter which can't really be contained in a page-ful of words...and the best i can do is to retain these as memories, packed to keep them as fresh as if i am still reliving them when i think back about the camp. so yes. i can't really put the three days of camp into words either.
i responded in the camp to two main things... one is about what i do with the time i have (more specifically, do i align what i do to the vision?) second thing is responding to being a cl by jan 2005. actually i responded to it as a sign of truly wanting to follow my leaders and support them all the way. how to say. like... my main focus is to fulfill the vision that we have for vj...and it doesn't really matter to me if i'm a cl or not. just that if God appoints me to be one, i'll definitely accept it.
i can't quite remember what i did last friday. or sat ('cept that there was service and jasmine did a very nice 'card' for jocelyn:D). or sunday ('cept that my mum and sister and i went out to shop for clothes to wear to my cousin's wedding dinner night. what's this. year of weddings of nieces and cousins? *boggles* haha).
ah well.
monday. studied with jiali at macs before wfl... hahha. shepherd had to take care of sheep, so shepherd took sheep up to oceania room when she was going to prepare as well. sheep was quite amused and felt that she was having extended shepherding during wfl and now sheep thinks she's talking in xinyi's style.
tuesday...tuesday was a day of chalet..hahaa. was arguing with myself if i should go 'cos i can really use that one more day for studying...but went in the end 'cos i'll be disappointing two groups of pple if i dun go:) hehee. first was the chalet with 03S1D...me and steph thought we're late...in the end, we were the first females to reach:|
played mahjong (haha. munbbill is surprisingly good at it:|) and bridge... (hahhaa! 10-4... unfortunately ...or fortunately, depends on how u look at it, grouped with thong kheng. we won the 10 sets!!!:D:D:D) and heart attack. some things i remember was the crab killing minutes spent AWAY FROM THE KITCHEN 'cos crab killing didn't quite appeal to me (:P), eating nutella on its own and shouting 'hello!' to the pple at 'wild wild wet' with michelle and actually getting responses.
main food supply was chips and drinks. junk food basically.
then went over to tracy's chalet! hahaha. it was a combination of the former nygep pple and the rj pple. ate lots of food. chicken wings, marshmellows, satay, otah, sausages, crabmeats, chocolates, watermelon, potato with butter (or satay sauce)...yeah well:D
tracy and qing and weez are crazy:D hehe. i wanted to play bridge after all that eating and they wanted to play basketball:D we did play bridge. one round (!!!) and then it was basketball. can u imagine, all the food in our stomach? got a stitch after the game...combined with four guys who were there before us.
had study cg on wednesday:D was quite interesting. i observed a few study patterns about myself... then studied with them together on thurs again:D we should have an overnight study session. most of the time i was just getting into the mood to study again when i had to go home... :(
studying at amk galilee cafe with steph and dancing was too short to be effective. hehee. well thankfully i did finish my econs mindmap...so at least i can refer to it next time:)
TODAY IS SATURDAY!:D it was a hilarious saturday so it shall have an entry of its own. anyway, this one is getting too long for comfort. hhahaa:)

thank God for computer technicians...thank God for windows xp that's now controlling everything in my comp...thank God for people not flooding my inbox (or it could be that no other mails could get in)...
hahaha:) yeah! my comp is officially fixed. and while my comp was still not working, i learnt how to read the files in the comp, extract them, or move them around using ms dos. so intriguing:D if anyone's comp dies in the future and you have important documents to take out, can ask me to teach u how. hahaha:)
i have lots to blog about. been saving up each memory in my brain for the past 2 weeks. if i don't unload them soon, i won't be able to load my common test stuff into my brains...hahaha:)
but before this. i need to go and bathe. hahaha.
look i'm using the prefrontal cortex of my brain which is the area of sober second thought, determining if i'll bathe first, or i'll blog first and which one will yield a more positive feedback. i hereby settle on the bathing first. here i go. hahahaha:D

A psychotic chemist came home from work and had a big fight with his wife. In the heat of the moment, he grabbed a bottle of some lethal chemical substance and forced her to drink it while he screamed: " Die Ethyl, die". The wife dropped dead on the floor and the neighbors who were watching the scene, decided to call the police. The policemen arrived and arrested the chemist. One of them asked: Was there any reason for you to kill your wife? The chemist replied: " There was no chemistry between us. We never bonded well although we tried. In the compound where we lived, our temperaments collided. She always responded negatively to my comments. Our relationship was unstable. There was no possible solution. She had an attitude and I was explosive. Finally, I overreacted. But now I'm glad it's over. I'm in equilibrium again.I will feel free even behind the irons."

gosh. slept for 11 and a half hours... haha. woke up at 11.30am when cathy called me to tell me what to bring for camp today... physically i dun feel quite rested yet. hope we don't stay up too late tonight:)
been getting a lot of 'on government service' letters that kept my parents wondering using interesting ways of bugging me about joining the gepaa and the anniversary dinner. hahaha. i think we can hold the anniversary dinner ourselves.
actually i think we should have a reunion dinner ourselves.
yeah. just typed out a letter to them and sent it. hope the response is good.
yeah! sze just confirmed tt she's free on the 23rd! hahahaha:D rocks.

oooh. i feel terribly exhausted. *yawn*. hahaha:)
back from family camp!:D so nice! hahaha. it's really so cool to have thousand ++ of us all in the same ballroom praising and worshipping God and honouring one another.how heartening it is to know that everyone around you loves Jesus and truly wants to serve Him as well:D
-You are the way the truth and the life
i live by faith and not by sight... for You
i'm living all for You-
i think a few things i remember the most out of the camp was how the first praise and worship already ministered greatly to me, pastor dinah's inspirational teaching which impacted using stories, how the staff team truly show forth Christ's example to serve, how the leaders honour their leaders, the very interesting workshop that really appealed to me (counselling in discipling process), the holy communion night where marcus had the inspiration of getting all the former PTE pple to take a photo and then subsequently we had the idea of getting all the PT pple to take a photo together (jieyun says it's like an annual reunion for all of us to remember each other, i think it also serves the purpose of spurring each of us on to continue running the race) and the late night talking sessions (or shall i say early morning?) with jiali (for both nights) and with jitsy(for the second night)which allowed me to get to know jiali (as a shepherd, as a friend) better. actually i feel tt she initiated the whole talking thing.. hahaha.
-night time sharpens, heightens your sensation
darkness stirs and wakes imagination-
i should go and sleep soon. hahaha. sleeping over for hs/jc camp tmr 'cos the game comm pple are going there one day early to prepare for everything:D can't wait for it! at eusoff hall! u all can still sms me!:D heh.
back from family camp!:D so nice! hahaha. it's really so cool to have thousand ++ of us all in the same ballroom praising and worshipping God and honouring one another.how heartening it is to know that everyone around you loves Jesus and truly wants to serve Him as well:D
-You are the way the truth and the life
i live by faith and not by sight... for You
i'm living all for You-

"The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice" (Proverbs 12:15, NIV).
We have a rather crazy bird that keeps smashing into our kitchen window, I presume trying to reach his/her reflection. I keep trying to outsmart it, but it keeps coming back for more of the same kind of treatment. I had the same thing happening at my former home. They just don't get it.
I have also read how, "If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet and is entirely open at the top, the bird, in spite of its ability to fly, will be an absolute prisoner. The reason is that a buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a run of 10 to 12 feet. Without space to run, as is its habit, it will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a small jail with no top.
"A bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler, will be there until it dies, unless it is taken out. It never sees the means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near the bottom. It will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys itself."
Some, perhaps many, people are entrapped in hopeless situations because they are not looking for or seeing the way out of their predicament. I've been there myself in days past until I wised up. In my work I see people making the same mistakes over and over again failing to realize that what we don't resolve, we are destined to repeat ...repeat ... repeat. As the saying goes, "If we keep doing what we've always done, we'll keep getting what we always got, and we'll keep feeling what we've always felt."
The beginning point for finding the way out of any predicament is always to look up--to look to God and pray the right prayer. That is, ask God to show you the truth of what you are contributing to the situation, to show you what you need to do to resolve it, and to help find the help/counsel you need to overcome.

shoo away from me, you worries begotten of circumstance!
cast your sight away, let not your breath taint my air,
it is not my wish to see you...
... nor hear you...
nor sense your presence.
no!
leave me my fresh air. leave me my peace. leave me all that's inside me.
and let them be.

it is not my wish to see you...
... nor hear you...
nor sense your presence.

hahaha! just saw the picture of a primary sch friend i used to hang out with a lot in primary school... hannah. she looks pretty now!
i remember her quite vividly 'cos i used to hang out with her, xavier and lynette (best fren in primary sch) in primary school..and she was the only one who's not from my class, but nevertheless we still see each other every morning and all.
got me into tons of trouble 'cos i'll go out with them and this bunch of guys will always join us and mum will say lots of bad things abt them and all. and i'll have fierce quarrels with mum whenever she says bad things abt them...but they're not bad pple, just more playful. and the bunch of us will go to the arcade and play 'house of the dead'. hahaha.
at first i still kept in touch with hannah and xavier after going to sec sch...but gradually, we didn't call each other anymore.
so sad.
hhahaa.

was quite frustrated by how several of my planned out stuff for this week have to changed/edited/deleted/pushedback/shortened for this week of various new things which came by on its way and i was unable to nicely fill in things and all tt due to unknown factors. and once my timetable is printed out from the comp, i want it to be perfectly planned. no changes. nothing. (how demanding)
so being quite frustrated, i decided to turn to the Word of God 'cos i was reading through today's WFL notes in advance and was just starting to read the new chapter about the Word. yup:D
flipped to James and started reading it again out of my own accord and the verse 1:5 spoke to me. 'If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him' and i prayed to Him...and ta-da. well. instead of filling in the activities as how it should be, why not just decide about the activities myself first (okay. this does sound strange in words, but it made perfect sense to me.)... so out went my frustration and in came a nicely planned timetable, which will not be amended, but things can be added on.
actually God also showed me tt this frustration does have underlying reasons and it surfaced as a result of me realising the symptons, but failing to rectify it completely and with determination. so nice of God to give me verses too. hahaha:D
anyway, flipping through the bible for the verses today suddenly made me miss the times when i can spend a long time just poring over the verses in the bible, wondering about the meaning, thinking about applications and linking it to other parts, then writing them down. checking online for more insights about what the verses mean and everything. Has my love for the WOG diminished? what a scary thought. i shall allocate time for more feasting on the WOG every week:D
i love the book of James:D it's the book which i really love. hahaha. repetition. and really explore. and ponder. and ask.
1 Peter too. hahaha. should apply this curiosity and ernestness in knowing more about the books to other books as well. and pray for the curiosity and ernestness to continue on and on and on and on forever!
